This is the translation of my work. I write in Polish and use Google Translate, then correct its mistakes. English is not my first language so please, be patient with me.

The work includes headcanons both romantic and platonic for Twisted Wonderland characters.

Characters that are or look like children will only be written in a platonic way.

Chapter Text

Midterm exams are coming up at Night Raven College. Reader and Grim face the terrible danger of science. You need to use all possible means...

Riddle Rosehearts

• Definitely one of the best students you could ask for help. He dedicates himself to studies. Unfortunately, getting him to help someone is nearly a miracle. Maybe apart from the people from Heartslabyul who are teetering on the verge of not giving a damn, and it's not a pleasant situation because they are at risk of losing their heads...

• Cater caught you in the corridor and told you how the prefect had cleverly taught him everything. However, he made you closer to giving up on your request. Why would Riddle agree? You'll bother him unnecessarily and he's so busy...

• A day later, Riddle stopped you in the hallway and offered to help. As it later turned out, he overheard your conversation. The fact that you gave up on his help because you were thinking about his tiredness made him feel warm near his heart and his cheeks turned crimson. Of course he would never admit it.

• The first thing he did was give you a thick tome of knowledge you needed for your History of Magic exam. His own study guide. After what he had been through with Cater, he could almost predict that neither you nor Grim would be able to handle it but he had faith in you.

• When he saw that memorizing wasn't helping you at all, he decided to try other methods. He patiently explained things to you in various places on campus. Whether it's during a unbirthday party or while looking after hedgehogs. You began to associate facts with objects and situations that reminded you of various events.

• You passed the exam with one of the highest scores. You threw your arms around his neck in joy the next time you met him, which made him blush once again. Trey didn't let him live with it for the rest of the day.

Leona Kingscholar

• There is no shame in falling off a broom several times. It can happen to anyone. However, when someone is at risk of failing a semester, it is a cause for concern. The president of the Spelldrive club should be the perfect tutor, right? At least in theory...

• Leona is not an ideal candidate. In fact, he's the worst possible and you know it. Unfortunately, Ruggie told you that if he can't help you himself, the prince is your last hope.

• You had to promise to help Leona for free for another month for him to even agree to help you. And even when he did, it didn't look like he really wanted to move his lazy tail.

• You spent your days trying to force him out of the botanical garden. Sometimes you just gave up and took a nap. Time passed and you weren't making any progress. One day Grim came up with a risky idea.
You told Leona that if he didn't help you, you would look for help elsewhere. For example in Pomefiore... It worked! He stood up lazily and casually, saying that the herbivores would finish him off one day.

• The last few days have been a time of intense work. You can't count how many times you've listened to complaints and come to terms with it. It must be admitted, however, that when you rose too high and the fall really threatened to break your limbs, the boy caught you in his arms. He held you a second too long, maintaining eye contact, before unceremoniously dropping you right onto the dusty track.

• Coach Vargas was surprised that you could even stay on the broom. Still, he said that if you didn't complete the entire obstacle course, there was no way you would pass. When you collapsed at the end, you felt pure frustration, certain that your hard work had been wasted. However, the teacher congratulated you and gave you a passing grade.
You will never know that Leona in the meantime blackmailed him and told him that he would leave the club if he didn't let you go for another semester...

Lilia Vanrouge

• Why did you ask him for help with alchemy? If it were history, he could teach you so much. After all, he knows facts that are not even in books...

• His war experience made him quickly explain to you how to make healing potions and poisons. As for the rest... Well, he needs to learn some recipes someday too, he said with a laugh.

• Be prepared to be asked questions unexpectedly. He will often surprise you or Grim by hanging upside down and asking questions. If you will answer well, great for you. If you answer wrong, you will get booped on the nose.

• He will make sure that you do not forget about having fun and rest while learning. He's been through this with Malleus and Silver, so he knows when to say enough is enough and make a break.

• Breaks consist of tea and eating cookies he baked himself. He loves the way you eat them even after he confused salt with sugar again, which he found out only in the evening.

• He will definitely be waiting outside the room to find out the results of your exam. And after everything, he will ask for a kiss on the cheek as a reward for his help. He is sure you will pass. Kufufufu...

Malleus Draconia

• Malleus' confession of feelings involved a number of obstacles and misunderstandings, although happily resolved.

• He wrote about you many times in letters to his grandmother. And although it made him realize the fragility of relationships with humans, grandma was also very happy knowing that her grandson had experienced such deep love. She really wanted to meet you, even though you didn't know it at the time.

• Draconia's biggest fear and block from telling you how he felt was the fear of loss. In various aspects of it. He was aware that he would certainly outlive you, and from time to time the thought of you returning to the world you came from floated in the back of his mind. In addition, you were his first real friend, not counting the people who were with him every day. Rejection could cost him the entire relationship.

One most ordinary night, he simply realized that the risk was worth trying to tell you how he felt.

• Malleus sprang into action with eager vigour. Unfortunately, these efforts were somewhat misdirected. It took Lilia to clearly explain to him that the customs adopted among fae do not necessarily translate to humans. He was forced to do this, as it were, because after you threw away his family generational necklace, the clouds over Diasomnia were darkening day by day and a disastrous downpour with lightning was brewing.

Meanwhile, you were simply afraid that Grim would destroy such a valuable and expensive gift. You had absolutely no idea of the additional meaning it carried.

• The second attempt was definitely more successful. Malleus gave you the rose seeds he grew in Briar Valley. Planted in Ramshackle, with his magic they turned into a field of red flowers. Combined with the moonlight and the fireflies dancing around you, it created a wonderful atmosphere that you will remember for a long time.

It was then that the fae confessed to you that he had been smitten with you from the very beginning but it was your friendship, so precious to him, that turned into something more. The fact that he knelt down in front of you and promised to give you everything you wanted made you think for a moment that he was going to propose to you. Initially, that's what he planned, but Lilia talked him out of it...

Idia Shroud

• It's not that Idia didn't know what love was. He had played so many otome games that while he wasn't an expert, he certainly wasn't a noob. However, without Ortho's help, he would not have correctly recognized its signs in real life.

