Chapter 37: Chapter 37

Summary:

Hawks and Dabi have a make up date. Dabi has his own doctor appointment.

Chapter Text

As much as their fight had taken it out of him, Dabi was feeling better now that he and Hawks had talked, and the movie night and cuddles definitely helped his mood. He got up early the next morning, doing his makeup and bringing Hawks some eggs and rice in bed. He was practically vibrating with excitement. He was gonna meet Hiroto, finally!

Hawks yawned softly as he woke up to breakfast. The hero smiled sheepishly seeing Dabi was all dressed up. “Wow you get up early to get all dolled up?” He cooed. “You look good,” he purred softly as he looked over his mate with a smirk. The blonde slowly sat up as he accepted the food and slowly started to eat it.

Dabi blushed, batting his eyes at Hawks. “You think so? I definitely don’t feel like someone’s dad. I don’t have to dress like some loser once he’s born, do I?” he asked teasingly.

Hawks grinned as he watched Dabi blush as him. “As long as people don’t start asking if you’re really with me then you can dress as sexy as you want.” He teased softly. He definitely looked like someone’s mom right now but hopefully that will change once he wasn’t so pregnant. He just didn’t want people thinking he was out of Dabis league.

Dabi snorted and kissed Hawks on the forehead, glad they were back to teasing each other. “I’m the one dating a model,” he cooed, ruffling his mate’s hair. “We still need to figure out bus passes or whatever today too. Maybe Geten would know? He doesn’t seem like he’d own a car,” Dabi mused.

Hawks blushed lightly as he was praised and kissed softly. The hero laughed softly as his hair was ruffled. “Yeah but it looks like he uses his quirk for that. I would too if I had ice,” he reasoned. He seemed to be sliding around when they first saw him. “I’m sure he knows how though,” he assured Dabi as he finished up his food. He needed to get dressed but he was still sleepy.

Dabi snorted again, nodding his head. “Still, he’s basically our welcome committee. He’s gotta know something. God his quirk is sweet. Fire fucking sucks. Only thing it’s good for now that I can’t murder people is keeping you warm,” he complained, stretching his back. “I can’t believe I get to hear his little pulse. I wish they could tell us more about his wings. I wanna know when he’s gonna fly and what they’re gonna look like and shit,” he whined.

Hawks nodded as he slowly climbed out of bed and yawned. “I’m sure he does. We can ask him when he gets here. Shouldn’t be hard to figure out ourselves if he can at least point us in the right direction,” he mumbled as he head towards their bathroom to wash his face. “Mm fire is pretty cool giving a lot of what I seen. It’s just straight forward you know?” He told the arson. Ice had its ups and downs too. “It’s amazing. I didn’t want to talk about it before sense you couldn’t be there but it makes me feel so happy to hear it,” the hero cooed delighted they could share it now. “Maybe they had other wing quirk babies here we could ask about,” he suggested as the blonde started to play with his hair.

Dabi nodded, leaning against the wall while Hawks got ready. He hoped so, anyway. He really didn’t want to mess up some critical thing and end up with a kid who didn’t like his cute little wings. “I bet it’s the best sound ever, at least until I get to hear you guys chirp at each other. I’m gonna die of cuteness,” he praised.

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi gush about them and the chirping, he would need to practice his vocalizing a bit. The hero brushed his teeth and made sure he looked a bit done up. If Dabi was dressing up a bit he wanted to at least make sure his hair was done. The winged hero headed to his clothes as he started to dig through them. He could still fit the shorts he got and it was a nice day so he would wear them and a T-shirt with their hoodie. As he pulled on his clothes he heard a knock at their door. Guess he got up just in time.

Dabi ran to get the door, almost excited to see Geten again despite himself. He was missing his siblings a lot, and while he was probably never gonna be super close to the guy the way he was his siblings, it was nice to have family other than Hawks here. “Yo, Geten, hey man,” he said happily as he opened the door.

Geten looked at Dabi slightly surprised seeing his cheery look. “Hey..” he said before tilting his head. “Are you ready to go?” He asked the arson before looking at the omega as he came out of the room. They both looked dressed at least. “You seem excited.” He said. This couldn’t be their first visit could it? Maybe it was Dabis first.

Dabi nodded, grabbing Hawks’ hand and holding it tightly. “Yeah, it’s my first time getting to come to one of these things. I’ve only seen the little photos of Hiroto,” he said excitedly.

Hawks smiled when Dabi took his hand before heading out the door with him. “I see. Well the hospital isn’t too far away. Are you able to walk?” Geten asked the blonde as he looked over him unsure. “Yeah I can walk. No problem,” Hawks assured the other omega. He had been resting a lot so it shouldn’t be a big deal. “Okay good,” Geten replied as he started to lead them out. He didn’t necessarily have to stay for all of this but he decided he would. It couldn’t hurt to see how these two fit in so far.

Dabi couldn’t believe this was his life, it felt too good to be true. “Do you guys have like a regular doctor I could see? I haven’t seen a doctor at all since All for One’s goons did whatever to me while I was in a coma,” he told Geten. “My brother, your cousin, Natsuo, he’s training to become a doctor, and he checked me out, but y’know. I wanna be healthy and be there for my pup and my mate and the cause,” he explained as they walked.

Geten hummed softly hearing his cousin before looking over him slightly. He gave a short nod. “Yes we can set something up. I’m not sure how much they could do for you, maybe heal your skin but I’m not sure of anyway to stop the burning when you use your quirk. They might know more,” the iced user explained as he led them from the building and towards the hospital. Most their public and important buildings were in this area, easier to defend. “I’m surprised you didn’t get an ice quirk stronger than resistance. Himura blood runs thick,” he said honestly surprised. Endeavor may have a strong quirk but the Himura clans blood has run pure for generations.

Dabi gave Hawks’ hand a big squeeze, glad there was at least some medical help he could get. “You and me both. I still keep waiting for it to manifest,” he grumbled. “But just the stupid fire. I wonder what Hiroto’s gonna get. So far he’s all mom,” he told Geten proudly.

Geten watched the two as he hummed. “It’s always possible. I had my awakening here, maybe it’s possible for you too. The blue flames came naturally right? Not from your accident?” He asked curiously. He knew a lot but not everything. The blue flame could have been his awakening in the face of death, or he was just powerful and could still have one.

Dabi smiled, glad someone was interested in his quirk and not in a way that was against it. “That’s all me. The accident was because I got upset. My flames are tied to my emotions? It’s not a psychic thing like Hawks’ feathers I don’t think, but their strength and what I can do with them and shit is all based on how I feel,” he told his cousin. “It’s taken a lot of training to get to the point where I can use them as well as I can now.”

Geten hummed softly in acknowledgment as he listened to the arson explanation. “Interesting. I wonder what a quirk awakening would look like for you. I can’t imagine what more heat would look like for you. Maybe it could boost your resistance?” He wondered. The ice user had a lot of appreciation for quirks and liked to try and understand them as much as he could on the most basic of levels. “I am mostly self taught as well. But the Liberation gave me much more resources to help me along,” he admitted. He owed a lot to them and letting him reach his full potential.

Dabi nodded alongside Geten’s words. It felt so strange and so good to have someone care about his quirk and think it was awesome. “Maybe you could give me some pointers or something, we could see if there’s any ice in me. My brother would be psyched,” he said fondly, missing Shoto already. The teen would love having something more in common with him.

Geten smirked slightly hearing Dabi. He would actually like that. “Sure. We have a training area under the complex. We can go down there and I can see what you are working with,” he told the arson. He would be delighted to help a teammate awaken their quirk like he had.

Dabi gave Hawks a starstruck look, so excited to get a chance to use his quirk again. He needed to learn how to master his quirk for Hiroto’s sake. Who knew what he’d end up with. If he got even better at controlling and using his quirk then he might hurt himself less too. “Fuck yeah, sounds like a plan,” he agreed readily.

Hawks gave the ice user a surprised look. Underground? They must have a base down there. He wondered how far it went. It could be under the whole city for all he knew. He gave Dabi as warm smile hearing his excitement and seeing his delighted look. “If you mastered your quirk even more than now. We would be unstoppable together. Not even the number one hero could take us,” Geten said with a slightly more sinister tone. Hawks had to remember most these people were villains and weren’t on the hero’s side. Still, it surprised him coming from some one as small and sweet looking as Geten. He definitely had the same charm as Rei and them when he looked peaceful.

Dabi nodded, too happy to give a shit that Geten also wanted to kill his dad. Honestly it made his life easier if someone else wanted to do it, so that was fine. “Yeah, I think it’d be great! We’re just excited to have a place for our pup where he can fly without fear of his quirk being punished,” he said happily. His mood was high.

Geten hummed slightly hearing Dabi seem more eager about his kid then killing his father. It seemed his stay with the family killed his blood lust, hopefully they could get it back. “Yes, we all want that, for the whole world. But the government dogs won’t let that happen. They know that without their hold on quirks the strong should lead. Not alphas or the rich. Just the strong,” he said. He liked that idea. He was strong. His quirk was powerful but in this world currently he was seen as something to be sold off to increase his family’s wealth.

Dabi nodded, not really disagreeing with Geten. “Your quirk is incredible. I hope you get to meet Natsuo someday, he’s the one studying to be a doctor, and Fuyumi too. They’ve never really gotten to use their quirks but they’ve both got a pretty innate sense of them,” he praised his siblings, giving Hawks’ hand another squeeze. “Whatever it takes to make the world good for our family, that’s what we wanna do,” he reaffirmed.

Hawks watched Geten as he seemed to get more into talking about the cult. Didn’t he understand a world where only the strong survive isn’t safe? It wouldnt be fair either…that really the main thing he disagreed with in the place. He would probably be fine in a world like that but he wanted to help people who couldn’t help themselves. The blonde looked at Dabi feeling him squeeze his hand, bringing him out of his thoughts. He smiled at his mate slightly. It looked like the hospital was a head so shouldn’t be much longer. “I could definitely teach them. Do you think they have interest in joining the MLA? We would need to screen them first,” Geten reasoned as he seemed to consider the idea. He mostly seemed to like the idea of teaching people.

Dabi shrugged, honestly unsure. “I dunno. Maybe Natsuo? He wanted to come with us originally but he’s pretty anti-violence or whatever. She’s not gonna be good for fighting stuff but I think at some point I’d really like my mom here. She’d probably recover better in a place where she can see other omegas just existing as people,” he thought out loud.

Hawks frowned slightly at the thought of the other joining them here. He wasn’t sure he wanted that anytime soon. Things could get dangerous and he didn’t want them mixed up in them. “I’ll look into it then,” Geten said with a slight nod as they reached the hospital. It looked like a nice place, it wasn’t the largest hospital his seen but looked reasonable. “You have a appointment so we can just go through,” Geten told them as he walked in before nodding to the people at the front desk and heading through the lobby to the elevators

Dabi gave Hawks a big smile, looking stupidly happy. “I finally get to meet our little guy,” he cooed, patting Hawks’ stomach once the elevator doors were closed. “You excited to meet dad, birdie junior?” he cooed, not even caring that he looked like an idiot. “Did you know you can hear their pulse?” he asked Geten excitedly. “I get to hear his heart!”

Hawks stepped in with Dabi as he watched the arson warmly when his stomach was patted. He felt the pup give a few kicks at the patting. “Feels like it,” he cooed softly to the alpha. He was glad Dabi seemed so excited about their baby. “Yeah I know that,” Geten replied unimpressed as the doors opened for them. Hawks stepped out with Dabi as Geten went to the desk to talk to a lady about their appointment. He was being a big help at least.

Dabi pouted when even Geten knew that you got to hear the pulse at the ultrasound appointment. Sue him for being excited, but this was his son. His parents had fucked up, a lot, but he was going to be better. He already loved his little bird so much. “He loves kicking for me,” he said proudly to Hawks. “I bet he’s learned my voice since he’s able to hear stuff outside of the womb by now. You know they can hear low sounds first? My shitty voice is good for something,” he said happily.

Hawks watched Dabi lovingly as he talked about the pup. He was so cute with how much he loved the baby and his belly. “He really does. I’m sure that’s a good sign,” he cooed warmly. “Hey I like your voice too. It’s sexy~” he cooed as he pet his head gently. “This way,” Geten called to them as he stepped over to a smaller room that looked like a normal exam room,” the blonde nodded before taking Dabis hand and leading his over to the room.

Dabi followed eagerly. His pup being able to hear and maybe love his voice was so cool. Hawks had to say that, they were engaged and shit, but Hiroto was just a baby. If he didn’t hate the monster Dabi knew he’d become after his accident then maybe he wasn’t so bad after all. He sat eagerly in the chair nearest the table for Hawks, not sure what the protocol was for these appointments.

Hawks stepped into the room before carefully sitting down on the bed to wait. “I’ll be outside,” Geten told the two before closing the door behind the nurse as she came in. “Hello. I’m just going to get some information and check you out before the doctor gets in,” she assured the two before getting to work on checking the basics.

Dabi watched excitedly as the nurse did Hawks’ vitals. He hadn’t been to a doctor’s appointment since he was a kid but he remembered all this shit. It was extra important though since Hawks was carrying their baby. “Hawks has had some high blood pressure when he’s stressed,” he helpfully told the nurse as she took his mate’s BP. “But he’s doing awesome now.”

Hawks let the girl check over him as he calmly went over everything and let her do what she needed. The hero looked at Dabi hearing him as she took his blood pressure. “Okay I will write that down. It is a big high. But not bad.” She assured the too as she finished and went back to her computer.

Dabi nodded, listening eagerly to the nurse. He hoped this was a good hospital. Hiroto and Hawks deserved the best. “Is there anything more I can do to help with his BP? I just wanna make sure they both have as easy a delivery and shit as possible,” he asked the nurse, hands tight on his knees.

Hawks watched the woman type on her computer as he listened to the woman. “Pretty basic things. Eat right, staying happy and stress free and walking all help. Swimming is even good,” she explained as the blonde rubbed his stomach. He didn’t know walking helped. It was good they could go out more. Hawks looked at the door as an older man came in. “Hello. I’m Doctor Aoki. Looks like this is your first pregnancy? And you just need a check up and ultrasound?” He said as he slowly came over to the omega. “Yes, that should be all,” the hero agreed. “Alright let me take a look while our nurse gets the machine ready,” the doctor said as he came over and started to feel his stomach gently.

Dabi watched the doctor carefully, not wanting anything to happen to his mate or his pup, but it seemed like the doctor was alright. “We’re really excited to bring Hiroto home. I know we’re still a few months out, but when should we start planning for his birth and stuff. I’m getting a bag ready just in case anything happens early, but is there stuff to look out for or that I can do to make this last bit of the pregnancy easy for them?” he asked, clearly psyched to be there.

Hawks shifted slightly, not extremely wanting to be touched but he wasn’t to uncomfortable. “You’re about to the third trimester from the look of things. Things will start moving quickly from here. Staying a bit active is good, but plenty of rest and healthy food. His sure to be sore and may start getting some morning sickness again,” he warned the two before humming. “It’s good to be prepared but keep in mind that Braxton Hicks contractions are common, but it doesn’t mean you’re in labor, you don’t need to hurry in for them unless they linger. They are just preparing your body,” the doctor assured them. Hawks didn’t realize he could have contractions before hand. “Let’s get this little one pulled up then,” the doctor said as he set down and started to press the jell onto the omega stomach.

