Chapter 2: The Revelation

Summary:

Doctor hears some news about the body found in P-YanYan's dungeon.

Chapter Text

Doctor was sweeping the floors in his lab as he waited for the mail to arrive. He heard what happened with YanYan, and how traumatizing her experience was. He felt terrible. He didn't know how else to help her, he wasn't a therapist. However, he was glad she had at least someone to help her through this, and that someone was MeeMee. He was wise, yes, but MeeMee was also gentle and kind, she was better than everyone else at comforting others when needed.

Suddenly, he spotted the mailmonkey putting something in his mailbox.

"Finally," he thought to himself as he paused what he was doing to go get the mail. He set his broom down and exited his lab and walked to his mailbox, the mailmonkey already being at the next mailbox at that point.

He opened the mailbox and pulled out a couple of envelopes, as well as some newspaper, the latter being what he was waiting for all morning.

He went back inside and sat down on his chair and began reading the newspaper. He liked reading it, it was most certainly better watching the news. At least, that's what he believed.
He read the headlines, looking for something interesting, but stopped when he saw something dreadful.

The headline he read was about the dead body discovered at the palace.

"DECEASED SUBJECT IN P-YANYAN'S PALACE IDENTIFIED"

He read through it and spotted the name, and quickly booted up his computer, eagar to know who the person was. It was old and ran slow, but to him it was better than modern technology.

Once he finished booting it up, he opened the browser and searched up the name of the dead person, and froze in place when he found out who the person really was:

YanYan's biological mother.

He couldn't believe it. Her own mother? Found dead in P-YanYan's dungeon? How was that possible?

"This can't be real," he thought, "this isn't real."

From the corner of his eye, he could see GonGon walking past his lab. He quickly walked outside and up to him.

"GonGon," he called after him.

"Hey, Doc, what's up?" He smiled, but then read his expression. His smile faded. "Is something wrong?"

"It's, uh— come with me."

He followed him into his lab. Doctor had to show him, to make sure he was reading it right.

They both went inside. Doctor pointed out the headline in the newspaper and the name he searched up, which was in the newspaper.

"That's YanYan's biological mother," Doctor said, pointing directly at the screen and looking at GonGon in the eyes.

GonGon looked at the screen. He tried to hold back tears as he thought about YanYan. How would she take this information? It would be terrible, finding her own mother dead in the basement. Dead for days.

He and Doctor looked at each other.

"How do we tell her?"