• He started by avoiding you. The rapid heartbeat and red tips of his hair were becoming more and more frequent and it was difficult for him to control them. So he found the best solution he could come up with, which was to lock himself in his room. He avoided you as much as he could all over campus.

• His brother, although he quickly understood through data analysis what was happening to him, did not think it was good to raise the topic too early. Initially, he wanted to give Idia time. Time was clearly running out because the robot, seeing you once again look sadly at the tablet and gave it a wide berth, decided to act. He prepared a series of tests to convince your older brother that you reciprocate his feelings. Of course, Shroud hid under the blanket, mumbled to be left alone. Although he pretended to be uninterested, the speech actually sparked hope in him.

Maybe this time he wasn't a total knight nerd and side hero? Maybe he could play the lead role for once?

• He did what he does best. He designed a program that allowed him to send a request if you wanted to be his girlfriend. At worst, he was going to pretend it was a mistake.

When he saw that instead of checking the tick box, you had come to Ignihyde, he immediately paled. You had to knock on the door, telling him that you wouldn't leave until he explained to you what was actually going on and how this confession related to his constant avoidance of you.

Idia just stuck his head out of the crack, stammered and said that he was like the worst NPC you've ever seen but if you let him have some time, maybe he'll become a main character worthy of you.

Kalim Al-Asim

• Friendzone should be his middle name. From the beginning of your relationship, he sent you signals that you considered romantic. Until you started spending more time with him around others and you found out that Kalim treated them the same way he treated you. That's when everything started to get confusing for you.

• When you tried to tell him that you liked him very much, he replied that he liked you too. When you said more, he said more, more. And when you said he was more than a friend, he said you were his best friend. He did all this with such a wide smile on his face that you didn't have the heart to explain to him the true meaning of your statements. You knew the sincerity of his words. Few people in the NRC matched him in truthfulness. But it was incredibly frustrating for you.

• Grim knew exactly what was happening, seeing your hearty eyes every time you left the desert dormitory. He calculated in his head how many cans of tuna he would get if you got together with the prefect of Scarabia. This prompted him to not-so-subtly blurt out to Kalim that you were romantically interested in him. In return, he received a promise of a container of fish delicacies.

• The boy was in great shock but in a positive way. He didn't know what to do with all his joy, so he grabbed the first flowers in a vase he had at hand and ran towards the flying carpet. You weren't expecting him at all in the evening, dressed in your pajamas and ready to go to bed. He hugged you so tightly that he almost knocked you over and that was before he even remembered that he hadn't told you why he actually came...

Vil Schoenheit

• Valentine's Day with Vil was planned long before anyone else thought about it. At least on his part. That's why you were surprised how far in advance he discussed them with you. An actor's job requires him to anticipate many things in advance to be able to create a schedule.

• You were very excited about your trip to the spa. You were counting down the days until it arrived. That's why when Vil's manager announced over the phone that he had to show up to record a commercial on the day of his departure, you felt tears gathering in the corners of your eyes. Schoenheit just announced loudly that he had more important things to worry about and took your suitcase. You didn't think he'd leave his favourite potato alone, did you? You don't believe in him enough...

• Of course, a round after all beauty treatments was mandatory. Masks, massages and much more.

• Photos, photos and more photos. He has to make sure that his Magicam account doesn't die during your weekend trip. If you don't feel like being there, he will understand but he will still take a selfie with you and save it in his private gallery.

• You weren't entirely sure if he would like your gift. You bought a new tiara for him because the old one was very damaged and worn. You spent almost all of your savings at Sam's on it. One look at Vil was enough to let you know you'd found the right thing. He hasn't been separated from it since then.

Riddle Rosehearts

• Rule 958 of the Queen of Hearts says that if you have a significant other, you should spend Valentine's Day with them. Riddle, of course, has read all of them and also intends to adapt to this particular one. But know that if it wasn't a rule, he would still spend the day with you.

• You knew perfectly well that you would spend Valentine's Day together, so you asked Trey in advance to teach you how to make a strawberry tart. On Valentine's Day, Riddle received a handmade and freshly baked cake from you.

• The picnic took up most of the day. You had to admit that the place by the small river was nice. You were even more happy that the boy took care of Grim during this time. Under the watchful eye of the people of Heartslabyul, there was no way he could make any mischief while you were gone.

• During the picnic, you found some hedgehogs that Ace was supposed to take care of. Apparently they escaped him. Riddle promised to refrain from using his special spell for your sake for the time being.

• He found the sight of you with the hedgehogs extremely cute. Especially your smile as you stroked them gently. This is his favourite memory from that day.

Idia Shroud

• It would be bold to assume that Idia even remembers such a holiday. It's the first year of your relationship and everything was still new and fresh to him. The fact that he has a a significant other doesn't quite get to him.

• The fact that Cater accosted him when he had to leave the dormitory sent him into absolute panic. One of the most talkative people on campus making a survey? Double tragedy! The question was what he would do on Valentine's Day. He froze, trying to say anything. Luckily, you were nearby and saved him from trouble. He always knew his other half was the main character but now you showed off your best skills.

• When you left Cater, you said that if he wanted, you could have a game night at Ignihyde. He agreed to the proposal. At the same time, however, while eating dinner, he thought that he would like this night to be at least a little more special than usual.

• Shroud suppressed the overwhelming urge to send his brother to the school store for decorations. He went there himself. He kept telling himself the whole way that he was doing this for you. He ended up decorating his corner with hearts and laying out a ton of food. For a moment he had the urge to take it all off because it looked strangely out of place and actually in his head this idea was better. That's when you walked in, so he had no choice but to stand embarrassed in the middle of the room.

• You were really impressed that Idia managed to make such a gesture because you know he doesn't like such sweet things. Especially when you got it out of him that he had to go outside and did it for you. You were very happy and played until the morning, which made you late for class.