Dabi scooted his chair closer to Hawks, grabbing his mate’s hand and squeezing it excitedly. “Has this hospital delivered any winged pups before? We’re not in contact with Hawks’ mom so we’re not totally sure what the timeline on his wings’ development is gonna be.”

Hawks shivered feeling the gel before looking at Dabi as his hand was gripped. He gripped Dabis hand back gently as he relaxed back. “Hmm…I think maybe I delivered one pup with wings a few years ago. I don’t remember seeing them much after that though. Can’t tell you how they developed. You may talk to a quirk specialist. Not sure if we have one in the city though,” the doctor offered as he pressed the wand against Hawks stomach and moved it around. “There we are. You know the gender correct?” He asked curiously as Hawks started at the screen. His pup was getting so big and really looked like a baby now.

Dabi watched, jaw open, as the doctor’s motions revealed Hiroto. He was still so small, but he was starting to look like a real baby and not a blob monster. “Yeah, a little boy,” he said eagerly, staring at the ultrasound. “He’s a whole little person!!!!” Dabi cheered. “Is there a quirk specialist anyone here has worked with before that we could try to get in contact with?” he asked happily. “We just want to give him the best start possible.”

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi when he got excited seeing the picture on the screen. The pup seemed to be moving around slightly and curling up. He looked so peaceful. “Dr. Kyudai Garak is the best quirk specialist in Japan. There is a chance we can get a meeting with him but your quite high profile. I’m not sure it’s safe,” the doctor explained, obviously recognizing them. “I don’t think you have anything to worry about though. I see a perfectly healthy baby here. And you wanted to hear the heartbeat?” He asked as he put the heart beat on the speaker for them to hear.

Dabi’s heart melted at the sound of Hiroto’s tiny heart beating. He could feel himself tearing up again and quickly wiped his bloody eyes with his free hand, sniffling loudly. “Oh shit, that’s our baby,” he cooed, smiling at Hawks and the screen. “He’s gonna be so beautiful, Hawks. Am I crazy, or does his little nose look more like mine than yours?” he asked eagerly, leaning in close.

Hawks smiled hearing the heart beat, closing his eyes and listening to its strongest beat. He knew his pup was healthy and strong hearing it. “He is…” Hawks cooed warmly as he gripped Dabis hand gently. The hero laughed softly as he looked at the screen again. “Yeah gonna have to believe you on that. I can’t tell,” he teased softly. “Oh dear your bleeding,” the doctor said concerned seeing the arsons face as the nurse quickly grabbed some paper towel to clean his face

Dabi laughed at the doctor’s concern, shrugging it off. “Oh, that’s just how I cry. I burned my tear ducts shut like a decade ago and now I cry blood, I guess,” he said, unconcerned. His focus was entirely on Hiroto and Hawks.

Hawks looked at the doctors concerned look hearing the arson. “That’s not…well maybe we should make you an appointment of your own,” he told the arson as he got a few pictures of the omegas ultra sound before turning the machine off and cleaning the gel from the blonde stomach carefully. “Everything here looks good though,” he assured the two.

Dabi shrugged again. “Yeah, probably. I haven’t seen a doctor since I was thirteen,” he said mildly, obviously pouting when the machine was turned off. “When do we get to come see him again?” he asked.

Hawks sat up slight and fixed his shirt when they finished up. “Why don’t set get you in as soon as er can. I have a spot available in the afternoon in two days. We can check on the little one again in two weeks,” he told the two as the doctor stood up. “The nurse will put it in and give you appointment cards to remind. Very good to meet you two,” the doctor told the couple as he gave a slight bow and headed out of the room.

Dabi grinned. He was finally gonna get to see a doctor and make sure he could be here for his pup and mate. “Thanks, doc,” he said, giving the man a short wave. Things were gonna be okay now. He’d finally met his son and the pup was as adorable and strong as he’d thought. “That went really well,” he said happily to Hawks. “He’s so cute, birdie. How’d he get so precious?”

Hawks pressed against Dabis side and took his hand as they left the room behind the nurse. They stepped over to the check out desk as the blonde smiled. “He is. I can’t wait to see his little face for real.” The hero said in a longing tone before taking the reminder card with the date of his next appointment and the new baby pictures. “The doctor seemed nice too,” he added as Geten got up from his seat seeing the two finish up.

Dabi nodded, taking the appointment card for his checkup and shoving it in his pocket. “Wanna see him?” he asked Geten eagerly. “I know it’s lame or whatever but I’m really excited to be a dad,” he told his cousin, worrying the other villain was gonna think his excitement to have a family was dorky.

Geten walked the two to the elevator before looking at the picture Dabi was holding. His never seen one before. His cousin seemed eager to show him. His honesty never met an alpha so involved in his kids life and they weren’t even born yet. “I’m not sure what I see…I can kind of see a shape..” he said unsure

Dabi hummed and leaned in closer. “Here, it’s easier when you can see the little swoop of his wings,” he pointed out the baby’s wings to Geten, smiling softly. “I know it’s lame or whatever, but before Hawks and Hiroto all I had to live for was my hate. Not even my hope of a better world or revenge on my dad made living make sense. What place did I have once he was dead, y’know? I wasn’t good for anything or anyone. But now I get to be his dad, and I know that my dad not being there for me is at least half of what fucked me up so bad, so I gotta do right by him. It helps that Hawks is hot as fuck and makes me laugh and is all around the best though,” he said with a snort. “God, I sound dumb. Anyway, I just want him to grow up knowing that he’s beautiful and strong and loved.”

Geten watched Dabi curiously as he leaned in to show him the picture better. He could make out wings and what was attached to it. He could see how that was a pup, it was just a little hard. He looked at the arson as he started to talk about his convictions. He wished they had found Dabi sooner. He would have had a lot more to live for with the MLA then he would have with the league. “I see. Well don’t worry. He has a place here and so do you. I everyone does. And we will bring about a better world,” he assured his cousin with a nod.

Dabi gave Geten a pat on the shoulder, nodding seriously. “Yeah. You’re alright, cuz,” he said fondly, admiring the ultrasound himself again. He’d have to send pics to his family soon. “We need to get Hawks a phone and get bus passes or whatever, any idea where we should start?” he asked the ice quirk user.

Geten hummed at the touch and slang before nodding slightly. “The best way to do a bus pass is to get a rechargeable card. We can get you one at the bus station. Then we have a phone store. We use Feel Good Inc for service and WiFi. It’s the safest way to communicate without interference since one of our board members has a good hand in the business,” Geten explained as he walked the two out of the hospital.

Dabi whistled lowly, grabbing Hawks’ hand. This cult was pretty serious with all the corporate weirdoes in deep. “Smart,” he said to his cousin, mostly just weirded out. He was on their side and everything but what the fuck were the heroes getting paid for if they weren’t even aware of this shit. “Thanks for the help. I’m sure you’ve got better places to be and people to hang with.”

Geten smiled slightly when he seemed impressed, he should be. They had worked hard to get where they are and all the connections they have. “Yeah. Well if you don’t need my help around I do have some other things to attend. Did you need me to take you to your visit to the hospital?” He asked curiously. He didn’t know how extensive the visit will be or if he will be put on medication.

Dabi shrugged. Who knew how long he’d take or what they’d do or anything. He didn’t exactly want to go alone but making his pregnant mate sit and wait sounded shitty too. “If you’re not busy, yeah, I mean it’d be nice, but don’t sweat it if you are,” he said casually.

Geten shrugged slightly. “It’s part of my job right now. I’ll see you then,” he assured the arson before heading off. He didn’t have anything too serious right now but there was always something to do around here.

“That’s nice of him,” Hawks told his mate as he watched Geten head off. “You sure you don’t need me to go?” He asked concerned as the couple headed towards the bus station.

Dabi kissed Hawks on the cheek. “I mean I’d love it, yeah, but it seems like just sitting waiting in a hospital wouldn’t be very comfortable for you two,” he pointed out. “Plus, you’re running out of days to sleep in. We’re gonna have to get him to school in a few years. If you really wanna come, I always love your company, but I want you to be able to relax while you can. It sounds like the last three months are gonna blow,” he said, a little concerned. It felt like Hawks had just stopped puking and now he was gonna start again.

Hawks hummed happily as he was kissed. “Nah it’s alright. I’ll survive a little while alone. Plus it will be good for you two to talk alone a bit I think. If anything maybe he will talk more about what’s going on without a hero around.” The blonde suggested as he squeezed Dabis hand gently. He just felt suspicious and wanted to make sure thing really were safe here.

Dabi nodded, giving Hawks a little squeeze back. “Yeah, I dunno. In theory it’s great, right? But what about my mom, who doesn’t want to use her quirk, or what if one of Hiroto’s siblings is quirkless… I think the League’s better about that kind of stuff, if only because Tomura just agrees with whatever the group wants, and we were all pretty nice people, murder aside,” he explained as they headed towards the bus stop.

Hawks nodded slightly. “Yeah exactly…the strong are supposed to protect the weak. I hate this, ‘survival of the fittest’ shit,” the hero admitted. It felt like everyone started out weak…just didn’t seem fair. “Shigaraki just wanted to break stuff. Who knows what life would have looked like after,” the blonde complained. He knew the guy wanted to rebuild the world but he seemed to see it more as a game than anything…

Dabi sighed, running a hand through his hair. “He probably would have just retired to play video games and get in fights on the internet after about thirty seconds of winning,” he admitted. “I wish there was an option that was good all around, but this really is the best one for now. I mean, I got to see Hiroto on the ultrasound, and now I get to see a real doctor. We weren’t gonna get that otherwise. I hope we can see that quirk specialist, you know? I just worry a lot that the kids are gonna end up with something like my quirk,” he admitted.

Hawks chuckled softly hearing Dabi, that almost sounded…funny. In a way he kind of wanted to know what would happen if the world was destroyed only for the mastermind behind it to give up and play games if the internet even still worked. “Yeah so far so good…for us anyway. I haven’t seen any plans that look like they will be killing any innocent people so I can go along with it,” he agreed slightly relieved. “Well..even if they do we will find a solution. We won’t force them to use their quirk and figure something out,” he assured his mate as he pressed against his side to comfort him

Dabi nuzzled into Hawks, humming happily. “He’s like the size of an eggplant right now, right? God, he’s so cute. I can’t believe how big he’s gonna get before you have to deliver him though. Pregnancy’s so fucking weird. I’m glad it’s been mostly okay for you, and that you’re handling it well,” he praised the blond.

Hawks nuzzled back against Dabi gently as they walked before smiling. “Something like that,” he cooed before whining. “Don’t remind me,” he said playfully. It has been a long few months..maybe not so bad if they lived normal lives. The blonde looked around we they got to what looked like the bus station. “I think that’s it..” Hawks told his mate seeing the machine.

Dabi nodded excitedly, practically running over to the machine and pulling up two bus passes. “Your turn, moneybags,” he teased gently. “This is so cool, just getting to live like regular fucking people.”

Hawks gasped softly as he was pulled over to the machine before watching Dabi select what the needed. “Good thing it takes cash.” He said as the hero pulled out the money they needed and put it into the machine. He smiled when it spit out to bus cards for them. He grabbed the two before handing one to Dabi and putting the other in his wallet.

Dabi shoved the card in his pocket. He would really need to get a wallet at some point, now that he was a regular adult. “Now we gotta get you a phone, and then it’s back to the shopping list,” he said, happy to be back on track with making a painting for Hiroto and getting their plant. “We have to send everyone ultrasound pics when we get home too,” he said, mostly so he didn’t forget himself.

Hawks watched Dabi as he listened out the rest of the day. They did have a few things needing to get done. He couldn’t spend too much money on a phone so this was going to suck but he would see what he could get. “Your turn to keep a list.” He teased softly as he took Dabis hand so they could hit the phone store next.

Dabi smiled gently. “Painting supplies, doll supplies, a plant,” he listed proudly, excited to be back on track. “You’re a spoiled little man, Hiroto Todoroki, custom art and plushies?” he teased his mate’s belly.

Hawks watched Dabi amused when he gave him the list out loud. “He sure is,” he cooed in agreement as he rubbed his swollen stomach.  “But first. Let’s get that phone. I have been bored. Sucks I can’t post baby pictures or anything…” he complained slightly as he walked to the pretty big looking phone store

Dabi nodded, following after Hawks in the direction of the store. “Yeah, I bet you’d be the cutest mommy blogger,” he said, remembering Hawks’ travel blog fondly. “You get so excited talking about him. We should see if they have stickers or anything you want to add to his baby book while we’re at the craft store if it’s not too expensive,” he suggested. “We need that thing to embarrass him when he brings dates home someday.”

Hawks smiled warmly. “Yeah it would have been great, but I guess it is for the best…I don’t want him plastered all over the internet for strangers to see. It would be dangerous anyways,” the blonde told Dabi with a slight shrug. He would be a great blogger though. “Stickers and stuff would be great. Bet there is a lot of cute stuff we can look at,” the hero agreed, pretty excited to head to the craft store after this. “Ugh. I don’t want to even think about him dating yet,” Hawks complained as he entered the phone store.

Dabi nodded, glad that a bunch of weirdoes and creeps wouldn’t have access to Hiroto’s whole little life, even if he knew Hawks would make the cutest posts about the two of them. “Yeah, people love pups, so there’s gotta be. I mean look at us. We didn’t even want kids until he happened, and now he’s everything,” he said happily, looking around the phone store a little daunted. “God damn, there’s a lot of options. Do you know what kind you used to have? It’s probably easier to get something you’re already used to,” he reasoned.

Hawks nodded slightly. “Yeah I can’t wait to look at all the stuff,” he agreed happily as they walked around the store. The blonde laughed slightly hearing Dabi. “Yeah I’m not sure we should waste our money on what I had before. It was top of the line,” he explained. He wished he could have kept Endeavors but it’s way too easy for him to track them. He should probably get something cheaper…He would like his old phone back but it was a waste of what little they had right now.

Dabi snorted, shaking his head. “Poor little moneybags. Well, we want something at least as good as my shitty smartphone,” he said, staring at all the models, feeling a little lost. “Do we just ask someone?” he said helplessly.

Hawks rolled his eyes playfully hearing his mate as he started to look around the shop. “Um…maybe. I don’t even know where to start or ask for. Should I just get something like yours?” He asked unsure.

Dabi nodded, pulling his phone out. “Yeah, I mean, mine works fine. It’s weird the League never took me off the phone plan, isn’t it? You’d think with the money they’re out they’d be a little smarter with it. I dunno, I think they run it through Giran, so maybe he kept me on?” he puzzled.

Hawks looked over Dabis phone when he pulled it out. It was a little tore up but didn’t look bad. “Yeah something like that will work just fine,” the blonde agreed. “Maybe they are tracking you?” He suggested as the hero walked toward the help desk to see if they would get him the same phone.

Dabi scoffed, giving a little shrug. “Like I said, it’s Giran and Kurogiri who are in charge of that shit, and Giran respects his clients’ privacy too much, and honestly old smokey’s probably just psyched me and Tomura aren’t together. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, they didn’t know I was at my dad’s until I told Tomura,” he pointed out.

Hawks hummed slightly. “I guess that’s true…just best to be cautious,” he explained before smiling when he was greeted by a worker. “Hi. We were wanting to get a phone like this,” the blonde told the employee as he gestured to Dabi’s phone, hoping they had the phone in stock. The employee looked at Dabi before looking over his phone unsure. “Looks like an older model. Let me see what we have,” he told the couple before heading to the back.

Dabi sulked again. His phone wasn’t that old and it worked perfectly fine. They just needed something simple but functional for Hawks so that they could be in contact. “I’ll have to ask Geten about a job when he takes me to the doctor, everything costs so much money when you don’t steal it,” he pouted.

