Chapter Text

“Why does everyone act so surprised?” Alfred pouted, not realizing that France was aiming his gun towards his head. Arthur’s eyes widened as he rushed forward.

“I’m not letting you get into the way of taking this land, mon ami…” France pulled the trigger, as Arthur jumps in the way.

“No!” The bullet nailed him in the chest as he fell back onto the ground.

“Arthur!” Wales rushed forward along with the other two brothers. “You shot him!”

“He stepped right – right into it! It’s his own fault!” France defended, backing away from the three brothers.

“Looks like Artie was right all along.” Scotland said, snuffing out his cigarette.

“We never should have listened to you!” Ireland spoke up, glaring at him.

“Get the gun.” Scotland stated as Ireland knocked the gun out of France’s hand. Scotland then grabbed France before he could grab his gun or run away.

“Traitors! Unhand me, I say, how dare you!” France struggled.

“Put him in chains!” Wales ordered, as some soldiers ran off to go grab some.

“I’ll see you all hanged for this!” France glared at Wales, who just rolled his eyes.

“Can we gag him as well?” Wales asked.

This was the day you were regretting from the beginning. Arthur would be heading back to England, along with his brothers. But there was something else different about this ending. Alfred would also be going with him back to England.

You looked out of the cover of trees to see Wales, Alfred, and Arthur talking, they seemed serious and you finally decided to head to them for your final goodbye. Wales spotted you first and must have read your mind.

“Going back is his only chance, he’ll die if he stays here.” He said, looking down at his younger brother, but headed to the ship to help set everything up. Alfred smiled a little, but backed off from the two of you, so you could be somewhat alone.

“Here. It’s from one of the Hidden Glen’s trees. It’ll help with the pain.” You said, kneeling down next Arthur, holding out a cloth covered bark. It should last him the next week or so.

“What pain? I’ve had worse pain than this. Can’t think of any right now, but…” He trailed off, causing you to laugh a little.

“You are always welcome among our people. Thank you, my brother.” Your dad walked up, bowing his head a little to Arthur. Alfred decided to butt in to run up to you and hug you.

“Sorry, but I was getting tired of waiting… and I’m really going to miss you…” You looked down at him surprised, but slowly smiled and hugged the little nation back.

“I’m going to miss you, too, Al…” After a couple of minutes he pulled away, blushing a little.

“I’m going to leave the two of you alone now… I’m probably going to go bug France.” He ran off, causing Arthur to chuckle.

“He’s defiantly going to be a handful.” He shook his head, but became serious as he looked to you. “Come with us?”

“You must choose your own path.” Your dad said once more, as he nodded once more before walking away. You looked to Arthur, who held a hopeful look in his eyes. Too bad that’s not how the story went.

“I’m needed here…” You said, looking down.

“Then I’ll stay with you.” He said, more determined than before. You chuckled a little and shook your head.

“No, you have to go back, Arthur…”

“But I can’t leave you.” He said. You looked up to meet his eyes. The same emerald eyes you saw the first time you met him.

“You never will. It may sound cliché, but… No matter what happens to me, I’ll always be with you… Forever...” He smiled a little as you quoted him.

“You know… We were interrupted when I tried to give you something before…” You looked at him confused, until you saw him sit up. He carefully took your face in his hands and then pressed his lips against yours. Your eyes slowly fluttered closed as you kissed back. His hands left your face, as he lied back down with you kissing him. Or so you thought.

You felt your head knock onto the wooden surface of the library table. You yelped as you held your stinging face. You looked up to see Jxk rolling her eyes and holding the fairytale book.

“Sorry, I didn’t feel like waking you up nicely.” She said, setting the book back down. “I’m ready to go, so you can go put the book back while I check out.”

“A-alright.” You stuttered as you took the book back. As you were walking back to the shelves, thoughts were spinning in your head. That couldn’t have all been a dream… could it? You placed the book back in the shelf, as you tried to make sense of everything. All that sense was lost as someone ran into you.

“Holy crap, Dude! I’m so sorry!” You looked up to meet the familiar blue eyes of an American. Except this time he was a teenager. He quickly helped you up, as you stood there stunned. “That wasn’t very heroic, but there’s no time for introductions! But could I ask a quick favor?!”

“Uh… sure?”

“Great! Can you distract Iggy-brows for a moment?!” Before you could answer he ran off again. You looked after him stunned that a Hetalia character was here in real life… Wait… Did he say Iggy? Oh. My. Gosh. You looked to the direction he ran from to see the British man you were thinking of turn the corner.

“I swear Alfred, if you cause anymore problems, I’ll-“ He about choked when he looked up to see you. “-___?!”

“Wait, you know me?” You asked, bewildered.

“Of course, you were in my dream- I mean! It was, er… a guess?” He answered sheepishly, blushing a bit. Once he said dream, you knew exactly what he meant. You slowly walked up to him and then cautiously took his hand, but he didn’t pull back.

“You were in my dream, too…” You said softly. He let out a huge sigh of relief, as his arms slowly wrapped around you.

“Good. You kept your promise…” He chuckled.

“… And I’m so grateful to you…” You softly sang. You pulled away to see him smile, with a larger blush now.

“… I’d have lived my whole life through…” He cupped your face, again and leaned forward, recapturing your lips.

Extended Ending:

Jxk was checking her book out, when all of a sudden a strong force collided into her.
"Whoa! Sorry, dude! Today is not my day!" Alfred chuckled, helping her up.
"Totally alright, you seemed like you were in a rush." Jxk chuckled.
"Yeah, trying to get away from my adopted, older brother. Hey, you're leaving right now, right?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Can I hitch a ride with you?" He begged, giving his signature puppy pout.
"Well, I'm waiting for a frie-" She stopped midsentence once she spotted ___ and Arthur making out in the back of the library. "You know what? Let's go."
With that they hurried out of there.