Chapter Text

Rook Hunt • Words

• If there is anyone at Night Raven College who has mastered the art of speech, it is definitely Rook. The boy has been using flowery phrases since you first met. It has become so much a part of him that you can't imagine him speaking in normal words.

• His love language is words, so he naturally gave nicknames to the people around him during the time he spent with them. However, you are unique and that comes with certain privileges. You have already been called the Crown jewel of his heart, An angel with a divine face, and The most beautiful person the world has ever seen. Interestingly, if anyone else had said it, you would have thought of it as empty platitudes but not with Rook. You know he sincerely believes everything he says.

• First graders literally can't listen to the boy for long periods of time. His words are so sweet that it makes them all sick, as Ace put it...

• Hunt likes to give you poems in which he praises various aspects of your character. Of course, the concept of beauty must always come up but he wants you to remember that beauty is not just about appearance.

• Rook uses foreign-sounding words very often. At first you looked up what they meant. Now you simply ask him to translate what he is saying but sometimes you will be refused. Some things are more interesting being a mystery...

Jack Howl • Acts of service

• Something broke? Need help you with your bag? Renovation at Ramshackle? This man is definitely the answer to all your problems.
At times you feel that perhaps his distant connection to dogs due to being a beast with wolf-like characteristics is responsible for his textbook loyalty. Once you have won him over, he will always be there, willing to help.

• His love language seems to be usually favors. He'll find or take care of Grim when you're having a bad day. He will help fill the hole when your dormitory roof is leaking. He will lend you his jacket when you are cold.

• You sometimes let him do things that you could do yourself. All this just to see his satisfied face and his tail moving left and right when you thank him.

• You're not as fit as he is. If you go for a morning training session in the forest on the school grounds and fall down along the way, you can be sure that he will take you ona piggyback ride. He doesn't take you in his arms because he's a little embarrassed that you'll see him blush. But you know what's going on in his head because his ears give him away.

• You especially like it when Jack's favors include manual labor. You then have the opportunity to take a closer look at his muscles. And there are many of them...

Floyd Leech • Physical touch

• Floyd is a walking fan of touch. In various forms. Mostly squeezing, which most Night Raven College students don't like. Fortunately, he doesn't threaten you with anything terrible in this matter.

• It started with Floyd simply throwing his arm around your shoulders. He would always tell you that he was extremely bored as he led you to Mostro Lounge. It wasn't long before he started literally hanging on to you if you weren't paying attention to him.

• Nowadays, a boy loves to give you surprise hugs. Sometimes you have to remind him that he has a lot more strength than the average person and that you need a little more air in your lungs.

• He likes to grab your hand unexpectedly when you're passing the school corridors.
One time it got to the point that he didn't want to let you go and went with you to Professor Trein's class. You felt a lot of shame then, especially when he told the teacher that he couldn't be separated from his shrimpy. Only when Jade came to talk his brother out of the idea of starting an argument with Trein, he announced that it was over for the day because he was tired of sitting in the stuffy atmosphere. He then got a week's punishment.

• You once bought him a tiny rubber ball so he could squeeze it when you weren't around. He liked it so much that now he won't part with it. You can meet many dissatisfied people on campus who were hit in the head with such a ball.

Chapter Text

Sebek Zigvolt

• Sebek has no time for dancing. He is always busy serving his master. That doesn't mean he can't do it. Of course he can! What a disgrace he would be if he did not have such a basic skill for a knight! Lilia taught him when he was a small child.

• It was for this reason that Zigvolt didn't think about dancing much. Until he returned to Briar Valley with Malleus for one of the major holidays. He didn't expect that you would also be invited along with Grim to his home country. Though he could have predicted it, given your good acquaintance with the future king.

• When he saw that you had been named the guest of honour at the grand banquet at the palace, he thought something was flashing before his eyes. Lilia laughed softly at him, explaining that this was what Malleus had wished.

• Sebek stood for some time, looking at you as you hesitantly entered the room. This might have been one of the few times in his life that he was at a loss for words. Even more so when it came time to choose a partner to lead the traditional first dance. As you approached him, he was sure you were heading towards Silver. After all, he really was a great dancer, apart from the times he fell asleep mumbling steps. When you reached out to him with a question, he replied stiffly that he accepted the mission, to which you responded with laughter.

• He gave his all. He couldn't bring shame to the prince! But that doesn't mean he would let you fail if it wasn't the case. Lilia joked about his expression and how he fell silent for the rest of the evening for the following weeks.

• It's been a long time since that dance but he still thinks about it from time to time. Especially when he later realized that he had been telling you off for missing steps almost all the time. If he could, he would turn back time and enjoy the sight of you in your ball gown, twirling in his arms.

Azul Ashengrotto

• While music is a large part of life and culture for underwater creatures, dancing is not necessarily so. Azul's relationship with dancing was similar to that associated with flying on a broom - laying and crying.

• When you agreed to sign a contract to lend your voice and sing at Monstro Lounge, he was extremely pleased with himself. The number of students, and therefore the profit, has increased significantly since he started organizing evenings with music and you as the main singer.

• One time you decided to stay longer and help him close the place for the night. He didn't expect you to grab his hand while singing a slow song and start swaying slowly to the melody. You didn't comment on how obvious it was that Azul couldn't dance, which he was grateful for.

• It crossed his mind to get out of this unfamiliar situation as quickly as possible but he loved listening to your voice too much to actually do it. So he let you wrap your arms around his neck and continued.

• He would love to do it again someday, but at the same time not feel so miserable about his skills. He made it his mission to learn to dance behind your back. Once it is perfect, he will recreate the exact same situation and you will be very surprised. However, it will still take him some time...

Jamil Viper

• Dancing is one of the few activities in which Jamil does not inhibit himself as much as in others. When you asked him to teach you some choreography after the SDC performance, he agreed. Although he was sure that if you had asked about it before you got to know each other better, he would have refused, saying that he didn't have time because he had to take care of Kalim.

• You had to admit that you were impressed with the amount of dance moves he showed you. You were afraid that breakdancing would be too difficult for you but with the help of your friend, you learned some basic modern dance steps. It all went downhill from there.