Hawks listened to Dabi before laughing softly. “I know. But i definitely don’t want to risk that around here. Especially if they have eyes on us,” The hero explained as he rubbed Dabis back gently. “Okay. We don’t have that specific phone but we have a newer model. 54,463.68 yen,” he explained to the two. “That’s not too bad…how much is it to activate?” The omega asked unsure. The employee pulled out a little brochure with a few plans on it before passing it to Hawks as he looked over it. “They have one for 4669 yen a month…” he said unsure. He really didn’t want to do a payment like that so early. Would they even do it if he didn’t have a card?

Dabi whined a little at the cost, nervous to put that much money out without even knowing how much he’d be making. “Should I call Geten?” he asked his mate, clearly worried. “I don’t want to owe everyone more than we already do, but you kinda need a phone,” he pointed out.

Hawks looked at Dabi hearing him before sighing softly. “I don’t know. The phone price isn’t horrible but the monthly will be an issue at some point if we don’t have money coming in,” the hero said worried. “I mean it can work off of internet if anything?” He offered. “At least until we get a job…and we might need a card or bank account to put down to make payments,” the hero added worried.

Dabi frowned, looking down at his boots. “I’m not even legally alive,” he pointed out. “If they need shit like that then how am I supposed to get a job? I think Giran does fake ids but that’s a lot of time and money we don’t have,” he said nervously. “We could ask my mom? Maybe she’d pay for it? She’s on one of Fuyumi’s credit cards.”

Hawks shook his head quickly. “No no that’s way too risky if Endeavor and the commission are looking for us. Trust me, they will check,” the omega explained, not wanting to get them into trouble. “Maybe let’s just get the phone then we can talk to Geten about the possibility of us getting an account or something. I mean, they are a huge villain organization. They have to have something,” he insisted. Hopefully they could set them up with something. He hated leaning on them so much but they were pretty out of luck. He didn’t even have a birth certificate…never really needed one.

Dabi sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “If you think so? I just don’t want you and baby birdie to starve because my stupid asshole dad didn’t bother looking for me and just decided I was dead,” he grumbled, angry at how helpless they were.

Hawks rubbed Dabis are gently. “Relax. We’re gonna figure it out. We got lots of time,” he assured the villain before kissing his head softly. “We will take the phone,” he told the employee before walking over to the cash register and pulling out the money for it. Until they didn’t they had internet he could use just fine.

Dabi smiled, reassured by Hawks’ sweetness. If these stupid cultists wanted their help then they’d have to pony up, it was simple. It wasn’t his fault he was legally dead nor Hawks’ fault he’d been a child slave. Right now they just needed to relax and have fun getting ready for their little boy.

Hawks paid for the phone before taking the bag when he was finished. “Thank you,” he told the cashier before taking Dabis hand again. “At least I can still take pictures and use the internet,” he said in an optimistic tone as the pair left the phone store. He wanted to be a bit more positive today, it was a good day. Now they could hit the craft store and have a good day tonight or tomorrow painting.

Dabi nodded. It was definitely better than nothing. “Yeah, it’s something, and I’ll talk to Geten asap. Right now though, we need to shift into craft mode. Do we want to do something in the background or just have our heart hand?” he asked. “We gotta leave the center totally clear for Hiroto’s little handprint though. I want that thing looking crisp. He’s gonna grow so fast and we’re gonna miss when he was bitty, I just know it,” he said with a sigh.

Hawks grinned at Dabi hearing him perk up and enter ‘craft mode’ as he stated. “Well I don’t want to mess up the hand prints. So nothing too dark in the back if we do. Maybe some decorative stuff around it? Maybe just the hands would be best, then we could paint a separate one?” He offered as they walked. The air was still cool but it was a nice day out.

Dabi nodded, considering Hawks’ words. They’d probably be better off just getting a second canvas or something. “Yeah, that’s a good call. I really want this to be cute. I know it’s stupid but it feels like if we do all the lame bullshit we’re giving him a better chance at life, a normal childhood or whatever,” he explained.”

Hawks nodded slightly In agreement. “Yeah and I also kind of want to put one in our room too so we can have fun with the second one.” He assured his mate as they got to the craft store from the other day. They needed to decorate their room too. “Alright let’s try not to go too overboard.” He told Dabi as he went in.

Dabi laughed, turning and kissing Hawks on the cheek. “Yeah, yeah. Do you know yet what you want Hiroto to call you? I’m going with dad, obviously,” he said, glancing at Hawks’ stomach. “He really has little wings. They look more like yours every ultrasound. Two little birds of prey,” he cooed. “Okay, let’s get our shit,” he announced excitedly, grabbing a cart.

Hawks hummed slightly in consideration as he rubbed his stomach gently. “It doesn’t really matter to me. Oma or mom works for me. We can just see what comes to him. Probably whatever you call me most,” he teased softly. “He does. Hopefully they don’t get too big and come out right,” he said a little worried. He didn’t want them to cause complications. It would probably be okay. He didn’t suspect his mother went to a hospital to give birth to him. The blonde happily followed Dabi into the store as he looked around excitedly. He wanted so much stuff but needed to stick to the important ones.

Dabi nodded, kissing Hawks again. “I’ve been defaulting to mom, but oma’s cute too. I mostly need to know so I can figure out what balloons to buy in the hospital giftshop,” he teased. “I wonder how fast he’s gonna learn to talk, and what his first word’s gonna be,” he mused as they walked to the paint. He started looking at blues, humming softly to himself.

Hawks shrugged, “I like both too. So which ever works for me.” He cooed to his mate. He was already excited at the idea of getting balloon and praise when he had their pup. Dabi was going to be so happy and he would have his baby. “Like you said it will be faster if we Interact with him a lot and if he has siblings, they will learn off each other,” the blonde added as he join Dabi in the search for paint. He was still a little weary, but Dabi assured him the color would be fine and he needed to trust that

Dabi found a blue that was close to his eyes. He figured there was a pretty decent chance Hiroto would have blue eyes too, so he’d need to deal with that somehow. “How about this one?” he asked, holding it up to his eyes. “I hope I don’t teach him to cuss too young. Like once he starts school that’s fine, but I don’t want him cursing as a toddler,” he said thoughtfully.

Hawks looked over some deep reds before picking up two to look at. He looked at Dabi seeing the color before grinning. “Oh I love that. How about me. Which one?” He asked as he held up the two nearly identical colors. “Better not have my baby cussing that early. Keep him sweet for a while at least,” he complained

Dabi snickered, eventually picking the red that seemed just slightly closer to Hawks’ wings, though they were almost impossibly close. “He’s the kid of a villain and an assassin, birdie. Even if we straighten out, he’s never gonna be entirely sweet,” he cooed. “Anyway, he’s gonna be adorable no matter what, even if I do get him cussing. I wonder if he’s gonna sound like I used to before the accident. My voice should not be this deep,” he said thoughtfully.

Hawks grinned when Dabi picked a red before putting it in the cart with the rest. “Just need some canvases. Maybe a small pack with a lot of colors too,” he told the arson as he looked around for one. “Doesn’t mean he needs to be cussing before five,” he whined softly. “Don’t need to be cussed out by an upset toddler or something,” he added as he selected to square canvas and placed it in the cart as well.

Dabi laughed loudly, grabbing a set of canvases. They were gonna make the cutest art for their pup. “Aww, c’mon, it’d be cute. His little baby voice saying bastard or something? It’d be adorable. Besides, you’ve got a worse attitude than me sometimes. Even if we were regular fucking people we’d still raise a kid with a ‘tude.”

Hawks winkled his nose slightly at the thought of his baby cussing. “It’s funny till it’s aimed at us,” he whined. “I don’t want my baby calling me a bastard,” he grumbled with a slight pout. The blonde touched his chest to fain insult. “I do not. You’re the one with attitude,” he teased in a playful tone.

Dabi rolled his eyes and elbowed Hawks gently, a warm smile on his face. “I’ve seen your press interviews, birdie. Half of your appeal was that you were sort of a bitch,” he praised. “It’s hot as fuck.”

Hawks snorted softly hearing Dabi before smirking. “Fine fine I guess you have me all figured out,” he said amused as the hero picked out some paint brushes for them. Was that all they needed? He needed to get the plushie stuff, and see if they have stickers and maybe stuff for plants.

Dabi laughed, rolling his eyes and leaning onto the cart. “I sure hope so, otherwise this is gonna be a reaaaaally awkward marriage. I love when you’re a fucking brat,” he said fondly. “Wanna go get the other shit?”

Hawks laughed in amusement hearing Dabi before pecking his lips softly. “Good,” he teased gently before nodding. “Yeah let’s get a move on,” The hero agreed as he headed to the sewing area to pick up everything they needed from here. They needed a sewing kit too.

Dabi watched Hawks with soft eyes, admiring the way he carried himself. It was hard to understand how his pretty mate could have such issues with his self esteem. He was still just as beautiful as ever, and the fact he was carrying Dabi’s pup and already such an excellent parent to their little pup made him all the more perfect. He hoped he loved Hawks like this forever. As long as they had this, everything else was worth it. “Maybe once I get a job and we have a card, we could look online for more maternity clothes,” he suggested. “There’s got to be cooler options. I know you miss dressing up, and we have to be able to find something.”

Hawks looked at Dabi slightly seeing his stare before blushing lightly seeing his look. He smiled gently at the villain as he tucked his hair back slightly. “Yeah? Won’t need them much longer. We will see if I need to order online. If anything we will know for next time.” He teased softly before starting to look though the sewing kits. He needed a pretty good one in case he needed to work on the pups’ future clothes. And if their other pups had wings they should probably save whatever they could from this baby for the next. He really wished he had access to his money. “Hopefully Geten helps us with the job situation. Make sure you ask him about birth certificates when you see him,” he reminded the arson as he selected a good kit for them.

Dabi hummed and rocked on his feet. “No, but you’ll need those fancy nursing shirts and shit,” he reminded his mate. Hawks’ chest looked so cute right now. “I’ll bring it up first thing, lovebird. Don’t worry. I’m gonna provide for us,” he promised, feeling sappy. Hiroto had really moved and he’d really heard his pulse on the ultrasound. His family was awesome. “Stuffing and baby book junk and then it’s plant time,” he announced as Hawks picked a kit.

Hawks looked at his chest slightly as he hummed. He kept forgetting about it but his chest was swallowed and pretty sensitive. It was a little embarrassing but he was eager to breast feed his pup so it was worth it. The hero gave Dabi a sweet smile hearing his assurance. “I know you will…your wonderful,” he cooed, pressing against his mate to briefly scent him as he passed by toward the plushie area. “What animal should I make?” He asked curiously, looking over the items.

Dabi beamed as he was scented, glad his mate could be affectionate in public. Even if he hadn’t quite shown Hawks he was good enough to claim him, the blond did love him and the public affection helped. He was Hawks’ alpha, and if he kept doing right by his mate and his pup someday everyone would get to see that. “Hmmm… he already has a bear, and birds seem hard,” Dabi reasoned, mulling it over. “Maybe a kitty? To match his hat? Plus, if we do get a pet someday, we were considering a cat, right?” he suggested. They could get a cat once Hiroto was walking or something and he could grow up with it.

Hawks watches Dabi beam at him, he seemed to be pretty happy about the attention. He was glad he was able to make him smile like that. “A little kitty cat? That would be cute,” he cooed. “We need any fabric? Or we just want it made from old clothes and stuff?” He asked his mate as he collected a bag of stuffing. “Mm I might sew the eyes so he doesn’t swallow a button,” the blonde said unsure as he looked over the eye beads and buttons.

Dabi considered this. “Maybe get some extra fabric just in case, but we shouldn’t need a bunch,” he said thoughtfully. “And yeah, no choking hazards for our little bird. I used to put stuff in my mouth constantly, drove my mom crazy. We don’t need him getting hurt by his doll,” he decided. “Just get extra thread.”

Hawks laughed softly. “Agreed. I’ll get some brown. A nice neutral color,” the blonde let Dabi know as he go some faux fur type fabric and extra black thread. “Definitely don’t want him choking. I won’t handle that well,” the hero explained as he added stuff to the cart before cooing seeing the outfits. “Should we get the cat an outfit?” He asked excitedly.

Dabi nodded, examining the little plushie outfits excitedly. “Yeah, see if there’s something with a bird. Then he can have a cat hat and his cat can have a bird shirt and then we can take the world’s cutest photos of him,” he cooed. Had he always been this lame? It was true that most of his coolness came from being an asshole and from the villain shit and how he dressed, so maybe…

Hawks snickered softly at the suggestion as he looked though the clothes. “Ooo I like that idea,” he cooed in delight. “Hope we can find one,” he said warmly. Dabi seemed so happy today and it made his chest warm. He really needed to see their baby and his mate finally was able to. He realized how hurt Dabi would have been if he was never able to see the ultra sound in person with him. The omega was just happy they shared this together. “This could work,” he told Dabi as he picked up a little white shirt with a cute picture of a bird house and some birds around it.

Dabi nodded, glad Hawks had found something so perfect. He wanted Hiroto to have an awesome childhood, and they were giving him a good start on that. “That’s great, let’s get that. He looked so cute today, you know? And his pulse is so strong! He’s gonna be such a little badass, I can tell already. His cute lil wings,” he gushed, still riding the high of the ultrasound. It made Tenko’s absence in his life feel a little worse honestly but at least he knew Hiroto was okay and adorable.

Hawks grinned when he agreed. “I wanna get these little shorts too, they are like overalls,” he cooed as he grabbed them and added them to the cart. He couldn’t wait to make the toy. He could start when Dabi was at the doctor. “Yeah he was. His getting so big and changing so much. The first time I could barely make out a baby,” the hero said amused, making sure he had everything they would need before heading towards the scrap book area to look for stuff to add to the baby book. “I can’t wait to see his wings! I wonder what color and everything. How big they will be,” he cooed happily as he bounced slightly on his toes.

Dabi nodded, hoping they could get Hiroto his own cute ass overalls once he was a toddler. “Yeah, he looks like a little person now. I hope we can save a bunch of his baby feathers. I could get earrings made with them for you or something, that’d be really romantic, right?” he asked eagerly.

Hawks walked through the store, keeping his wings tight against his back so he didn’t knock anything over. The store had a ton of sticker packets to choose from, he was going to have to look at them all. The blonde almost squealed hearing Dabi. “That’s a great idea! Oh my gosh that would be so cute!” He told the villain as he gripped his arm and shook the arson. “We could have matching ones how cute!” He said delighted.

Dabi nodded, laughing loudly as Hawks excitedly shook him. He loved when he got his mate excited. “Yeah, I mean, it’d be pretty adorable, right? I hope he has little white angel wings, but honestly he’s gonna be cute no matter what. I’d also really like red wings to match his oma. Or maybe they’ll be a couple different colors, I dunno. I’m still just excited to hear you guys do your little birdie sounds to each other, it was so cute when you did it,” he praised, starting to look through the stickers and picking a pack of tiny flames. “For pictures of me and him,” he explained. “I want to normalize my quirk for him, you know? It’s gonna be scary and hard to understand,” he said thoughtfully.

