GHOST

Chapter 2: PART TWO

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

No matter how shocking it is to discover that you are a ghost, you eventually get used to the feeling.

It was also fun to observe the hero classes led by All Might. 1-A was full of powerful quirks, even if she excluded the green-haired boy's quirk in the flashes.

It makes her wonder why he didn't get into the class.

But even still, the battle training was fun! She believes she would've enjoyed doing it as well.

Not long after, the class voted on class representatives, who became Yaoyorozu followed by Shiozaki. In both the flashes and reality, Iida was disappointed that he wasn't voted for.

She was happy that in at least one world, he got what he wanted. Thanks to the green-haired boy.

He really did fascinate her.

A bit later, the class went to the USJ, which apparently stood for "Unforeseen Simulation Joint" and not "Universal Studios Japan". She was glad she wasn't the only one to get it confused.

She was very happy that her favorite hero, Thirteen was the staff member in charge of the place.

She never got to ask for an autograph...

Her thoughts stopped when she saw a portal open up. A person stepped out covered head to toe in hands. Like, just the hands.

The man asked for All Might, and seemingly threw a tantrum. "He's like a child," commented Uraraka. However, that child had the power to command that the students be teleported away.

As the teacher, who was named Aizawa, started to fight the monster, Uraraka felt odd. "Is that how I looked?" she asked as his head was rammed into the ground.

Thankfully the pro heroes came for the students. Why didn't they come for me?

----------

Aizawa slightly glared at Nedzu.

The rat-bear-dog thing had visited him in his hospital room and told him that UA was continuing with the Sports Festival.

"Now I understand you may have concerns-"

"Of course I have concerns Nedzu. A potential hero student died at the entrance exam, and villains attacked the campus. I don't believe that the Sports Festival would be the best idea."

"I can see how you would have these opinions, given your current predicament." Nedzu gestured to the medical wrappings. "However, I believe that this will be the perfect opportunity to show that UA is still strong."

"That is the most idiotic reason I have heard."

"Aizawa, I promise I am taking precautions to make the Sports Festival safe for the students involved."

"And how are you doing that?"

"I am making sure that security is going to be as extensive as possible. And I have made the decision not to televise the event. Only those in the stands will be allowed to watch, and they will be restricted on video use."

"I... suppose that could work."

"I told you it would. But one more thing."

Aizawa looked slightly curious.

"I believe we should have a moment of silence for the girl, at least for the 1st years. After all, she would've been a participant."

Aizawa didn't need to be reminded of who he was talking about. The video constantly played in his head. "I agree."

----------

As Uraraka followed Iida outside of the school, her vision shifted to the green-haired boy with red shoes. He was beside a girl with blonde hair.

"Ugh! I can't believe that they're still holding the Sports Festival! I thought I could get out of competing with the hero kids!" said the blonde girl.

She disappeared when she blinked.

"You just don't want to compete with, who was it, Togata?" said the boy.

"Duh! That boy ends up naked every Sports Festival when he uses his quirk cause the stupid teachers never let him use his hero suit! I'm just glad this is my last year."

The girl then held her hand to the boy's ear. "And word has it that he has a new super powerful part of his quirk."

The boy pulled away. "Well, I'm glad I don't have to deal with that."

"But Izuku, you're being pitted against a bunch of quirk users. Isn't that a bit unfair?"

"So that's his name..." Uraraka thought. That name felt, familiar.

Izuku just smirked. "It's called not trying Himiko. I don't stand a chance being quirkless. Besides, General Studies gets no benefit from the Sports Festival. At least you get to show off your Support Course stuff."

That name felt familiar as well. But, she never met them. And she would definitely remember a blonde in Japan.

----------

Uraraka was very much looking forward to the Sports Festival. It was always a fun thing to watch with her parents.

She always wanted to compete...

She decided to sit where class 1-A was assigned, though she was alone for now. And she wasn't exactly sitting, but close enough.

As Ochako watched the opening ceremonies and the students walking in, she couldn't help but feel envious.

She wanted to be with those students so badly.

It was truly torture.

From her seat, she watched the principal walk up to the stand.

"Welcome students to the Sports Festival! I am Principal Nedzu, and I am here with an important announcement before we begin."

Nedzu's face suddenly dropped from his smile and happy character. "As many have been made aware, a young girl died a few months ago at UA's Entrance Exam."

Ochako stared at the stand. "In honor of the fact that she would've been a student participating this year, I would like to request that we take a moment of silence for the girl."

During that minute, Uraraka could not move. None of this happened in the flashes she saw. Which, to be fair, was to be expected from past experiences.

Sometimes, she really couldn't help but wonder why the world was so cruel to her and made her watch what could have been her life.

What did she do?

However, as soon as the minute started it had ended. The festival was in full swing.

----------

Nothing was really different in the flashes for the first two rounds. She did seem close to the green haired boy (who the big screen in the flashes told her was named "Izuku Midoriya").

His name was just so eerily familiar.

What was the main difference was the matches in the third round.

In the flashes, she was put up against Bakugou. In actuality, he was against the American girl Tsunotori.

She also noticed that the tail guy in 1-A was against a purple haired boy she had never seen. But flash wise, he was against Midoriya.

To fight him, the tail guy just beat the crap out of him without saying a word. The other guy had bruises all over him.

Bakugo easily beat Tsunotori, blowing up her horns every time they came close to him. He eventually knocked her out.

Honestly, the outcomes of the fights weren't too different from the flashes, with the exception of Todoroki not using his fire. He had used it in the flashes, but not here.

And it was all because the green haired boy wasn't there.

By now, many of Class 1-A was sitting in the stands with her. The company was nice, and she got to see more of their personalities.

She believes they all would've been great friends.

But as the blue haired boy named Iida stood up to take a phone call, she felt, odd.

She couldn't explain it, but she had this feeling that something was going to go wrong at some point.

Ochako hoped she was wrong.

----------

The final rankings were the same as the flashes, which was nice to see for a change.

Iida hadn't returned.

But in the crowd of hero students, one word stood out to her.

"Internships".

That made the odd feeling worse.