• He had a lot of patience with you. Maybe he even showed you too much for a first lesson but somewhere inside him there was a selfish need to arouse at least a bit of admiration in you, something he didn't experience on a daily basis and even tried to avoid. The light in your eyes and the touch of your hands as he showed you some of his moves followed him for a long time.

• What was supposed to be just one lesson turned into an entire dance course. You weren't very good but it didn't matter. Spending time with Jamil like this was one of the most enjoyable moments of each week for you.

Chapter Text

Silver • Sleep

• Silver's biggest fear about your relationship was his tendency to sleep. If he could, he would do anything to finally get rid of his problem. Unfortunately, despite years of searching, he found no explanation or cure for his condition.

• He always felt bad for falling asleep during your conversations. Especially at the beginning, he was surprised that you didn't leave him but waited patiently for him to wake up. And sometimes it was a matter of not minutes but hours!

• He used to fall asleep on your shoulder. Now that you're a couple, he sometimes puts his head on your lap. You're always petting his head and that feeling makes him even more reluctant to wake up. It's a shame to admit it but he pretended to be asleep several times so as not to interrupt the magic...

• He was incredibly grateful when he found out that you were trying to find a cure for his sleepiness on your own. However, he stopped you because he said it was pointless. He tries really hard to stay awake when you're around. Energy drinks and coffee help a bit.

• He's a knight, but his dad jokes that you make him turn into a princess and you make yourself look like a knight. You often save him from trouble. Like the time he fell asleep in History of Magic class and you pretended to faint to distract him.

Cater Diamond • Social media

• Cater's problem is how social media affects him. He is on them so often that they are a huge part of his life. After all, Magicam is his second home and the selfie stick is like an extension of his hand. Therefore, he developed uncertainty about whether he was really worth anything.

• Constantly seeing perfect faces and lives makes him wonder whether he himself is attractive and his life is worth recording on the Internet.

• You didn't immediately realize his dilemma. He usually hides tit and it took you some time. When you finally realized it, you were really shocked. From then on, you started complimenting him regularly. You really wanted him to see himself in the light you saw him in every day.

• When Cater realized what you were doing, he decided to take a little detox from the Internet. Since then, he still makes them from time to time. Then you try to spend time with him so that he is not tempted to return to the phone.

• You try to take a series of goofy photos every now and then when you're both completely unprepared for it. All this to remind him that not only the perfect-looking scenes are worth being captured.

Deuce Spade • The Past

• Deuce is most worried about his possible return to who he once was. He knows that his mother is counting on him most of all and he doesn't want to disappoint her. He tries very hard to put it aside and be better but sometimes he behaves differently than he would like.

• At first he hid from you that he was a hooligan. However, he didn't last very long. Mainly because of guilt. He wanted you to find out from himself and not from someone else.

• You were surprised by his confession, because Deuce, despite often getting into trouble at Night Raven College, did not fit your image of a hooligan.
It wasn't until one time, when a large group of students started harassing you and he jumped into action, that you realized he wasn't joking. Even without using magic, he could fight. Of course, he later turned himself in as guilty and ended up cleaning the floor in the school dining room as punishment. When he saw you standing there with a mop, ready to help, he almost cried. You explained to him that his past won't go away but he's turning it into something good and you see it. After all, he used his fists for a good cause and protected you!

• Sometimes you can't help but ask him to bend the rules a little. You liked his blastcycle too much...

Chapter Text

Epel Felmier

• Epel would love someone full of contradictions. In his mind, he needs someone delicate and charming, who would allow him to emphasize that he is not like that, even though his appearance suggests otherwise.

• As is often the case however, what we want and what we really need are two separate things. Therefore, despite everything, he would have to confront his dreams with reality. It would turn out that he would fall in love with someone who, apart from being gentle, would also have courage and readiness to act. You two are saving your friends and you jump into battle instead of standing on the sidelines? This isn't how he imagined it. In his mind, he saw you safe behind his back. And yet, this surprise doesn't seem bad to him, quite the opposite.

• The day you stood up to Vil would be the day he would understand clearly why he chose you and why he was wrong before. Although he would never say it out loud to you.

• Bonus points if you can come up with crazy ideas every now and then. For example, borrow a motorcycle from Deuce and come pick him up when the prefect isn't there, to take him for a ride. Let him ride in front and hold him around the waist, otherwise his ego will suffer...

Ace Trappola

• Ace would fall in love with his friend. But not in the way books and romantic comedies present it. You wouldn't have known each other since childhood, playing in the sandbox. This would be a later, more mature realationship, established already in the NRC.

• Trappola would have to grow up to this. For a long time he didn't take girls seriously. In you, he saw only a friend. Someone like Deuce to hang out with and laugh. It would take him almost the rest of school to realize that he was wrong after all. Around his last semester would be the time when he would realize that things weren't quite what he thought.

• Ace would find himself feeling torn more and more often. He really valued your friendship and wouldn't want to ruin it. This relationship would be more important to him, so he would be able to swallow his growing feelings, if it weren't for the fact that he saw subtle signals that would indicate that you felt the same. So he would try to take advantage of his chance.

• In a relationship, you are friends and that is more important to you than all the cute things that couples do. At the end of NRC you would still be pranking teachers and sneaking under Riddle's nose. In a more mature relationship, you would know that you could count on each other unconditionally and there would be verbal flirtations that would annoy everyone around you.

Trey Clover

• Trey is a person who has experienced family warmth since childhood. His attachment to family members would be what would determine what he is looking for in a relationship. Someone calm and composed would be his dream other half.

• He wouldn't fall in love at first sight but he would see your qualities right away. It's how you treat people around you, whether you can show them compassion and help. It would mean a lot to him. There's nothing to make tarts with and you offered to go to the store because he has his hands full? He would melt from such small gestures.

• He would definitely introduce you to his family members as soon as he was sure that you were his chosen one. He would know that they would like you but he would still want to hear what they had to say about you. Watching you interact with each other would be  forever preserved in his memory. He hopes that you would like to have children someday because you get along perfectly with his siblings.