Hawks giggled softly as he thought about what it would look like. “I would be fine with any but there is so many cute nicknames for white wings.” He cooed as he started to look over the stickers happily. He would definitely be making jewelry out of his babies little feathers. He would look into how to do that for sure. The hero looked over at the flame sticker before laughing softly. “Cute. Yes definitely those. They are perfect. They literally just have a pack of me. Feels like that takes the fun out of it,” he told Dabi, not sure he wanted ones with him on it straight up

Dabi grabbed the Hawks stickers and tossed them in. “Aw, c’mon. I know it’s… weird and that the commission blows, but you were like a fucking rockstar, better than anyone ever before, and your little flight suit is hot as shit. We met because you were a hero, birdie, and I fucking hate that but there’s good shit too,” he reasoned, surprised by his own acceptance of it.

Hawks watched Dabi as he added the stickers to the cart. He blushed deeply hearing his mate before smiling sheepishly. “I’m mean…yeah I guess when you put it that way it sounds pretty good,” he cooed as the hero wrapped his arms around the villain’s neck. “I love you,” he told the arson as he gave him an adoring look.

Dabi wrapped his arms around Hawks, leaning down to scent the blond. He loved his snarky little birdie and even though it had been hard they were going to make this work, and considering they’d been poised to kill each other at one point they were doing awesome. “I love you too, Hawks,” he said happily, kissing the omega on the cheek. “I’m still so fucking happy I got to see him. He’s real, you know? Our little boy. I can’t wait. I want to be the one to hand him to you and hear his stupid little screams in the hospital, and now I can,” he gushed.

Hawks nuzzled back to Dabi as he was held close and scented. He nuzzled into the crook of the arsons neck as he was held against his body. “Me too. I wanted you to see him so bad,” the hero cooed happily as he held him tightly, letting out a soft trill of delight. It felt so much easier to relax and let out those noises when he was comfortable and safe.

Dabi’s heart melted at Hawks’ cute little birdie sound. It was crazy to think that his adorable little lovebird was also a crazy government assassin and shit but that only made him cooler. “I love your little sounds. You’re so stupid cute, Keigo. I love you both so fucking much. My pretty bird~” he cooed, not caring how gross pda in public was. Everyone could fuck off, he loved his mate. “He’s the best accident anyone’s ever had,” he said with a laugh.

Hawks grinned up at Dabi hearing him as he nuzzled his cheek against the arsons chest. “I love you so much too,” he cooed lovingly as he rubbed the villains arm gently. “That night was the best of my life…I’ll never forget it,” he cooed softly before pressing his lips to his mates gently. His life was crazy now, but his never been so happy.

Dabi’s eyes went soft at Hawks’ words, and his whole chest felt warm and fuzzy. “Shit, really?” he asked, voice breaking with emotion. “It was pretty awesome. I was so sure you were gonna realize who I was the whole time, being that close to my eyes, and then when you found out I dyed my hair,” he laughed. “And I still wanted to stay. All I wanted in the whole wide world was to keep you with me,” he said softly, stroking the blonde’s hair.

Hawks nodded slightly to confirm as his hair was stroked back gently. “Yeah. I know I should have put the clues together faster but I just didn’t want to believed it…now that I see everything it makes more sense,” the hero explained softly before sighing. “I wish I stayed that day…we could have talked…I wouldn’t have nearly died,” he added in a more playful tone.

Dabi nodded, still petting Hawks’ hair. It felt so nice these days. Pregnancy and the prenatal vitamins seemed to really be making it silky. “I was so scared, watching you in that fight on tv… and now that I know Hiroto was there too. We’re lucky you didn’t lose him before we even knew he existed. I know you’re a badass. I mean, shit, you’re probably better in a fight than I am, but the idea of the two of you being in that kind of danger… I just don’t want you fighting if we can help it until he’s born and you’re recovered from the birth,” he said, feeling protective. “I need to keep my birdies safe. We should have just talked. We wouldn’t have had to fight, you wouldn’t have had to date my sister,” he teased, sticking out his tongue.

Hawks nuzzled I to Dabis hand as he was pet gently. It felt nice to be stroked. “I know…I hate to think about it. I was worried they would say something was wrong with him the first visit I went to but he seems perfect…I’m so glad he made it.” The hero said relieved. “I promise I’ll try and stir clear, especially right now. I don’t even think I could fly as well with this added weight…I would need to adjust to it,” the blonde explained as he touched his stomach. It through his off in the fight with the nomu and he wasn’t even this big yet. “That’s all said and down now. I had matters is we found each other and we’re here. All of us.” He cooed as he patted his stomach gently.

Dabi nodded. Every appointment seemed to further indicate that their pup was healthy. Hawks and Hiroto were both so strong for enduring all this bullshit. “Me too. I can’t imagine life without him and he’s not even here yet. I don’t know how my dad ignored us all. Being with you and Hiroto is the best part of my day,” he admitted with a chuckle. “I can’t wait to watch him become his own little person. Now let’s get some more stickers, huh? We still have to figure out buying a plant.”

Hawks nodded slightly. “Me either. Honestly it’s gonna weird not having him all to myself,” he admitted. They were so close right now, it was so much stronger than any bond he felt like he could have. “I could never ignore my kid like him…his so important to me. I just love him so much,” he whined softly. He needed to do everything he could to take care of his pup and didn’t know how long he could be separated from the little guy. “Yeah we should get a move on. Got a few more things to do,” he agreed happily as he took Dabis hand so they could look at more stickers together for their book. He was very excited to put the book together, maybe they could do some of it tonight.

Dabi pouted, giving Hawks big puppy dog eyes. “Aww, c’mon. You gotta share him once he’s here, okay? I’m gonna be the most careful dad ever,” he promised as they examined the stickers. He picked out some storks, figuring the bird theme and the baby theme made them perfect, and some hearts in various colors. “We should get some washi tape or something too so we can get his ultrasound print outs in there. I wanna line them all up and see him grow,” he said fondly.

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi as they looked around at more stickers. He found some with some wording on it that he could use and some general baby stuff like bottles, diapers and bids. They were ending up with a lot though and they weren’t supposed to go crazy. “Fine I’ll share but I won’t like it,” he teased with a smirk as he added his stickers to the cart. “That should be good. We can get more if we need it. Washi tape sounds good though. Let’s get that and head out.” Hawks agreed as he stretched slightly. He was starting to get a little stiff from walking around so much.

Dabi pouted, grabbing an assortment of pastel washi tape as they headed to the checkout. “You’ll like it. You’re gonna be fucking tired after labor and shit and you’re gonna be psyched that I wanna take turns with him. He’s gonna be so soft and sweet and cuddly, how are we ever gonna get shit done,” he cooed, imagining their little bird nursing in the nest. “You doing okay with all the walking?”

Hawks hummed softly. “If you say so. I just can’t imagine doing anything without him right now.” He explained as he followed Dabi to the check out so they could put there craft haul. “Yeah I’m getting a bit stiff and tired…not terrible but it’s been a busy few days,” he explained as he passed their items to the cashier to check out.

Dabi kissed Hawks on the cheek. “I know, birdie, and you’ll get lots of time with him. We’re just gonna have to share the little cutie,” he cooed. “Let’s get our plant and head home, I’ll massage your feet, how about that?” he offered.

Hawks whined softly as he leaned against Dabi. “Okay…” he pouted softly as he watched the cashier check them out. “That sounds nice. My feet are sore.” He agreed as he wiggled his toes in his shoes. He was going to need to switch to his slip on shoes with how swollen his feet keep getting. He paid for the items before grabbing the bags and Dabi’s hand so they could head out and get a little plant.

Dabi grabbed the bags from Hawks, not wanting his pregnant mate to have to deal with the bags. They needed to get home so he could rest. “Okay, plant time,” he said cheerfully. “Where the fuck do you buy a plant? We just need something cute for the kitchen. Shoto’s gonna be so happy to see Hiroto and the plant. He was so worried on that call,” he said, missing his little brother.

Hawks smiled at Dabi when he took the bag from him. He settled into just holding the arsons hand as they walked, lacing their fingers together. “Not completely sure unless there is a garden store. But I have seen random stores just have them around too,” he told the alpha as he looked around, hoping to see something that would catch his eye. He wanted something simple and cute.

Dabi squeezed the blonde’s hand. He wished he could hear Hiroto’s little heartbeat all the time. He should have taken a video. His baby bird was such a champ. “You’re lucky you got knocked up by someone with a flame quirk. You loooooove being warm and my massages,” he teased, trying to spot a plant.

Hawks snorted softly hearing Dabi. “Guess it does have its perks.” He cooed in an amused tone. “Hiroto is gonna love sleeping on your chest,” the hero added in a loving tone. His baby all snuggled up on his dad’s chest. It was so cute and he hasn’t even seen it yet. “The extra heat is gonna feel great in a massage,” the blonde said in a longing tone, wanting to get home.

Dabi beamed proudly, loving the idea of their pup enjoying his quirk. He could almost picture it, the pup’s sweet sleepy face, his thumb in his mouth, all snuggled up to him. “I sure hope so. I really, really hope he actually gets my nose, he’s got so much of you already,” he said fondly, checking out store windows.

Hawks rolled his eyes slightly. “We both have perfectly decent noses. He will be fortunate to have either,” he told Dabi as he nudged the villain side gently. The blonde pointed at a little store seeing some plants hanging outside. “Maybe there,” the hero suggested. He didn’t know if that was decorative or if they were selling plants there.

Dabi snorted, elbowing Hawks back lightly. “Baby, your nose is waaaaay cuter than mine, I just want him to have something from me. He’s already so much yours, you know? And you’re having him and nursing him and shit. I just want a little Todoroki in there too. He’s gotta be a little like me,” he whined as they headed towards the store.

Hawks hummed softly. “Babe, his not even born yet. The kid might come out looking exactly like you with wings,” he pointed out. If not like they could tell completely yet what the pup looked like. He hoped they looked like both of them but he didn’t know at this point. “He might even have some fire quirk or ice,” the hero reasoned as he stopped at the little store and looked over the plants curiously.

Dabi pouted even though he knew Hawks was right. It was just nice to imagine his pup looking like him. He started examining the plants, unsure what he should be looking for here. “I hope he has some of the psychic shit but nothing too crazy, I don’t want a toddler throwing shit at us psychically.”

Hawks whined slightly hearing Dabi. “You are terrible with the potty talk,” he scolded Dabi. He really didn’t want to think about getting crap on him at all even though he would be lucky to avoid it. “The joys of parenthood…” he grumbled softly as he looked over the plants. “See one you like a lot? I don’t know a huge amount about them..” he said unsure as he looked over them.

Dabi shrugged, picking up a couple of little plants and trying to differentiate between them. “Uh, they’re kind of all the same to me? You see any bamboo? They just need water right? They’re like grass they kinda just grow?” he wondered out loud. “Also, it’s gross but I know what I’m talking about. Big brother privilege. You’re just gonna have to deal with the fact kids can be gross.”

Hawks grunted hearing Dabi. “That’s great to hear,” the hero said sarcastically as he pouted slightly. That sucked…his seen a lot of horror and gore but he did not like gross…”Not out here. Let’s check inside,” he told the arson before going into the little store. It did seem mostly gardening based, selling seed and things but also a few plants.

Dabi followed Hawks inside, snickering at how grossed out his mate was. “C’mon, it’ll be worth it. He’s gonna loooooove his oma so much. You’re his mom, birdie, you’re gonna be obsessed with him no matter what. Even though my mom’s a fucking nutcase and she doesn’t agree with most of what I do, she adores me, right?” he pointed out.

Hawks smile slightly at Dabi hearing him before looking away from him unsure. It was easier for Dabi to be more confident in that. Even with everything wrong with his mom, she did still love him unconditionally. Hell…he was sure even Endeavor loved his son in his own way. Hawks didn’t have that though, the unconditional love your parents were suppose to provide. What if he was the same? What if he saw his pup and felt…nothing? The blonde felt worry bubble up in him. “Yeah you’re probably right,” he still agreed. He already loved his pup…he wasn’t broken like his mom.

Dabi was sure he was right. He’d been fucking awful to his mom and she still adored him. So why wouldn’t Hawks love Hiroto? They were both already basically obsessed with the little guy. “I’m definitely right. You love his little butt already and he’s been tons of trouble,” he said happily as he looked for bamboo.

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi as he held his swollen stomach. “Yeah you’re right. I do,” he assured his mate. His pup didn’t even have to try and impress him like he had tried for his parents, he was going to love him no matter what..”Here is some bamboo,” he called over to Dabi seeing a few decorative little bamboo plants. They were pretty cute and not too big.

Dabi smiled fondly at Hawks, coming over to examine the little pots. He found a bamboo shoot in a little red plant and handed it to Hawks, wanting the blond to see how hard he was trying. “You ran away from the commission and cut a tracker out of your arm for him, twice,” he reminded Hawks with a kiss on the cheek. “You’re not gonna balk just because he’s gonna be smelly and messy sometimes.”

Hawks watched Dabi come over and pick up one of the plants. The blonde took the little pot when it was passed to him before looking up at Dabi hearing him. The omega felt his lip quiver slightly at the arson’s words. He was right. He had already done so much more for his pup that his parents had. The hero swallowed his emotions down as he took as soft breath and gave Dabi a affirming nod. “I know. Thank you,” he told his mate relieved before kissing him softly.

Dabi stroked Hawks’ cheeks, giving his mate a warm look. “Yeah, just calling it like I see it, babe. We’re doing right by him, okay? Save the stress for when we have to worry about which contractions are real.”

Hawks snorted softly hearing his mate as he leaned into Dabis touch. “Yeah cause that’s gonna be real fun. No one said I would be getting fake contractions too.” The hero complained. “Let’s go get this little guy paid for so we can get home. Did you wanna cook or pick food up?” He asked Dabi as the blonde headed to the counter to pay for their new floral family member.

Dabi sighed, tapping his fingers on the counter. “I know we spent a lot today, but I’d rather focus on giving you a massage and starting on the baby book,” he admitted, hating how much money everything cost. He hoped he got a decent job because seriously this sucked.

Hawks nodded to Dabi slightly as he paid for the plant. “That’s fine. I don’t mind picking up something. What are you wanting?” He asked curiously as he picked the plant up and started to head out. They had a bit of a longer walk to the house than the other day. Hawks wished he didn’t live on take out as much as he did, maybe then he would know how to cook.

Dabi hummed, lofting the bags over his shoulder. “Something spicy, that’d be great,” he suggested. “As long as your stomach is up for it, that’s what’s most important. You guys need to eat. I want him to come out nice and strong”, he said giving a little pat on the omega’s belly.

Hawks watched Dabi with an amused look as he let the alpha pet his belly. “Okay. Maybe curry?” He suggested. “I probably won’t get anything too spicy,” he admitted. He was feeling pretty good right now and didn’t was to risk messing it up with spicy food but he could go for some flavor. He was sure he saw a curry place on the way to the hospital this morning.

Dabi nodded, glad they were able to easily pick a place. “Curry’s good. Let’s get some food and get you home, we have a lot of work to do,” he said, excited to have all of the ultrasounds lined up. “Could we put a note in saying today was the first time I saw him and how psyched I was or whatever?” he suggested.

Hawks nodded when they agreed on a place. He was getting pretty hungry so this worked out great. “Works for me,” he cooed as they headed back home. The curry place was closer to their building. “Yeah sure. Little notes would be cute so we can remember,” the blonde agreed wholeheartedly. In a few years they could look back and remember everything fondly, hopefully anyways.

Dabi snorted, amused by how happy Hawks sounded even though he was just as excited. “We’re already such dorks for him. Imagine his first day of school and shit. We’re gonna be such fucking losers,” he said fondly. “My mom’s gonna be so excited to see the ultrasound. I’m sad she’s not gonna be here when he’s born, y’know? It’d be nice to have her help, plus she’s never been so fucking excited.”

