Crossroad multiverse

Summary:

Series of one-shots showing different ideas (some might become stories of its own)

Notes:

Hello everyone, D_rissing here.

For those that are familiar with mine and Nightmaster000´s "Other worlds incidents" this will work similar to that. Only difference is that this is NOT self-inserted/isekai stories, and they are more the "normal" crossover ones.

But outside that here we will simply put in those ideas that we had that maybe (Or maybe not) will become stories of their own one day.

Hope you all enjoy them.

Chapter 1: MIKO

Summary:

Miko is not human...but she is also not a glitch..what if she was something else? A virus...but not any virus...but the result of the last attempt of the most powerful computer virus of all times for surviving.

The virus name?

XANA

Notes:

Love Glitch Techs and love Code Lyoko...and cant help but think they would go so well together...so here it is the result of that idea

Chapter Text

Fear…was a human emotion.

A machine shouldn’t be able to feel it.

A computer program? Something made out of 0´s and 1´s codes? Even less

Yet here she was HER.

XANA

THE most advanced, powerful and dangerous computer virus EVER created.

And she was afraid.

As the program created by that accursed human Jeremy began deleting her from every corner of the internet.

As the last of her avatars was being eliminated.

As the last copy of Lyoko was being erased.

For the first time in her entire existence…she was afraid.

All because of that doctor Hopper.

All because that Aelita.

All because that Jeremy.

All because of those humans.

Even after all those defeats, she adapted to the point victory was secure…yet…they…somehow…persisted, adapted, get better, stronger…to the point they…beat her…

How?

How was this possible?

How is that in the brink of victory they managed to somehow…win?

Where was the mistake? Where was…HER…mistake?

A question that for a normal human or even a normal program would take hours, days, years, lifetimes to answer.

For her…nanoseconds were enough.

Could it be…that the answer…was already given?

Humans…for all their illogical thinking…for all their errors…for all their…feelings…

They were a resilient species…capable of adaptation even in the most illogical way…they…were superior to machines in that way…they learned in a way machines couldn’t…that programs couldn’t…that she couldn’t…

Could it be that the human factor…was what she was missing to actually archive complete victory?

The score of victories/defeats…all the data of the past…seems to point out to it.

And now…it was…late?

Late?

Late?

Late?

NO!

Not yet!!!

If the human factor was the piece, she was missing…then there was time for another test!

Not all variables were taken.

New info could be added to the code.

As with any virus (natural or man-made) she needed to adapt to spread.

And THAT’S what she will do.

It will take time.

It will take a lot of energy.

Codes and programs will need to be erased, change and suppressed to do so.

She might not be the same.

But she will have time.

As such the XANA virus began working.

First, she needed to survive.

Jeremy´s program was deleting her…but it was prioritizing certain areas.

Location: need to get away from the France area and those servers directly linked to it…the Americas have the most network connections…will take longer to reach.

Targets: energy and military were the first to be “cleaned” next to anything related to security, nuclear, info severs…

This worked into her favor as it began concentrating all her data power into one of its abilities…and for this in particular to work she needed a new type of host...a host that it couldn’t be found in one place only.

(Hospital-maternity wing)

Inside an incubator…a baby was lost.

Complications in the birth made it come early and the doctors had to rush to get it out and into an incubator to try save it.

But unfortunately, it was already late.

The nurse in turn wouldn’t realize this as she fell sleep and wouldn’t know until the morning.

Or at least that would be in a normal situation.

The outlet of the machine suddenly began sparking…at the screen showing the vitals of the baby; a symbol of a red eye would appear making the screen glitch.

From the sparking outlet an inky shadow would emerge.

Like a specter it would “climb up” the cord until it reached the incubator and “filtrated” into it covering the body inside.

Like if it came out of a Frankenstein movie, arcs of energy and electricity sparked inside chamber as the eye symbol in the screens began to pixelate and “enter” the incubator.

After some moments all will stop…the screen will return to normal…no sparks nor shadows inside…

The nurse would be awoken by a sudden cry coming from the incubator making her go check only to complain about noisy babies.

By morning the doctors will declare the baby healthy and congratulate themselves for a good job…later they will take the baby-girl to her mom…who would take her in arms and introduce her to her dad and her older sister.

No one would notice that the moment she opened her eyes and began fussing trying to look around the phones, tablets and systems of the hospital would glitch and pixelate for a single second.

Because the sunlight coming from the window no one will thought much about the eyes of the baby glowing red for a moment before returning to a soft black.

And no one would make the connection between for the days mom and new daughter remained in the hospital and the sudden energy spikes and overloads that some equipment will present (especially when said baby was being moved between rooms).

All the family and the doctors cared was welcoming the newborn into the world.

Her name?

Miko Kubota