• Bonus points if you can cook. He could share his greatest passion with you. If not, that's fine. You can always be his taste tester!

Chapter Text

Ruggie Bucchi

• Ruggie wouldn't be surprised by the period in the first place. If there are guys for whom this is a taboo topic, he wouldn't be one of them. He saw so many things on the streets as a child that neither pain nor blood scares him. He would also have no problem talking about it loudly. It's just a normal thing.

• He would definitely be a master of home remedies during your period. His years of odd jobs and all kinds of life knowledge would be invaluable in this matter. He would brew you homemade teas to help with the pain. All herbs are collected and dried by hand by him.

• While he is invaluable when it comes to home-made medicines, when you feel like snacking, he can be a miser. Cookies, chocolates, chips at Sam's? He's always short of money. But don't worry, if you really want some, he will somehow get money from Leona. Will you know about it? Not necessarily...

• Ruggie tolerates mood swings very well. Not only did he undergo training while working for Leona but he also got used to the fact that a woman is right, even when she isn't. In Savanaclaw, they lead in most relationships and thus he will tolerate any moodiness you may have.

Ortho Shroud

•A prefect in need? Ortho noticed it first! Before he downloaded the exact module, he thought you were seriously ill. He was very concerned about your health. Only when he downloaded the appropriate data did he understand what was going on.

• Even if you weren't fully aware of Rook's love for you, its signs would catch up with you faster than his arrow. Mainly because Hunt doesn't hide his feelings towards anyone. Because Rook has been singing paeans to you basically from the very beginning of your acquaintance.

• You would be the one to confess your feelings to him before he had the chance to do so. Riddle would have seen something happening to him. His attention would start flying out the window and it would worry him terribly. History of magic lesson with Trein and he didn't write down a few sentences of his notes? Disgraceful behaviour on his part. And all because you had physical education with Vargas outside the window near him. You were laughing loudly at something and he could almost imagine the sound.

• He wouldn't be able to understand that he was in love. His mother didn't talk to him about such things, so although he understood in theory that people were together, he had no practice in this area because she always locked him at home. Trey would gently suggest this possibility to him but he would hotly deny his words.

You wouldn't take it to heart because the guy is always saying very random things, one third of which are jokes, one third are lies and the rest are true. You assumed it was another joke and that's it.

• It would piss you off when he got between you and a freshman you went to class with and talked to. He would put his head on your shoulder and tell him to get lost because he wanted to talk to his girlfriend. You would grumble under your breath and follow Floyd, not taking his words seriously.

• That was until one time at the Mostro Lounge, his brother asked if you were going to go home with them because it would be nice for their parents to meet you. You would look at him as if he had grown an extra tentacle. In your head you weren't even a couple. Meanwhile, Floyd allegedly talked about it at virtually any occasion. You would go to him right away to explain it.

• Floyd wouldn't be moved by his favourite shrimpy yelling at him. After your tirade, he would ask how you wanted him to confess his feelings to you, completely unfazed. Whatever you say, he will do it. Do you want to put him to some test this way? No problem. For him, it might even be a confession made on the moon. His cleverness is not decoration. When he really cares about something (or someone), he will get it sooner or later.

• Ne, shrimpy... you better have the sweetest kiss in the world for his hardships. Once Floyd sticks to you, you won't get rid of him easily...

Silver • Meeting in the forest

• Silver's fairy tale moment would be related to the forest. That's one of his favourite places to nap. Not everyone has the opportunity to wake up to the sounds of someone else's singing. Would it be the best voice in the world? No way. But it wasn't unpleasant either. He would follow one of the less-traveled paths, listening all the time.

• Who wouldn't recognize the Prefect of Ramshackle dorm? Even if he didn't know you personally back then, he knew who you were right away. Grim was dancing somewhere right next to you, singing even worse than you. This was one of the very popular pieces. He realized much later that you probably didn't know much songs, not being from this world.

• What surprised him most was that the animals didn't run away from you at all. Usually, any loud behaviour of others in the forest would immediately scare them away. Meanwhile, his bird friends danced around your head, teasing Grim. Deer and squirrels watched curiously, partially hidden in the bushes and trees. When the bunny and its family started chewing on his pants and pulling him towards you, he realized that you must be someone special.

• He doesn't know how it happened but he instinctively finished the line you started, stepping out of the shadows. Maybe it was because his father played in a band and filled his head with every popular song. He just let it slip. You looked embarrassed that someone had caught you. You kidnapped Grim and disappeared before he could say anything.

• He couldn't quite explain it but he felt like he'd met you before. Once upon a dream...

Trey Clover • Falling Card Soldiers

• Trey is quite a composed person. After all, he holds an important position in Heartslabyul. He is not in the habit of mindlessly running through the corridors. That can't be said about you...

• Of course he knew you. Since the beginning of your adventure, you had spent time with the first years in his dorm. Plus, you came to rescue him and his friends when Riddle's overblot happened. Therefore, the sight of you running around the NRC, whether to catch Grim or to deal with matters that the director despised, no longer surprised him at all. You were everywhere and always on the run.

• However, he did not expect that when going to a unbirthday party, he would get hit right in the chest. And with your mischievous, beautiful face on top of that. Riddle and Cater walked right next to him. That's why, when you, Ace, Deuce and Grim ran into them just behind a large rose bush, you couldn't slow down. You fell on top of each other like a giant sandwich. There were muffled screams, complaints and something about beheading everyone.

However, he had to react, because the face of the prefect of Heartslabyul was equally red and he was already preparing a punishment for all those who came late, while trying to make it out of the pile of students.

Leona Kingscholar • Hakuna matata

• Leona wasn't really into the whole circle of life thing and stuff about his homeland. In Sunset Savanna, everyone just talked about nature and refused most innovations. However, he had to admit that he quite liked this one slogan, the hakuna matata one. What was he supposed to worry about? He knows how to plan and is smart, and he lives a pretty comfortable life on top of that. Living without care, that's life.