Hawks smiled at Dabi happily as they walked down the side walk together. His feet were hurting but it wasn’t too hard to ignore since he was having a good time. “I don’t even want to think about sending him to school. Maybe the break will be nice but I’ll be so worried,” he explained with a pout. His poor baby, alone and out in the world…”Yeah I know…some advice from experience would be nice…or just any heads up really,” the hero agreed. He wished his mom cared enough to write a book or even take pictures.

Dabi nodded, swinging their bags as they walked. “Yeah, she was so excited to help you with him. Maybe someday it’ll be safe enough to bring her here, you know? She should get to see omegas just being fucking regular ass people. Plus, I think Geten needs a parental figure that isn’t a cult leader,” he said with a laugh.

Hawks tilted his head as he watched Dabi. Maybe this would be a good place for his mom. The hero world has done her no favors for sure…she would probably do well in a place like this. The hero laughed heading Dabi talk about Geten. “Yeah you’re probably right, though I don’t get the feeling his close to his family,” the blonde pointed out. There was just an air about him that let him know the guy was more or less alone

Dabi nodded, trying not to laugh himself. “No, probably not, but all the more reason it’d be good for him to get close to mine. It mellowed me the fuck out. I’m practically normal now,” he boasted. “I just hate that they’re all there for Endeavor to harass about us being missing, because you know he is,” he pouted.

Hawks nodded slightly, it could help him, hopefully he didn’t crazy hate his family. But if he did he probably wouldn’t be okay with Dabi. “Yeah I totally get that…I really need to see how the news is reporting it. Maybe they haven’t even told anyone we left yet,” he said unsure, wondering if the commission would try and find him before reporting that he betrayed them. It was going to be a shit show for them no matter what.

Dabi huffed, hoping his dad and the commission didn’t make this a crazy big deal but knowing they definitely would. “We should look it up when we get home, but after we have fun and shit, I don’t wanna be in a bad mood while we celebrate our little man,” he said firmly. They deserved to just enjoy their crafts.

Hawks relaxed slightly hearing Dabi, he was perfect fine putting off the inevitable for a little bit longer. “Okay, that sounds good. I think that’s the place,” the blonde announced seeing a smaller building that seemed to be more like a food truck. It had a large window where you seemed to order and pick up and a nice patio area where you could seat and eat if you chose to.

Dabi nodded, examining the restaurant. “Wanna eat out in public, since we can?” he asked, giving Hawks a reassuring smile. “The weather’s nice and we only have a million dates to catch up on,” he teased.

Hawks hummed softly at he looked over the little patio before nodding. “Yeah let’s do it. This place looks cute,” he agreed. It would be nice to sit down for a little and rest his feet before heading back home.

Dabi wrapped his arm around his mate’s waist, leaning down to lightly scent him as they got in line. “Now I finally get to show you off,” he cooed, feeling more than a little possessive. “You look so fucking pretty today. I can’t wait until our next appointment. He’s gonna be huge. Do they know how big he’s gonna be yet when you give birth?” he asked excitedly, noticing with some embarrassment a fond look from an omega mother who seemed to think his excitement and fawning over Hawks were cute. It was deeply weird to be stared at for a good thing.

Hawks leaned into Dabi as he was pulled close and scented. It felt nice to be able to publicly love on each other. He loved his mate so much. The blonde blushed deeply at Dabis comments. He loved the praise but it was a little embarrassing. “Well usually a baby is 6 to 9 pounds when born so pretty big. I hope his not a giant,” the hero said slightly concerned. He didn’t want the baby to have that much of Endeavors or Natsuos genes. He rubbed his stomach gently as if to try and get a feel for him. “Won’t know until then though,” he explained. Hawks looked slightly at the other omega seeing her look before looking at her little pup in his stroller, napping away. He smiled warmly before nuzzling into Dabi. Soon they were have their own pup to push around and cuddle with.

Dabi patted Hawks on the stomach, giving the blonde’s baby bump a stern look. “Don’t you dare take after your uncle Natsu if you want a little sibling, Hiroto,” he teased. “Your oma’s already had to deal with a lot, at least try to be too big,” he laughed as they moved up in line. It felt good to be seen for his positive traits and not just his quirk and emotions and the murders. “Whatcha gonna order? Think Hiroto’s willing to try chicken today? Oh! Do you need to sit or anything? I can order for both of us if you give me the cash” he offered, remembering that Hawks’ feet hurt.

Hawks laughed gently as he watched Dabi warn the pup not to be as big as his uncle, at least not right away. “Seems like it’s only fried chicken his against. The Katsu was fine and the baked,” he explained, wanting the chicken curry. “I’ll try the chicken. It’s mostly a smell thing anyways and you can’t smell anything but the sauce usually.” The hero reasoned before looking at one of the table. “Yeah I’ll sit down.” He agreed before pulling out some cash that should cover them before kissing his mate’s cheek and heading to the table to sit down, letting out a sigh of relief.

Dabi nodded, committing mild chicken curry to memory and taking the cash. It was good Hawks was getting them a table anyway, this place seemed pretty popular. When he reached the front, he ordered Hawks’ food and got himself a couple of curry pan and a water bottle for each of them. He jogged over to the table with their food, smiling at his mate. “Your meal, sir,” he said in a joking tone, sitting down across from Hawks.

Hawks watched Dabi warmly as he watched the alpha order their food before paying. He just loved everything the guy did, even him just standing there waiting for food. The blonde perked up when he jogged over with the food. “Thanks, what do I owe you?” He teased back softly as he took his tray and opened it up. It smelt great, he was so hungry too. This place was really cute, and even though people were looking at them, no one seemed to be taking pictures, it’s like they were all in on keeping their secrets.

Dabi tapped his chin in exaggerated thought before pointing to his lips. “One kiss,” he announced smugly, loving when Hawks got slightly embarrassed by their PDA. “Everybody’s so jealous of me and my pregnant hottie,” he said smugly, amused by their positive reception.

Hawks watched Dabi before blushing at his request. The blonde smirk before leaning in and kissing his lips softly. “They better be,” he cooed back amused before settling back to eat before his pup got upset at being hungry. “It feels so good to be out,” Hawks said relieved, looking around the shopping area happily.

Dabi took a large bite of his food, grinning around the mouthful. “I can’t wait until we have Hiroto with us for shit like this. He’s gonna be sooooo cute that all these family-having normies are gonna lose it,” he said proudly. “How’s your food? That mild enough for you guys?”

Hawks grinned back at Dabi hearing his smug tone. His baby would be better than everyone else’s. He already had an amazing quirk, everyone loved the wings even without the feather control. “They will, and we’re gonna dress him so cute,” he cooed happily as he ate. The food tasted great really, not the best his ever had but with how hungry he was it was God sent. “Good. I probably could have taken more spice actually. Maybe Hiroto likes spicy food,” the hero considered as he drank down some water.

Dabi beamed, his smile taking over his entire face. “Just like me!” he crowed, proud they’d finally found something he and the pup had in common. Hiroto had to like him if they had stuff in common. What did he and Endeavor even have in common besides their eyes and quirk? Probably nothing—he wasn’t anything like his dad.

Hawks gave Dabi a slightly surprised look when his mate got extremely excited before laughing softly. “Yes like you,” he cooed in an amused tone as he ate. “It’s so weird though, I don’t usually like spicy food but now I really want some…pregnancy is so strange,” the blonde complained, maybe he should pick up some spicy snacks

Dabi finished off his bread. Today had been what their last date should have been. They were figuring this shit out and by the time Hiroto was here there’d be more days like this than anything else. “Thanks for giving our shopping day another go, birdie.”

Hawks ate his food eagerly but tried not to go to fast and give himself a stomach ache. He looked up at Dabi hearing him before giving this mate a soft look. “Anytime. A little argument isn’t gonna keep me away from you,” he assured the arson softly, glad they were able to come out again and have a nice day together.

Something in Dabi’s chest shifted at Hawks’ words. It was so relieving to hear his mate’s words, something he’d been waiting his whole life for, someone whose love might really be unconditional. “Softie,” he teased. “I’m psyched we’re together for this. Love you, Hawks.”

Hawks snorted softly hearing Dabi. “I love you too Dabi,” he told the arson back as he continued to eat his meal. His never had someone he could rely on so heavily and they never really complained about him. Someone who did it because they actually cared about him not because it would look good or they had to. The blonde finished up his food and water before sighing in content. “The weather has been a lot better lately.” He praised. It was still pretty cool outside but it felt great to him. Usually, he hated this time of year but maybe he was warmer with the extra weight.

Dabi rubbed his foot against Hawks’ ankle, humming happily. “Yeah, it’s finally warming up for you,” he teased softly. “My poor little birdie, how’d you ever get by without me. You’re gonna be a fucking menace if he has a flame quirk, you know? I’m never gonna get to hold him,” he teased.

Hawks felt Dabi rub his ankle as he leaned against his arm on the table. “It feels great right now. Don’t want it to get much hotter,” he admitted. He felt like it would be too hot if the weather kept warming up. The blonde laughed softly. “Well, you could hold me while I hold him,” he teased softly as he waited for Dabi to finish up his food. “My warm snuggly baby,” he cooed. His pup would be just like a little heating pad.

Dabi snickered and sipped his drink. “That doooooes sound pretty good, but I need Hiroto snuggles too. His little baby wings are gonna be sooooooo soft,” he cooed. “I hate that I’m so excited about his quirk, but it’s fucking adorable. Plus, your wings were one of the first things I loved about you,” he told Hawks as he finished up. He started gathering their trash to toss.

Hawks chuckled softly hearing Dabi. “We’ll I’m sure I will sleep at some point, then you can hold him,” he teased gently as he helped the villain gather the trash up. “Yeah? Well  sure they will be perfect,” he cooed. “I’m excited too though. His going to be so great..and awful but I still can’t wait,” he added in loving tone.

Dabi grabbed the trash from Hawks, tossing all their garbage before returning and grabbing their bags from the craft store. “You’d fucking better,” he teased, sticking out his tongue. “God, it felt so real finally getting to see and hear him. He really moved and shit! He’s gonna be here in a couple months! Our son!” he said, getting excited all over again.

Hawks watched Dabi clean up before slowly standing up from the table. He stretched out slightly before relaxing, ready to continue the walk home. “I know! Only a few more months,” he said almost shocked. These days were going to go by too fast he felt. The blonde started to walk back towards the apartment with his mate. He was excited to start adding more to the baby book.

Dabi wrapped his arm around Hawks again, kissing his mate’s head as they walked. “We should do a page with all the baby names we didn’t pick,” he suggested. “And maybe guesses about what we think he’s gonna look like? I want it to be fun for him when he’s old enough to give a shit that we did all this,” he said with a laugh.

Hawks leaned into Dabi’s arm as the villain held him close and gave him a warm kiss on the head. “Sure. We can add whatever we want. I know I gonna fill that thing up with pictures, so we just have to make sure we have a ton of space,” he cooed happily. He was glad Dabi was so into the baby book and wanted to help, it was fun to do together

Dabi snorted, glad when their building came into view. He didn’t want Hawks in extra pain or anything. “We have plenty of space, lovebird. Plus we can put photos of him everywhere. We’ll get him on the fridge and walls and wherever you want,” he teased.

Hawks grinned hearing Dabi as he nuzzled against the alphas neck gently. “Good. I want his picture everywhere,” he told his mate happily. A good reminder of what they created together and that they were a family. The blonde relaxed seeing the complex. He was ready to be home and relaxing.

Dabi snorted, amused by how quickly they’d both adapted to being dweeby parents. They were already a great family. He still missed the League, especially Tomura, but this was awesome. “Let’s get you inside,” he said, opening the door for his mate. “You’re such a fucking mom, you know that? I wouldn’t have ever expected this for either of us but you’re kind of a natural,” he praised as they made it to their door.

Hawks let Dabi lead the way as they got into the complex and headed up to their room. The blonde blushed deeply hearing Dabi. “Do you really think so?” He asked his mate softly as he let them into the apartment. “I really want to pick up on all this naturally. My parents definitely didn’t. I have been a little worried it wouldn’t come so easy to me,” the hero admitted as he kicked his shoes off once inside and set the little plant down

Dabi nodded, taking off his boots. Shoto’s little friend had done a kickass job on them. He’d thank her, but it’d probably end with him in prison for the rest of his life. “I mean, yeah. You’ve been protective since you found out about him. You’re super affectionate towards him already. You worry about his little health and wings and how we’re gonna deal with everything. It seems like it’s going well,” he praised, setting their craft materials down on the kitchen counter. “You last saw your mom, what, like seventeen-ish years ago? And your dad’s in prison, right? Fuck your dad, hate that guy, but your mom kind of reminds me of mine? Maybe she was just afraid of your dad or crazy like mine was, and that’s why she sucked. She got you that stupid doll, right? I mean, the commission never let you guys have a chance for things to get better.”

Hawks felt relief wash over him hearing Dabi praise him on all the motherly things he had done right so far. It was a relief his mate thought he was going a good job. Dabi knew more about moms and pups than him so it felt very reassuring. The blonde sighed hearing Dabi as he sat down on the couch and leaned back. “She isn’t like your mom…” he told the arson softly. “Your mom cared about you, she tried to protect you and she loved you,” Hawks insisted. “Mine just…never did. I don’t think she was scared of him. He was using her for sure but he never hit her or anything. Honestly I am not even sure she care about him, just wanted someone to protect her in a way,” the omega continued to explained as he thought back on his parent and their relationship or lack there of. “I convinced her to take me out one day, she did it so I would shut up and leave her alone. Then when I saw the toy I was being too loud and she was scared I would draw attention. She bought me the cheapest one on sale…I like to think she did it because she wanted me to have something but I really don’t believe that was why,” the hero mumbled slightly as he subconsciously rubbed his stomach to sooth himself. “I could have visited her, I just never wanted to. And neither did she,” he finished, leaving it at that.

Dabi frowned, feeling a little nauseated by Hawks’ words. It was hard for him to understand how Hawks’ mom could suck so fucking much. Sure, Rei had been largely useless a lot of the time and to this day often made him feel like shit about his personality and preferences, but she was his mom. Hawks was adorable and fun and easy to love, unlike him, so why shouldn’t his bitch mom love him? “Do you really think they’d have let you guys visit each other? They did torture you, like. I cannot stress enough that they bought you and then fully tortured you. I’m not even saying your mom could be awesome or anything, I just think it might be worth having a conversation with her someday. You can only assume until you hear it from her. I thought Rei fucking hated me after our last fight until I talked to her,” he pointed out. “It’s shitty, Hawks, and I know that, I just feel bad that you had the world’s worst childhood and I think she owes you some answers.”

Hawks frowned as he looked at Dabi hearing him. This wasn’t his top choice of conversation to be having. “Yea. It’s not like I’m hard to fine. I’m the number 2 hero. I know where she lives. They have her set up in a nice house. But, if you can believe it, I just never cared to go check in on her,” he explained in a more bitter tone. Why should he? His already given her and done more for her than she ever did for him. The blonde looked away hearing Dabi stress how awful he was treated, it just felt more surreal to him than anything. “I don’t want to have a conversation with her. Trust me Dabi, I know her, it won’t help or fix anything. Hell, I don’t even think she hates me, I think she doesn’t feel anything for me period,” the omega explained as he shook his head. “She won’t have answers, and even if she did they won’t change anything or make me feel better. I left that stuff behind and that’s where I want it to stay,” he told his mate in a stern tone. No need to drag up stuff his already dealt with.

