Chapter Text
Kevin starred in surprise when he returned home from practice together with Andrew and Neil, just to find his whole team bundled up in the lounge. Not only that, but there was mattresses strewn about as well. Most surprising, Andrew and Neil did not seem taken aback at all - Clearly they were aware of what had been planned.
“Come sit down!” Dan said. “We’re about to put a movie on.”
“We’ve got snacks and everything,” Nicky added, because he never passed up an opportunity to make a round of buttered popcorn.
“What’s the meaning of this?” Kevin asked as he approached.
“It’s been a month since the game,” Allison said. “I think we all need a break.”
Kevin frowned, but he approached his team and sat down where Matt and Renee shifted to the side to make space for him on one of the mattresses. He sat down while Andrew and Neil took place on the outskirts of the newly formed fox pile.
“So what movie?” Kevin asked.
“Well, a little bird told us you haven’t seen basically any of the classics,” Matt said. “So we’re going to educate you a bit. Tonight is going to be the Lord of The Rings marathon.”
“And how long is that going to take?” Kevin asked.
“Oh you don’t want to know,” Aaron said.
“Just tune in for the ride,” Nicky added, and raised the remote to start the movie.
Kevin sighed and leaned a bit back, using the couch behind him as backlean, and started watching.
Things were going to be very different now. But maybe it wasn’t so bad after all.