• So why couldn't his favourite herbivore understand this? You were always running somewhere, dealing with dozens of different matters, often not even your own. That's why he had to explain it to you clearly one day. By explain he meant that you stay in his room and don't go anywhere. Time to relax. Ruggie prepared food and blankets for you so you both could have a movie marathon.

• He listened to your concerns before the movie. Suddenly you remembered a million things you still needed to do. Homework, delivering photos to the principal, buying food for Grim... Leona covered you with a blanket and wrapped you up like a giant burrito. He told you to write down all these things and promised that they would be done by tomorrow (actually, Ruggie would make sure they were done but he was willing to make extra money...).

• You managed to shed some responsibility for the evening and had a really good time. Hakuna matata!

Deuce Spade

• Ace would have realized what was happening to Deuce faster than him. Spade had always liked you very much but he didn't even realize when his feelings started to go in a completely different direction. He stopped seeing you as just a friend and started to imagine what it would be like if you spent even more time together alone. Which with your friends always looking for trouble was really hard.

• Ace would come up with several potential plans, each of which would backfire. The flowers? Ruined by Grim. The letter? Misplaced somewhere. Everything would turn against Deuce. His friend, tired of it all, would tell him to just get a grip because he had no more options.

• To say Deuce was shaking the whole way to you would be an understatement. But in the end, he decided he had to be himself. Deuce wanted you to love him like that. So he went exactly as he was, at night when the thought occurred to him. In his pajamas, during curfew in Heartslabyul. He figured he'd admit it to the prefect in the morning, like an honor student.

• When you opened the door for him, he said what was in his heart in one breath. He promises to love you just the way you are. Because he knows he's not perfect himself. He'll try to change, for you. Hard work is his specialty. So give him a chance and you definitely won't be disappointed.

Lilia Vanrouge

• This would be a confession that would survive many trials. From the very beginning, something drew you to him. Maybe because, as it turned out later, Lilia is a completely different student than everyone else at NRC. Because of his flirtatious behaviour, it is easy to perceive it as fun. Something seemingly non-binding. As if everything was fleeting for him because after all, he had lived so many years. That is why you would have to wait for a real, sincere: I love you.

• When he announced he was leaving school, you were devastated. Here he was, announcing the news to everyone and you were standing at his farewell party, looking him straight in the eye with boundless sadness. Lilia truly believed it was for the best. Until Malleus decided to put everyone, including you, into eternal sleep.

Jack Howl

• Jack, like the rest of the first years, doesn't fully understand romantic love yet. He's grasping it on a theoretical level, which doesn't mean he has any experience with it. It'll take him a while to get to the point where he realizes he's chosen you as the object of his affections. You could even say that the situation will force him to do so.

• He grew up believing that the person he loves will be with him for life. This is what his parents passed on to him and he will stick to it.

• The first moment he clearly realized that he was treating you differently was when you and Grim were attacked. Several NRC students had a bad day and decided to take it out on the innocent, non-magical prefect. When he saw that, he only gave one warning. Right after that, in the blink of an eye, the white wolf scattered the unpleasant attackers. Of course, he would do that for anyone he considered a friend. However, the violence with which he reacted surprised him. You can be sure that after this situation, he would gently check if everything was okay with you. Any scratch? He'll carry you back to the dormitory on piggyback. Just don't comment on it as openly as Grim did, or Jack will turn red.

• When Idia met you for the first time, he felt like he had gone blind. It was a bit like staring straight into the sun. You reminded him of Kalim Al-Asim — everywhere at once, loud and not very respectful of personal space. You were like an MC in an anime. Always looking at things positively, facing every obstacle life threw at you with a smile.

• Idia wasn’t too keen on becoming friends with you. Besides, he usually only saw you through his tablet screen. If you were the sun, then he was the moon. He felt comfortable hiding away in his dorm with his gears and passions. It wasn’t until you saved him from his Overblot that he started seeing your persistence and openness in a different light. With a hint of envy, he realized how easily you made friends.

• Shroud never expected you to get everyone to play one of his favourite games. Sitting on the couch with a controller in his hand, he looked at you in disbelief. At that moment, watching your smile, he thought that maybe you weren’t blinding at all — just warm. And maybe… he wanted to bask in your light.

• He didn’t even notice how, after that incident, he slowly started following your lead. The real shock came when, one day, in his room, you admitted that you were utterly exhausted. Carrying the weight of all the responsibilities the headmaster had dumped on you had finally taken its toll. Without thinking much, Idia called Crowley a noob and a final boss in one. Then, he told you to do the same. This strange little ranting session somehow helped you let off some steam. Right after, Idia declared that you had the rest of the day off. If anyone came knocking, including the headmaster, Ortho would take care of it. Idia pulled out a stash of snacks and put on one of his favourite comfort series. Wrapped up in a blanket like a burrito, you could finally let your guard down — at least for a little while.

Floyd Leech • Kabedon

• Floyd doesn’t understand the concept of personal space. He’s always right next to you, squeezing his little shrimp to the brink of suffocation. By now, you’ve gotten used to it.

• So it was no surprise when one day, in the school library, he pulled a kabedon on you. The two of you stood behind one of the towering bookshelves. The librarian had seen him come in and was now searching for him with frantic determination, loudly calling out his name. He had quite a few overdue books piled up — not that he had actually read them...

• Floyd pressed a finger to your lips, effectively silencing the protests that were about to escape them. His broad shoulders blocked out your view and his hand landed right next to your head. The only thing you could see was his face, adorned with a mischievous grin. You wanted to wipe it off him but your heart was beating faster and faster. The distance between you kept shrinking and you could feel his quickened breath.

• Dust particles danced in the air. There was a faint scent of the sea lingering in your nostrils. Leech looked like he was having the time of his life as the librarian passed by, missing you both by mere inches. The moment she was gone, he stepped away as if nothing had happened, vanishing before you could even collect yourself. Almost unconsciously, you touched your warm cheeks, trying to shake yourself out of the trance.

Chapter Text

Lilia Vanrouge

• His signature trait is a scream with a capital "S." He has gathered a massive following of metal and rock fans. You could say he has attracted enough to form a mini fandom within the entire band.