Dabi sighed, hating how defensive Hawks had become and that he’d upset his mate yet again. “Okay, okay. It just seems like it still bothers you, you know, since you worry about how you’re gonna be with Hiroto and shit. I just figure dealing with the past helped me a lot, it might be worth trying with you,” he protested. “But yeah, I mean, I guess you know best. It’s just a suggestion, Hawks,” he mumbled, his distress at Hawks’ tone obvious.

Hawks rubbed his face slightly hearing him. “My past does bother me. Lots of stuff happened and none of it prepared me for a family…but I don’t need to go down dead ends to try and fix something that’s not there,” the blonde reasoned before sitting up slightly. “You’re helping me. Us is helping me…I don’t need her and never have. I just need you okay?” The hero said softly as he reached out for Dabi to come to him seeing he was distressed. “I’m glad you have hope it can be fixed but trust me. Nothing good would come from me talking to my mom,” he reasoned with his mate. He wasn’t mad at him, he just hated thinking about it.

Dabi melted seeing Hawks reach for him. He flung himself into the blonde’s arms, wrapping his own around the smaller man’s waist and pulling him close. “Okay, I just want you to have a better support system I guess? I love being important to you, but you’re too awesome to keep all to myself, as much as I might like to,” he teased. “I just want you to feel better, birdie. You’re having to process a lot of bullshit with the commission and my dad and whatever,” he tried to assure his mate.

Hawks relaxed as Dabi took him into his arms and held him close. He nuzzled into Dabis shoulder, scenting himself slightly against his neck. “I know. But that’s just not going to happen with her. Will figure something else out,” he assured the arson. “For now. This is good. I have what I need,” he promised Dabi gently before kissing his cheek softly.

Dabi smiled at the kiss, giving Hawks a reassuring pat on his lower back. “You’re so cute sometimes, you know that? You went from not even knowing you were nesting to scenting yourself just to cheer up. My sweet little lovebird. You wanna do his baby book then? Or you want your massage first?”

Hawks listened to Dabi as he blushed at the comment, nuzzling his face into his mates chest. He had come a long way and was figuring a lot of stuff about himself out, it was nice in some ways and scary in others. “A massage,” he told the alpha as he grinned up at him slightly. He definitely wanted to get in comfortable clothes and get treated first

Dabi laughed, kissing Hawks on the tip of his nose. “Okay, spoiled little brat, go get into your comfy clothes and then come hang out here on the sofa,” he told his mate gently, punctuating his request with another kiss.

Hawks listened to his lover with a delighted look before laughing softly hearing him. “Yes sir,” he teased before getting up and heading to the room to get changed. Once he had his comfortable pants and a loose shirt, the blonde returned to the living room. “Ready?” He asked the alpha happily as he sat back on the plush couch.

Dabi gave Hawks a warm smile and sat down on the far side of the couch, giving Hawks a big smile as he patted his lap. “C’mere, birdie. Sorry we’ve had to walk so much. I’m glad we got the bus passes. I can’t imagine you’re gonna want to ride your bike if you get much bigger,” he said with a snort.

Hawks watched Dabi pat his lap before grinning as he lifted his bare feet and laid them across his lap. He was a little embarrassed, his never had this done in such a personal setting before. His toe nails were still the natural black color he was born with. The commission didn’t think it was necessary to remove them since they didn’t sharpen, they were just ridiculously thick. “Yeah probably not. I was already a bit off balance the first time,” he explained.

Dabi stared at Hawks’ nails, pouting. “I thought you weren’t gonna borrow my nail polish,” he whined, letting his hands warm up. “I would’ve painted them for you. You did really good though, like really good,” he praised, working his knuckles into the bridges of Hawks’ feet.

Hawks tilted his hand slightly hearing Dabi as he looked down at his toes confused. The blonde laughed slightly. “Thanks but I didn’t paint them. They are naturally black,” he explained amused before moaning softly and relaxing back as his feet were rubbed, that felt amazing

Dabi bent down to examine Hawks’ nails closely. “Huh. But you had regular fingernails? Quirk stuff’s weird,” he mumbled, continuing to work on Hawks’ feet. How much of a bird was their baby going to be? He really hoped Hiroto made the same cute noises as Hawks, that was going to make for the most adorable home videos of all time.

Hawks watched the arson look over his toes as he grinned slightly. He it seemed like he liked them well enough, Dabi always seemed to like his quirk stuff. The hero looked at his hands slightly. “They were when I was born. But they were pretty sharp and dangerous,” he explained with a shrug before resting his hands against his stomach. Dabis hands felt great on his feet. They were so warm and firm

Dabi hummed, glancing at Hawks’ hands. “When’d they change? You think Hiroto’s gonna have little talons too or something? That’s fucking adorable,” he cooed, imagining their sharp little baby. “He’s gonna hold his fucking own if anyone’s dumb enough to pick on him. We might not even get the chance to freak out on the kids and their parents,” he said, excited by the idea.

Hawks hummed softly hearing Dabi, he had a feeling his mate wouldn’t like the answer but its wasn’t that big a deal. “I had a procedure. When I was around 7 I think. When you remove a nail completely it doesn’t grow back. So, they were removed and new nail beds were implanted,” he explained briefly. “There is a good chance. They will be a nightmare to take care of though. We will need some serious nail clippers,” he told the alpha amused as he tried to move on from the topic. When it happened, it sucked and was a bit painful but he didn’t miss them terribly or anything.

Dabi paused his actions, watching Hawks’ face. “What the actual fuck?” he said, incredulous. “They declawed you like a fucking cat or something? Aren’t you not even supposed to do that to cats? Jesus Christ,” he muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. “We can get one of those heavy duty files or something, but it’s his body, his quirk. Just because it can be dangerous doesn’t mean he needs to feel like shit about it,” he decided.

Hawks frowned softly when Dabi reacted the way he suspected he would. “I don’t know I guess so,” he mumbled softly as he held himself slightly. “It’s fine though. It doesn’t bother me or anything,” he assured Dabi. “Yeah we will take care of it. Just need to be careful when his little he doesn’t hurt himself. I don’t think they will really get Sharp until his older though,” the hero explained. He never really considered his nails again after they healed up, guess it would be nice to have but it was fine.

Dabi huffed, going back to the massage. “We’ll keep him safe. We got those mittens, and if those don’t work we’ll figure something out. It’s too bad we can’t ask Spinner. He’s got those claws, he might have some ideas,” Dabi said wistfully. “I’m sorry, birdie. You’d have been badass with claws. Those would’ve been fun when you get all clingy and shit in bed,” he laughed.

Hawks relaxed a little when Dabi started to massage again and talk about the pup. “Yeah I’m sure someone else here might have some ideas. Maybe the doctor will have an idea or at least some clippers so we can watch him. The blonde looked at Dabi softly hearing him. “Yeah would have been pretty dangerous,” he teased back softly. He was relieved that Dabi didn’t get too upset. He knew it wouldn’t be at him but it still made him tense and nervous. “That feels really good,” Hawks praised his mate as he worked his knuckles into sore spots on his feet.

Dabi laughed, shaking his head. “You’re so easy to please,” he teased, sticking out his tongue. “And you forget, I like danger~” he teased. “I thought you were another alpha, and you were still a hero,” he said with a snort. Honestly, he was lucky he wasn’t dead, the way he’d pushed it with Hawks.

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi. “I guess that is true. Your just lucky your good at what you do,” he teased the villain warmly as his feet were rubbed. He wondered how things would have went if he didn’t enjoy himself that night…it was hard to envision. “Cool if I put on the news?” He asked Dabi as he grabbed the remote. He really wanted to see what was going on.

Dabi nodded, not too worried about whatever they’d see on the news. If it was that distressing, they’d just turn it off. “Go for broke, we have to find out whatever shit my dad’s pulling eventually, right?” he asked.

Hawks nodded slightly. “That’s what I was thinking. Need to find out if I’m the new public enemy number one,” he told his mate as he flipped on the tv and head to the news. The blonde relaxed back on the couch as he watched, waiting to see if he came up at all or even the league. He was pretty out of the loop right now.

Dabi slumped into the couch, moving to work on Hawks’ ankles. “It’s weird how off the radar the League’s been, right? I didn’t exactly expect Tomura to take it easy on Tenko or Eri’s behalf. Maybe Kurogiri locked him in his room?” he half-joked. “What photo you think they’re gonna use now that you’re a wanted criminal?” he teased.

Hawks nodded slightly hearing Dabi. “Yeah sort of. Maybe he really is keeping the pregnancy and is just taking it easy? Or maybe his working on other stuff now that All for One is locked up?” He asked unsure. The hero snorted softly. “Well the commissioner said something about painting me out to being a confused omega that got mislead, so who knows, maybe they will try and say I’m just confused,” he told the alpha. They would do anything not to look like they failed, or it was their fault.

Dabi pouted, giving Hawks a disappointed look. “Aw, c’mon. That’s gonna make me look like a fucking creep. We’re engaged!” he complained. “You’re not like a fucking idiot or something, you’ve got agency,” he argued. “This is all such bullshit. God, I hope they don’t try to say me or anybody else in the League is pulling Tomura’s strings. He’d gonna fucking kill me,” he mumbled.

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi, “I wouldn’t doubt that they would if they find out about you, anything to push the blame on someone else and preserve hero society…” he told the arson. “I know. But with how people are acting, I’m sure they will eat that crap up and use it to prevent other omegas from being hero’s…I really don’t want them to use me as a scapegoat,” the blonde grumbled before looking at Dabi. “They aren’t confirming Shigaraki is an omega for a reason. They don’t want people to know. And I’m sure if they find out they will blame it on you or All for One grooming him,” Hawks explained. He had a general idea where the Comission would want to go with all of that mess.

Dabi huffed, annoyed at the prospect of being blamed. “The All for One thing is probably the truth, but I don’t think that has anything to do with his gender. You know he couldn’t control his quirk when it manifested? He told me one time that he killed his family when he got it. His dad he might have meant to kill, but I dunno about the rest of them. I mean, I know I was basically dead when All for One found me, but he was littler and had just killed his fucking family. As much as I want him to have kept Tenko… I dunno. He probably didn’t,” he finally admitted out loud. Tomura was weird about family, it’d be a lot to expect him to keep the pup. Either it’s Overhaul’s, and he hates Overhaul, so why keep it, or it’s mine, and he really, really hates me,” he said, curling up into the sofa. “Whatever. If anyone could control anything he did, do you really think he’d look that greasy and weird all the time?” he pointed out.

Hawks listened to Dabi curiously as he talked about Shigaraki and his past. It actually kind of sounded like All for One did groom the omega leader. It probably didn’t have anything to do with his gender but he definitely did lead him down this path and into villainy. It definitely sounded like he had a hard time with his family before he was out on this path anyways. “Well he has been silent a while so there is a chance,” he encouraged the alpha slightly, not wanting him upset. The hero snorted slightly at the dig towards Shigaraki. “Yeah I guess so,” the blonde agreed before looking at the tv hearing his name. The woman was talking about how he was missing and presumably abducted by villains. “Missing?” He said amused. “They are saying I’m kidnapped? Wow…I didn’t expect that,” he said slightly surprised. He thought they would at least make him out to not be trustworthy.

Dabi groaned, glaring at the tv and stamping his feet into the ground. “God damn it, I am not a kidnapper. I mean, Bakugou, I guess, but that was a group thing. I do arson and murder. You’re a fucking adult. Do you think my dad told them I took you or something?” he suggested, angry at the slander of his character.

Hawks huffed softly. “I know. Now I look like some idiot that got picked up, not someone trying to change the system,” he grumbled along with his mate. This sucked…”He probably did. I was trying to be nice to him before I left so he wouldnt follow me or get suspicious. I told him you wanted to stay at Reis alone and I was bringing you some things,” the blonde explained.

Dabi closed his eyes, slumping into the couch with a groan. “God fucking damn it. You think he gave my name and everything too? What if these cult weirdoes think this is too much heat? Why the fuck can’t he just leave well enough alone?” he said tensely. “You’re a god damn adult, you want to be here.”

Hawks sighed slightly as he rubbed his head. “Um…no I don’t think he will. It would put too much heat on him admitting your his son.” The blonde reasoned. “Especially if he had to explain why you would take me,” the hero added as he rubbed his head, slightly stressed out by this news, but it could be worse.

Dabi grunted, moving out from under the blonde’s feet to lay on Hawks, hiding his face in the blonde’s neck. “This fucking sucks. Tell me when you turn it off, I’m just getting angry,” he grumbled, closing his eyes despite his face already being hidden.

Hawks watched Dabi shift around to come lay on him. “Okay babe, just a little while longer to make sure I hear everything,” he assured his mate, wrapping his arms around the alpha as he rubbed his back gently. “Don’t worry too much about it. They haven’t even said it was you,” he soothed the villain.

Dabi sighed and nuzzled into Hawks, trying to tune out the tv. It felt like it was just a matter of time before his dad made this even worse and brought his name into it. Then what were they gonna do? He just wanted to have a semi-normal life, he’d even given up on killing his dad.

“Your chest is getting softer,” he mumbled happily. “It’s so fucking cozy.”

Hawks watched the tv as they briefed over his story. They all seemed pretty worried about him. He wondered how many knew the truth. The blonde looked at Dabi flustered hearing him. “It’s not for you.” He complained embarrassed as he flicked the tv to a different channel so they didn’t have to watch the news anymore.

Dabi looked up at Hawks with puppy-dog eyes, jutting his lower lip out. “I mean, if that’s how you feel, I guess I won’t play with your chest anymore when we fuck,” he whined, poking Hawks in the arm. “C’mon, I think it’s cute.”

Hawks watched Dabi pout to him before whining back softly hearing him. “You’re so mean,” he complained back with his own pout. “It’s definitely something I’m having to get used to. Not so bad I guess but man they do get sore,” he admitted to the arson.

Dabi kissed Hawks’ shirt over his chest, humming softly. “Yup, I’m terrible, and you fucking love me anyway,” he said smugly. “I just love that you’re really becoming a mom now. It’s cute as hell,” he cooed. “Don’t worry, I couldn’t keep my hands of your chest if my life depended on it,” he assured the omega.

Hawks shivered feeling Dabi kiss his chest as he blushed deeper. “I know. No idea what’s wrong with me,” he teased back gently as he ran his finger through Dabi’s hair. “It’s weird but I’m glad I get to be a mom I guess…glad to Hiroto mostly,” the hero explained.

Dabi nodded, kissing Hawks on the neck and snuggling closer. “We couldn’t have had a better kid. I know we haven’t met him physically yet, but I already know he’s the best oldest son a family’s ever had, including me,” he said, proud of his baby bird. “He’s gonna be such a good big brother, y’know? He’s gonna get the best of both of us. Our pups are all gonna be the best little kids there ever was.”

Hawks shuttered as his neck was covered in warm kisses. He loved how warm and cozy Dabi was against him, like a weighted blanket. “Yeah his gonna be the best kid…and his siblings are gonna be just as wonderful one day,” he agreed, soaking in the praise happily as he stroked Dabis snow white hair. “I love him so much…I don’t know how I just do,” he mumbled softly as he nuzzled up to Dabi.

Dabi nodded, continuing to snuggle Hawks, hoping the warmth was comfortable. “I had a really nice day today, birdie, even with the stupid news. Someday it’s gonna be like this more often than not. Us cuddling on the couch every night. How’re your feet doing? Better now?”

Hawks yawned slightly as he held his mate close to him. “Yeah I had a good day too,” he cooed warmly as the couple laid together. “I can’t wait,” he told the villain with a grin, glad that this would be his life now. “Yeah they do feel better. The massage felt great,” the blonde praised before stretching. “We should start on the book,” he reminded the alpha. He didn’t want to get too tired before they started.

Dabi groaned. He really wanted to do the book, but Hawks was so fucking cuddly. “I’m up, I’m up,” he whined, rolling off of the blonde. “I’ll go get it, it’s in his room. Can you grab the shit we bought today?” he asked, stretching as he stood. “Be right back, lovebird,” he cooed, running off to grab the book.

Hawks laughed softly as he watched the big bad villain grumble about getting up. He would have never guess Dabi was such a cutie when they met. “Yeah I’ll get it ready,” he told the arson as he slowly got to his feet and grabbed the bag, laying the stickers and things out on the coffee table as he sat back down.

Dabi blushed at Hawks’ laughter. It wasn’t his fault the hero had turned him all soft and lame. Still, this was nice. He was happier now than he’d ever been before. He picked up the baby book, clutching it close to his chest as he returned to the living room. “Let’s do some fucking crafts!” he cheered, setting it down gently on the coffee table before snuggling up to Hawks.

Hawks grinned softly at Dabi as he came back with the book. “Love the enthusiasm,” he told the alpha before opening up the book as they sat together. They had a lot to work on. Add his new pictures, write some things down and add some pictures. Maybe he would get some pictures of the start of the baby room? He considered happily as they worked together to add all the things they got for the book.

Dabi was excited to see what work Hawks had already done on the project, but he was even more excited to work on it together. Hiroto belonged to both of them, and he’d be damned if he wasn’t emotionally involved with his kid. He didn’t need Hiroto growing up crazy like he had. “Look how much he’s grown,” he exclaimed, eyes wide. “We’re gonna bring you home soon, little dude, and then you’re gonna get huge! Just don’t be taller than me. Natsuo will tease me until I die,” he told Hawks’ belly.

Hawks looked over the book when they added the finishing touches and pictures. It was looking good, they still had so many more pages to fill with pictures of the baby. The hero looked at Dabi hearing him talk to his belly. “Just wait until you’re born to get big,” he added with a soft pat on his stomach. The blonde yawned before slowly standing up. “Think I’m ready for bed…” he told his mate tiredly. He wanted to go lay down now.

Dabi patted Hawks’ belly over his hand before standing himself. “Bedtime it is,” he announced, biting back a yawn. He wished he could make Tenko a little baby book too. Maybe he’d write letters or something to Tomura and Tenko and Eri. He wasn’t sure why he was even attached to Eri, since they’d never met, but if she was Tomura’s kid then she was his kid too, as crazy as that sounded.

“C’mon, kidnapping victim, let’s get some shuteye,” he teased, taking off his shirt as they walked and throwing it in their laundry basket.

Hawks laughed softly as his belly was rubbed as he walked towards the bed room. “Yes mister villain,” he teased as they entered the room. Hawks yawned loudly before sliding into the bed and curling up around his pillow happily. He loved this thing, it made sleeping great.

Dabi pulled off his pants, kicking them into the corner, before crawling into bed in his underwear. Hawks looked so peaceful when he was happy. He couldn’t believe he’d been okay with killing Hawks once upon a time and now the hero was the most important thing in his life. “You’re lucky you’re cute,” he teased. “I let you get away with so much bullshit.”

Hawks gave Dabi the side eye hearing him. “Oh whatever. Like you could do anything even if wasn’t to,” he teased the alpha with a smirk as he closed his eyes and nuzzled into his pillow. He still was fairly confident he could kick Dabi’s ass.

Dabi snorted and wrapped an arm loosely around Hawks and his pillow. “I could kick your ass easy if you weren’t so fucking adorable. Now get some sleep, we’ve got to store up on it before Hiroto’s bird screams keep us up all night,” he teased, shutting his eyes with a yawn.

Hawks shook his head slightly. “Keep dreaming pretty boy.” He teased back softly as he relaxed him Dabis hold. It didn’t take him long to comply as he easily passed on against his pillow into a deep sleep. He really was going to need a lot of rest before his pup got here.

Things went pretty easy until it was time for Dabi’s appointment. It felt stupid, but the whole thing had him really anxious. He hadn’t seen a doctor who wasn’t on All for One’s payroll in over a decade. Who knew what they’d say about his health? What if he couldn’t be there for his pup and mate like he needed to be? He sat nervously on the sofa, hair and makeup done in his usual jacket, waiting for Geten to walk him to the hospital. On top of everything else he still had to ask for documents and shit for him and Hawks.

Hawks watched Dabi worried as he finished his breakfast. “You’re gonna be fine okay? This is a good thing,” he encouraged the alpha warmly before looking at the door hearing the knock. “Try not to stress. Only one of us need high blood pressure,” he teased his mate softly as he ran his finger though the arsons white hair before pulling back to let him go.

Dabi leaned in and gave Hawks a kiss on the cheek, smiling nervously at the blond. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll keep it together. Just be safe, okay? Call me if you need anything,” he said firmly before walking to open the door. “Sup, Geten,” he said, trying to sound casual. “Let’s go see a doctor.”

Hawks smiled at the kiss before waving to his mate slightly as he headed to the door. “I will. Be careful,” he called after the alpha. He would probably start on making that stuffed animal. It would take him a long while.

Geten yawned slightly as he waited for the couple to answer before humming seeing Dabi answer the door. He nodded in greeting before heading back towards the elevator. He hoped this went well over all. They needed powerful healthy soldiers and Dabi would be much more useful if he could go for long periods without burning.

Dabi hurried after Geten, wondering what it would be like to be alone with his crazy culty cousin. Did Geten even have any interests outside of this stupid cult? “How you been?” he attempted conversation as they rode downstairs, clenching his fists nervously. “Hawks is good. Hiroto too,” he added.

Geten side eyed Dabi when he started some small talk before scratching his head slightly. “I have been a bit busy. Nothing too important but there is always work to do,” he explained. “That’s good. Do you think the pup will have an ice quirk or just heteromorph?” He asked slightly interested by the idea.

Dabi sighed, giving a little shrug. “Honestly? I’m not sure. I hope he gets ice though. As long as his body can handle it, I mean. I don’t know how I’m gonna feel about it if he has fire,” he admitted. “He’s got a lot on his plate already and he isn’t even born yet. Last thing the kid needs is a crummy quirk like mine.”

Geten snorted slightly hearing Dabi. “It’s not your fault. The family only has itself to blame,” he told the arson as he shook his head. “Ice would be good, strong, fire might be, I don’t know much about Endeavors history,” the omega admitted. “How did your mother take you dating a heteromorph?” He asked curiously. He didn’t imagine she would be happy but Dabi spoke like she was happy to be involved.

Dabi shrugged, honestly unsure if the heteromorph stuff had bothered his mom. “I think fine? Mostly she wishes he was a more typical omega, I guess, or that I was a more typical alpha. I think it probably helps people’s reaction in general that Hawks just looks like an angel or whatever and not a full bird like that goth kid he used to mentor,” he said thoughtfully. “My dad did a real number on her. She’s finally standing up for herself though, and I think if she got to see more omegas like you just getting to be fucking people then she’d be a little more confident. Hawks and Fuyumi have helped her a lot I think. She’s really excited to be a grandmother, which is nice. She’s not happy a lot,” he explained.

Geten listened to Dabi with a slightly raised brow. “Yeah I guess he isn’t too much of one but the family is usually extremely strict about breeding with heteromorph,” he explained as he crossed his arms. He definitely didn’t agree with it but it was to keep the bloodline pure. “You don’t know anything about the Himura clan do you? Guess it makes sense since they are basically a dead clan and the Todoroki family has more power than them,” the omega reasoned. Rei got out of the family way before he did but he was surprised they didn’t teach them anything about her family.

Dabi shook his head, examining Geten closely. “Nope, met her parents a couple times, but they didn’t like me. I mean, most people didn’t like me, I was a shitty kid, but they seemed to like Fuyumi and Natsu more even when I was being good,” he explained. “I figure they’re traditional and shit. And poor, right? That’s why he bought mom.”

Geten rolled his eyes slightly hearing Dabi. “Of course not. You didn’t get their precious ice quirk,” he told the arson. “Yes. The family was very persistent about keeping the blood pure. Started…inter marrying,” the omega told his cousin. “Without any new blood the family got too small, started selling off omegas to try and remain relevant,” Geten finished.

Dabi snorted, pretty grossed out by the idea of incest in his family tree. “Glad you’re not there dealing with that then,” he said, giving Geten a pat on the back. “That’s fucking awful. I’m glad mom got out too, though I wish she’d ended up with someone better. Although, I guess if you’re gonna buy an omega you probably just suck, right?” he said, kicking at the ground a little. “You know, when I met Hawks, I was sure he was an alpha, and I still just wanted to be with him. Why can’t more people do that? Be with people they like.”

Geten nodded to him. “Yeah I left pretty fast after I presented. Definitely wasn’t worth it. The family was shit anyways,” he told Dabi as his back was patted. It was kind of nice to talk about this stuff with someone that was in his family. “Extremely. It’s disgusting to buy a person for that. You would have to be pretty pathetic if you can’t win your own mate,” he said disgusted that they could just buy who they wanted. In the new world, they would have to earn it. Geten gave Dabi an interested look. “Really? I mean yeah I guess that does happen, but I just don’t see why. You can’t have kids, what’s the point in finding a mate?” He asked. He did see why someone would be mates for any other reason.

Dabi laughed softly, elbowing Geten again. “Yeah, he did a good job acting. Probably helps that I can’t smell much though. But seriously, even if you can’t have kids’ sex is fun. Hawks and I weren’t exactly trying for a kid,” he teased. “But even outside of that, I dunno. It’s nice not being alone? I have someone I can depend on, whose company I enjoy? Someone who I can cuddle and share chores with and hang with and shit. It’s just nice. I spent most of my life alone, and now I don’t have to be,” he explained.

Geten grunted softly as he was elbowed before blushing slightly at the way Dabi was talking. Fun? It didn’t seem extremely fun. “I have that here. At the MLA. I can depend on them and I enjoy their company,” he explained. He wasn’t sure he would need a mate for company when he worked for a large business. “Seems more like a hobby you two share or something,” Geten said with a shrug. He has been interested in sex but it felt too mortifying to think about.

Dabi laughed loudly, shaking his head. “Nah, it’s fun. You live alone, right? Wouldn’t it be nice to live with someone you trusted and cared about? It’s like having a best friend you have sex with. I had a really good community with the League too, but it isn’t the same as dating someone. Do you nest? You can have someone to cuddle in your nest, or to help out with cooking and shit. If there’s anyone whose company you like more than other people then maybe you should ask them out. We could have you both over for dinner, do a double date. I’m a really good cook. Hawks fucking sucks but y’know, he’s learning.”

Geten listened to Dabi wide eyed as he explained his version of dating to him. He had to let them in his nest? That didn’t seem extremely appropriate to him. Really the whole picture Dabi was painting for him was nothing like what he had learned about mates. “That sounds different then from what I know,” he admitted. To be fair he knew relationship were different here but it’s not like he talked about it with his co workers or anything. The omega rubbed his hands together at the offer. “No…he wouldn’t come if I asked. It would be too weird,” Geten told his cousin, declining the offer as he shook his head.

Dabi snorted again, shaking his head. “Well, yeah, but most of what people seem to talk about is omegas being subservient and shit. You’re pretty clearly not,” he said with a shrug.

He bit back as serious laugh at Geten’s declining of the invitation. “What, you mean Re-Destro? You’re ballsy, that’s for fucking sure,” he said. “You like fancy older dudes? It’s too bad you guys hate the fucking League and that Tomura wants me dead, I think you’d get along great with Compress. You’re both…” he trailed off, not sure how to say what he wanted without sounding like an asshole. “Dramatic, I guess. And really serious about history and everything. I think his great grandpa or something was a famous thief? He’s kind of doing the same villain legacy thing anyway.”

Geten felt some pride when Dabi seemed to recognize him as non submissive, that’s exactly what he wanted. He was glad one of his family members seemed to take him seriously.

The omega blushed deeply when Dabi was able to immediately guess who he was talking about. Was it that obvious? He felt so embarrassed…”I just like him. I owe him a lot and he took a chance on me and gave me a home. He is a good guy and caring,” Geten defended with a flustered look. The ice user hugged himself softly. “I’m not dramatic. And I doubt it. I don’t like a lot of people,” he complained with a slight pout. “I haven’t looked into him. His actually decent with keeping his secret identity unlike you,” he told the alpha smugly. His ally’s identity was much harder to identify than his cousin was.

Dabi rolled his eyes. “You’re a little dramatic, yeah. You’re flashier with your ice than you need to be for function’s sake. I mean, it looks good, and I’m sure it scares the shit out of people, but you’re flashy,” he pointed out.

Shaking his head, he sighed. “Yeah, well, I wanted him and the world to see me and know who I was. I wasn’t trying to be subtle. Besides, I’ve been doing villain work for like eight years now and only came on anyone’s radar when I joined the League. I’m dramatic too,” he pointed out.  “I hate pretty much everyone, but I like the League and I think you’d like Compress.  You’d hate Twice though.”

Geten mumbled under his breath hearing Dabi as he gave him a slight glare. He wasn’t dramatic. And so what if he was a little flashy? His powers were awesome cause he put a lot of work into them and deserved to be. He had seen the magician at work though and he seemed flashy. He had an interesting quirk too. It was so simple but he was so confident with it and welded it well.

“Yeah whatever. Doesn’t change anything. The Grand Commander doesn’t see me as a potential mate…” Geten said a big upset about it. He thought he would be perfect for him and he would follow him anywhere. Fortunately the alpha didn’t seem interested in anyone else or he would get horribly upset.

Dabi sighed, patting Geten on the shoulder. “Yeah, love’s a bitch sometimes. It sucks when the person you like doesn’t like you back, or even if they do they don’t like you quite as much as you like them or they don’t want to commit. But it’s still nice. The Grand Commander’s an idiot, about this one little thing anyway. It’s cool how loyal you are,” he praised his cousin.

Seriously it was a shame about the League. Compress and Geten were the same kind of weird, they’d be good friends if nothing else, and clearly Geten needed non-cult friends.

Geten looked down slightly hearing Dabi as they neared the hospital. That was true, it did suck and he didn’t even understand why he wasn’t interested in him. He always said he was proud of him and everything. The omega smiled slightly hearing Dabi’s encouragement. That made him feel a little better. “Thanks…maybe he will someday. After we complete our mission. I’m sure he wants his family line to continue. I know I do and his other followers,” the omega said warmly.

Dabi nodded, giving Geten an awkward side hug as they reached the hospital. “Yeah, maybe. You want kids sometime then? Or just because it’s him?” he asked. “It’d be pretty cute for Hiroto to have some more relatives closer to his own age since me and Hawks are waiting awhile for the next one and Tomura sooner kill me than answer a fucking text,” he complained.

Geten tensed slightly when he was hugged before relaxing slightly realizing what Dabi was doing. He hadnt been hugged in a while. “I’m not sure. I think so. I think mostly I would do it for him,” he explained. He wasn’t sure he wanted one just to have but it was what he could offer his leader. He was sure he would like the kid, it would be Re-Destros. “Yeah? That would be good. Especially if they both have ice quirks. Training would be easier,” he told his cousin. His kid would have family here they could be with. “You think Shigaraki’s kid is yours? I think most believe it’s the yakuza leaders,” he admitted to Dabi. From what they have been able to get from their conversations, that was the understanding.