• You stand up for him with the producers every time he wants to add another heavy track to the new album. He finds it incredibly amusing to drop these kinds of ideas on you without warning. Not too long ago, he brought it up in front of the board, watching your reaction with great interest. His long, drawn-out laughter always follows.

• Lilia loves pulling pranks on set while filming music videos. He also has an uncanny ability to jump out unexpectedly and scare people. You worry that one day you might actually have a heart attack.

• His symbol is a bat. It’s not only on his guitar but he also released a series of black plush toys that everyone adores and buys in droves.

• Lilia hates bright sunlight and early wake-ups. Sometimes, you have to obsessively call him just to get him up for rehearsals — especially when he’s stayed up late playing games, which he often streams for his fans.

• He once participated in a cooking show for publicity, saying it might be fun. He completely burned what he had in the pan and got eliminated right at the start. Since then, you and the rest of the band have kept him away from the kitchen as much as possible.

Cater Diamond

• The most media-savvy member of the band. If you need content for social media, he’s the first person you ask. A quick photo? He’s taken three. A video? He has a compilation of funny bloopers. A post? He knows all the trending hashtags.

• His signature symbol is a diamond — the same one that shines on his cheek every day. It’s also featured on his merch, from hats and shirts to jewelry.

• He has a very interesting relationship with the fans. He often engages in conversations with them longer than he should. He also signs an excessive number of autographs. If you left him alone with a phone, he would never refuse a selfie.

• Cater struggles with his self-esteem. He never lets anyone see it but the entertainment industry weighs on him, even though he’s addicted to it. One day, you found him in tears, scrolling through hateful comments. He had hidden away after a long day of rehearsals in the back of the recording studio. You’ll never forget how tightly he held onto you, soaking your sweater and apologizing over and over. You knew that, even though he looked beautiful in your eyes, it might be hard for him to believe it himself, so you just sat there in silence.

• Cater sometimes plays quiet songs and sings them only for those closest to him — including you. That’s when he shows a sensitive side he usually keeps hidden. His songs reflect his emotions and his inner world.

• Since he always keeps up with the latest trends, he’s the easiest to work with when shooting music videos. He knows how to dress fashionably, apply makeup and often has plenty of helpful ideas.

Kalim Al-Asim

• The brightest sunshine of the band and its heart. He was the one who gathered his friends long ago and, for fun, pulled them into playing instruments. Joy has always been his priority. He treats working with the agency as a great adventure but he would leave in a heartbeat if his friends ever felt unhappy with fame. Whether it’s a garage behind the house or the bright lights of an international stage, it makes him just as happy.

• Drumming is his way of channeling the incredible energy inside him. He often changes its look, decorating it with stickers and swapping out his drumsticks.

• Kalim is quite innocent, which leads to many funny situations. Fans make a huge number of memes with him as the main character but he loves them and enjoys the laughter they bring.

• His innocence, unfortunately, also makes him vulnerable to danger. More than once, famous idols or paparazzi have tried to use him for scandals to boost their own publicity. Luckily, since you’ve been on guard, you catch on in time and swat them away like flies.

• Sometimes, he does things that cross professional boundaries but you don’t always have the heart to tell him. Especially when he’s so happy — hugging you or encouraging you to sing a few lines of a new song with him. Kalim always makes sure to mention you when it’s time to give thanks while accepting various awards.

• As the son of wealthy merchants, he has inherited their talent for clever negotiation. You’ve lost count of how many times he’s casually, yet diplomatically, negotiated higher rates for album sales or performances.

Heartslabyul

• Nothing screams Riddle quite like Don’t Lose Ur Head from Six: The Musical. He may not have Anne Boleyn’s humorous approach to the subject but his unique spell literally leaves people with something like a lock around their neck. And let’s be real — he’s the first one to “lose his head” when he explodes and serves the players their first Overblot on screen.

• Dancing Through Life from Wicked is Ace. The song is about how nice it is to drift through life without obligations and just have fun. And then there’s a huge BUT, which not everyone catches unless they listen closely to the wordplay and hidden meaning. In reality, Fiyero, who sings it, does care — maybe too much. He just doesn’t want to show it and that’s exactly how Trappola is. He keeps complaining about Deuce and Yuu, and yet in the end he drops everything in Book 3 to check what’s going on. He’s always there when it counts.

• Anybody Have a Map? from Dear Evan Hansen is Deuce. It’s a complicated mother’s song about a child she doesn’t quite know how to help. Sounds familiar. Deuce had his years when he wasn’t a model student — in fact, he was a delinquent, so that’s putting it lightly. His mother was probably going through the same struggle, trying to talk sense into him. Just like Connor, Deuce couldn’t deal with the baggage in his own head.

• Cater would be perfect with The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman. He’s the kind of guy who can start a party all by himself. He has the charisma for it. He loves photos, knows exactly what’s going on around him and the spotlight is where he turns on his illusion and pulls others into it. But beneath all that lies a person who still feels like he isn’t enough for the people around him. He embodies all of P. T. Barnum’s contradictions.

• Stick to the Status Quo from High School Musical is my unusual pick for Trey. But let’s be honest — he’s theoretically held back by the roles he’s fallen into. The “caring older brother” trope. As vice housewarden of Heartslabyul, he’s a great organizer and keeps the younger students in line. But every now and then his other side shows — the one that likes to joke around or mislead someone, simply because no one would believe it was him. This song perfectly fits those moments when he briefly breaks out of his set mold, does something unexpected, and then jumps back into it.

Savanaclaw

• With Leona, intelligence and cunning had to appear. Chess is just a bonus. Stalemate from Death Note: The Musical. The slow unraveling of an opponent, battles fought mainly in the mind. Kingscholar has an innate talent for predicting moves ahead, just like Kira and L. What he shares with Kira as well is pride that’s incredibly hard for him to swallow.

• Seize the Day from Newsies is Jack. The newsboys waking up at dawn are just like Howl getting up early to train his running. You can’t deny his perseverance. And there’s also a brotherhood in this song that he himself strives for in the game. We know canonically his dream was of a tightly united Savanaclaw. That’s the kind of team he hoped for when he joined the dorm (spoiler: it didn’t work out… ekhem, ekhem…). I think, just like the newspaper kids, he’d be ready for a revolt if he was sure the cause was just. In the story, he wasn’t afraid to go against the grain when he saw injustice.

• Ruggie has the perfect song that ties directly to his unique spell: Die Fäden in der Hand from Rudolf: The Mayerling Affair. It’s about manipulating others so no one notices. That’s exactly how Bucchi uses his powers. Under the guise of politeness, he’ll swipe your sandwich and you’ll still be wondering how he did it. He’s full of street smarts that can fool just about anyone, pulling strings from behind the curtain.

Octavinelle

• No one can tell me Azul doesn’t sound like Money, Money, Money from Mamma Mia! Even if he doesn’t have much in common with Donna, the song itself is spot on. Money drives his world, and he devotes a huge part of his life to his business. That would be his anthem at the start of his career — before he managed to open the Mostro Lounge — looking longingly toward visions of wealth.

• They’re Only Human from Death Note: The Musical is Floyd and Jade’s perspective on people. On one hand, huge curiosity about what it’s like to actually be human. On the other, a slight condescension. Floyd once mentioned his disappointment with how physically weak humans are. Still, that doesn’t erase the twins’ fascination. We know Jade is impressed with Earth’s flora, among other things, which is why his club even exists.

• A second option for the twins is Cell Block Tango from Chicago. That quiet rage lurking over the shoulder. The absolute lack of remorse for the decisions they’ve made, putting themselves in the center. “They had it coming, because they annoyed me,” Floyd would probably say while squeezing people around him. I imagine Jade has the same streak deep down. He’d just do what needed to be done more quietly.

Scarabia

• Open Arms from Epic: The Musical is definitely Kalim. He greets the world with open arms, just like Polites. He sees the bright side of things and approaches everyone with an open mind. He’s just as naïve in how he views the world. Just like in the song, he tries to convince Jamil of his outlook — with rather cynical results.

• Jamil, looking at everything he’ll never have in his entire life. The pick here is Satisfied from Hamilton. Viper, too, stands on the sidelines like Angelica, raising toasts and pretending everything is fine when it isn’t. Despite how intelligent he is and how many roles he could succeed in if given the chance, he stays in the shadows. He feels like life was stolen from him by others.

Pomefiore

• Vil is Wait for It from Hamilton. He waited his whole life. Worked as hard as Burr, who sings the song, always waiting for the right moment. And that moment never came, because even in the middle of his successful career, he still felt like he’d never be as good as Neige. Being second place eats at him. Vil points out their differences many times in the series. And yet they keep passing each other by — because the story strongly wants it that way. Just like in the musical, he’s cast more as the villain, while Neige is tied to main-character roles like Hamilton.

• Beautiful from Heathers: The Musical sounds like Rook. First of all, he isn’t entirely good or bad, much like Veronica. He’s willing to go far to protect those he cares about but still has a conscience. He’s also kind enough to stand out in a school where simple politeness is constantly trampled. At NRC, most care about their own interests and few are nice without a reason. Rook still sees the titular beauty in people. He’s a keen observer and was ready to oppose Vil to help him. He’d probably face JD too, if it came to that.

• Epel embodies rebellion and contradictions. Do You Hear the People Sing? from Les Misérables feels like the natural match. His entire arc of rebelling against Vil keeping him in line calls that song to mind. Even if he eventually finds a middle ground, that rebel note rings in him for much of the game. Much like Marius, he’s torn between two aspects (being “macho” or being cute) before finally working out his own compromise.

Ignihyde

• Two-Player Game from Be More Chill is literally the Shroud brothers. Michael’s approach throughout the song is Ortho’s — hyping his brother up that school will one day be super fun. He looks to the future with hope. Even if Idia isn’t popular now and only has him as a friend, one day everything will change for the better. Idia, on the other hand, is Jeremy — cynically brushing off his vision.

• Who would fit Michael in the Bathroom from Be More Chill better than Idia? Shroud hates parties. In fact, he’s afraid of most human contact. The idea of being left at a house party without his comfort person by his side would inevitably end with a panic attack in the bathroom.

Or wish I offed myself instead
Wish I was never born.” — There isn’t a line that better describes what he’s been through.

Diasomnia

• No One Mourns the Wicked from Wicked sounds exactly like Malleus. Like Elphaba, he goes through a difficult life simply because he was born different (and not just because he’s somewhat green…). He’s too powerful for his world, and that’s the root of all his problems. A deeply lonely character who only trusts a handful of people. He changes under Yuu’s influence, just like Elphaba under Glinda in the original. I think he’s convinced that very few would mourn him — especially after he put an entire continent to sleep. On top of that, he shares Elphaba’s awkwardness and lack of understanding of human customs. And of course — they both fly on brooms!

• Lilia would be perfect with a song that shows his playful side but also hides the hardships of his life. Say My Name from Beetlejuice feels like a good choice. He’d have a great time teasing the demon over and over about whether he’ll actually say his name. Lydia didn’t have an easy life — she lost her mother, which mirrors Lilia’s own personal tragedy of losing the people he loved.

• I Have a Dream from Mamma Mia! Above all, the motif of dreams — and as we know, Silver is built around that concept. The entire song is dreamy and fairytale-like. Silver, like Sophie, wants to overcome hardships to live a peaceful life. I can imagine him singing it to all his forest friends, then lying under a tree to take a nap.

• Sebek reminds me of Legendary from Epic: The Musical. He, too, is young and eager for a chance to prove himself, just like Telemachus. With his knightly training, he’s essentially waiting for the chance to deal with obstacles on Malleus’s path. He also has a strong sense of justice and loyalty. He would certainly defend women (like Penelope in the original), bound by his knight’s code. He loves books dearly, so his imagination would take him straight to the mythological monsters described in the song.