Dabi laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. “We spent his heat together and he didn’t take any plan B until we’d been fucking for a couple days. The sooner the better, right? I hope they are mine, anyway. We were gonna raise them like they were, if Shigaraki kept them. Is… is he still pregnant then?” he asked hopefully.

Geten watched Dabi before humming softly. That was interesting…maybe they could use that. It would be a lot easier to remove Shigaraki in that case but he didn’t think Dabi would be okay with them killing his child…that was an issue. The omega hummed hearing Dabi’s question. “I’m not sure. We weren’t mainly focused on you and the league is a bit harder to get to. We don’t have much on them,” he admitted, only what they messaged and they had seen and heard from Overhauls police interviews. Maybe they could convince him he wasn’t pregnant? Or have Shigaraki have the pup first and give it to Dabi? He wasn’t sure. Re-Destro was already struggling with having to potentially kill a pregnant omega, but perhaps he got rid of it like Dabi seemed to believe. “Did he suggest he wouldn’t be?” He asked the arson.

Dabi glared at the floor, his chest tightening at the thought. “I dunno. He just gets mad and says shit. Before we broke up he didn’t want to keep them, but after we did he said he was gonna have them and teach them to hate me,” he said, voice breaking a little bit at the end. “So he probably is. Either way though… I really wanted to raise the pup with him, you know?”

Geten watched Dabi a he took in the information. It didn’t sound like Shigaraki was serious about keeping the pup, so hopefully he wasn’t pregnant and Re-Destro can put his mind at rest. He couldn’t wait to tell him. “Then why did you break up with him?” He asked confused. It didn’t sound like Shigaraki wanted to break up so he assumed it was Dabi who did it but that didn’t sound right either.

Dabi grunted, even more upset now. “Hawks. I thought Shigaraki and I were just screwing around, purely sex, so Hawks and I hooked up. But Shigaraki got jealous and said I couldn’t be with anyone but him, so I told Hawks we couldn’t fuck anymore. So Shigaraki and I were together, but he didn’t want to commit and I did. But then we spent his heat together and he dumped me after because I told him the person I fucked was Hawks and that Hawks was an omega, he got jealous. So then he fucked Overhaul while we were broken up, and then the day we got back together we found out he was pregnant…. Aaaaaaand that’s when Hawks showed up. Also pregnant. I have feelings for both of them and love my kids, but they fucking hate each other. Shigaraki has the League. Hawks didn’t have anyone. So when Tomura didn’t want Hawks to stay, I went with Hawks. I figured that’s where I was needed most, and Shigaraki never really liked me as much as I liked him anyway,” he explained.

Geten stopped as they got to the hospital and listened to the long complex explanation. “Jesus…I thought you said it was fun? That all sounds frustrating,” he said confused. He didn’t see the part that was so fun about sex if all that came with it. It seemed like staying with one partner was the best option. “Well…I think you made the right choice if that counts for anything,” he offered. He might not even be the dad and Hawks seems to rely on him heavily.

Dabi sighed, running his hands through his hair. “No, it is fun, trust me. I’m just a dumbass. And yeah, thanks. Hawks is really great and I’m lucky to have him, even if I miss Tomura and the rest of the pack,” he admitted. “Anyway, let’s get me checked in,” he sighed. “And remind me to ask you about banks and birth certificates and shit when I’m done,” he added.

Geten smiled slightly when he insisted it was fun. Must be really fun if he was willing to deal with all of that for it. “Yeah let’s get you inside. Want me to wait in the waiting room again?” He asked as they headed up to the right floor. He didn’t know what information would be shared and if it was private. “Oh? Okay yeah,” he agreed, not sure what he could help with both but he would find out and try.

Dabi gave Geten a thumbs up, heading to the sign in desk after they left the elevator. “You may as well wait, yeah. I don’t think it’ll be too long but who fucking knows,” he called back to Geten.

Geten nodded to him as he watched the alpha sign in. “Alright. I’ll be here,” he assured his cousin as he went to the couch and sat down to wait for him to finish his appointment. Who knows all the things wrong with guy with burns like that or what they could do to help.

Dabi waited for the doctor nervously, thrumming his fingers against the stupid table. What if that creep working for All for One had been right and he was basically a dead man walking? How was he supposed to tell Hawks? Everything felt too close and too sharp, like the walls were closing in. Breathing hard, he kept tapping his fingers, wishing the stupid doctor would hurry.

Geten watched Dabi curiously when he seemed stressed out. He had a good reason to be. Hopefully the doctor wouldn’t give him much bad news. He saw a nurse step out before waving him over to go to a room. This was a different floor so he figured it would be a different doctor as well.

Dabi entered the room, nervously sitting on the table. He should have brought Hawks. His nerves were almost as bad as when Hawks had his first blood pressure issue. What was he going to do if his health was super poor? Swinging his legs, he tried to keep from lighting his quirk and playing with it, figuring that was probably a bad look.

After a lot of bloodwork, tests, and questions, Dabi was left feeling pretty lost. The news could have been a lot worse, but it also could have been a lot better, and there were still test results that would take longer to come. He sulked out into the lobby where Geten was still waiting, unhappily making a follow-up for a couple weeks away.

“Let’s get out of here,” he mumbled to Geten, clearly unhappy.

Geten looked up at Dabi seeing him come out before standing up. “Didn’t go well?” He asked concerned as he went to the arson and headed for the doors so they could head back. It didn’t seem like the result was something he wanted but honestly Geten didn’t think they were going to be very good with his condition.

Dabi shrugged, scowling at the hospital floors. “It wasn’t great, no,” he muttered, trying not to cry. Geten would probably just freak out if he started having bloody eyes and shit in the elevator. He jammed his finger into the call button, sighing. “Before I get fully freaked out, I’m legally dead and Hawks has never had like a birth certificate or anything, so we don’t have like. Documents or anything to open a bank account or for me to apply to jobs with,” he said, rubbing his eyes as they stepped into the elevator. Even if he was upset, he’d promised Hawks he would deal with this.

Geten frowned hearing Dabi when he seemed pretty upset about the whole situation. He wondered what happened but didn’t feel like it was his place to ask if Dabi wasn’t giving away the information. The villain hummed softly. “Yeah we could probably get you something for that. We can just vouch for you if it’s just a job you need it for and we can set you up with a bank account with our business. Like an employee account,” he explained as they stepped into the elevator with him and headed down. “I’m sure we can set up something more formal if you want though. You’ll need to pick names,” the omega explained to his cousin.

Dabi nodded, a little relieved that at least he and Hawks could get something set up. “Thanks,” he said, sounding a little flat. “Seriously, I appreciate it. I just want to keep my family safe, you know, and I couldn’t do it without you guys right now,” he admitted, trying to make up for how flat he felt right now. “If something happened to me, you guys would still keep Hawks around and make sure he and Hiroto are safe, right? He’s killed like a bunch of people and he’s a total badass, so I’m sure he’d do whatever you guys needed him, I just want to make sure he has people he can fall back on other than me.”

Geten nodded. “We will need Skeptic to get it set up, his good with that stuff. We can get a meeting with him set up. Curious also is bugging me to have a interview with you two, so we need to plan,” the ice user explained tiredly, they had a lot to do and of course they would have to meet with Re-Destro once they get more settled. Geten looked at Dabi hearing him. “Of course. His one of us now. Plus, we mostly wanted him. You were a bonus,” the ice user pointed out. Having the number two hero with them was a much bigger statement than an old league member.

Dabi huffed, crossing his arms. “I’m the son of the number one hero with a ton of dirt on him and I’m a pretty capable villain myself. You guys are lucky to have me,” he sulked.

Geten laughed softly when his cousin seemed to sulk over his comment as they left the hospital and started to walk back towards the complex. “Yeah sure, but we also have a good amount of dirt on him. Thanks to you sure and you being with us will make things much more convincing, but Hawks is the number two hero and Endeavors supposed mate. Him leaving is pure proof hero society is corrupt, not just a single hero,” the omega reasoned.

Dabi rolled his eyes. This was just great. His health fucking sucked and no one took him seriously as a villain. Kicking and stomping as they walked, he blinked back his bloody tears. “Whatever. You guys have no fucking clue what me and my quirk is capable of and I’m sick of everyone underestimating me,” he muttered.

Geten sighed deeply. “Don’t take it like that. I didn’t say we didn’t want you. We want you here, and we happy to have you and know your gonna do great. But be reasonable. You still have ties to the league and they are our rivals. It would be harder to believe you were serious about this without your mate,” the omega pointed out.

Dabi scoffed, crossing his arms. “Tomura’s tried to kill Hawks and my little brother, accused me of selling them out to the heroes, and completely shut me out. What fucking ties do I have? I care about them? I guess I still talk to Giran, but he has like a ton of other clients. Newsflash, I cared about my family too, and I was still gonna murder my dad and Shoto,” he grumbled.

Geten hummed softly. “You say that. But I’m sure If our two sides opposed each other, you wouldn’t know where to stand, and that’s dangerous,” the ice user reasoned. “We have more faith that you’ll chose us with your family here,” the villain added.

Dabi rolled his eyes again, hurt on top of his frustrations with his health. “You’re my family too, numbskull. God, I can’t do right by fucking anybody, can I?” he scoffed, picking up the pace a little bit. He just wanted to go home.

Geten hummed softly. “You’re taking this unexpectedly harsh. It’s wasn’t an insult. Why are you so insecure our main goal was Hawks?” He asked confused. He should be proud.

Dabi shrugged, blinking back tears. “Because everything at the hospital sucks and I haven’t gotten one thing right in my life and so it’d be nice if I could at least be good enough at the villain thing for that to matter. I’m not good enough for Hawks to want to be bonded. My quirk being strong doesn’t matter since it’s fucking killing me. I can’t even be the one to physically kill my dad or my siblings will never forgive me. I’m bad at being an alpha. I could at least be a respectable villain,” he complained, shoving his hands in his pockets and scowling.

Geten listened to Dabi rant about his life. He felt kind of bad for the guy, but he needed to pull himself together and be presentable. “Would you relax? You’re over thinking things. You have gotten lots of things right and what you claim you haven’t, isn’t even your own fault,” He reasoned with the alpha. “You’re a good asset, that’s why you’re here. You just weren’t a perfect fit for us at the time and you know it,” the omega added as he touched Dabis shoulder. “You’re doing fine. Hawks is happy enough with you and we are glad you are here,” he assured his cousin.

Dabi winced at the touch before relaxing. “Hawks’ life was miserable before me, and I’m not sure it’s much better now except for the fact he’s not like a slave anymore or whatever. If anyone else had just treated him like a fucking human being before I did he wouldn’t have ever been into me,” he admitted, swallowing hard. “And now my health… it just sucks, okay? It all sucks.”

Geten watched Dabi as he talked about his mate. A slave? He thought surprised, Curious is gonna go crazy for their story. “I don’t think it was that easy. He wasn’t desperate for a mate or anything.” The omega said unsure, he didn’t think Hawks just jumped him because he was nice. “We will figure your health out. There has to be something right? Or some quirk that can help?” He asked. There was so many quirks, someone had to help.

Dabi shrugged. “Yeah, I mean, there’s probably a quirk, but barring that… the doctors seemed genuinely surprised I’m still alive, much less mostly functional which is fair, I guess. I’d just hoped that little creep doctor that worked for All for One or whatever was lying,” he admitted, sounding hollow. “I mean I guess it’s good, right? That I didn’t claim him. Losing his alpha would suck.”

Geten frowned hearing Dabi. “Hey, you seem fine to me. They say you shouldnt be alive but you are. That means you have time. You’re already doing the impossible so that gives you the opportunity to continue doing it and live on. Don’t just give up. You haven’t before,” he tried to encourage his cousin.

Dabi smiled weakly at Geten as his cousin tried to comfort him. “Yeah, I guess so. I want to be there for Hiroto and Hawks,” he said determinedly, his mood improving a little bit. “Thanks, Geten.”

Geten patted Dabis back gently when he seemed to lighten up some. “Yeah of course,” he told the alpha as he let his arm drop back to his side. “You’ll be there then you just got to keep going,” he reassured as they walked. He liked his cousin well enough and didn’t want him to die when they just started talking.

Dabi laughed softly and shook his head. “You’re weirdly optimistic for being a villain,” he said, feeling fond of his cousin. He’d probably get along pretty well with Spinner too, as a friend, if you could ignore his stupid ass morals and dumb fixation on fucking Stain. He was definitely sure that Compress and Geten would hit it off, and he trusted the thief a lot more with his cousin than a fucking cult leader.

Geten snorted as he rolled his eyes slightly. “Just because they say we are villains doesn’t make me one. I want a better world just like everyone else, I’m just willing to do the dirty work to get us there,” the omega insisted. “We’re more like a rebellion then villain anyways,” he reasoned with a slight shrug. He didn’t care they called them villains but he didn’t really see himself as one.

Dabi nodded. He agreed with the sentiment. He barely considered the League villains, he just liked being the opposite of what his dad was. “I get that. I just like being something other than a hero,” he admitted.

Geten laughed slightly hearing Dabi. “Gonna be pretty ironic when the history books say we are the hero’s after all this,” he said in a brighter tone as a grin creeped into his face. He would be remembered as one of the people that saved society and brought about a better world.

Dabi elbowed Geten, a genuine smile brightening his face. “I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully we sell as many books as Destro,” he teased, gladdened as his apartment building came into view. Geten was great but he wanted some time with Hawks. “Thanks for coming with,” he said. “I really appreciate all the time we’ve had hanging out and stuff. I’ve been missing my siblings a lot.”

Geten grinned slightly at Dabi when he seemed to share his joy for the sentiment. He wanted to be remembered well. “Who knows. Maybe,” he said amused as they walked to the complex. “Yeah it’s been nice…I’m still open to train with you when you figure your health out. There is a whole training ground below the building,” he told his cousin, he wouldn’t mind having a new challenger to spare against.

Dabi nodded, giving Geten a thumbs up. “Yeah, I mean even if I don’t, I really wanna see how we match up,” he said. He was entirely sure he could kick Geten’s ass, but it would probably be hard as fuck. “Let me know about the interview and the account the jobs and shit, okay?” he requested.

Geten walked Dabi to the elevators, glad Dabi wanted to give it a go and train with him. He was confident in his skills but fire would always be weak spot for him. “I will message you when I hear anyways.” He assured his cousin. “Good luck with your health. If the MLA can help with anything let me know,” he added.

Dabi gave his cousin a quick nod, grateful that despite all the stupid cult shit Geten was a pretty decent dude. “Will do,” he agreed. “Seriously though, let me know as soon as the bank thing is figured out because right now Hawks doesn’t have service on his phone, only internet, and that makes me pretty nervous with the pup and everything,” he admitted. He really hoped Hawks had been okay all morning. “I’ll talk to you later,” he assured his cousin before heading to his front door, dreading this conversation with Hawks.

Geten hummed softly. “Of course. Skeptic is clever,” he assured his cousin before giving him a wave. “Later,” he told the alpha before heading back down. He had a few things to talk to Re-Destro and the others about now.

Dabi entered the apartment slowly, already nervous about making Hawks cry. He really, really didn’t want to see that, it always hurt so much, but he couldn’t exactly lie to the guy he was having a kid with about his health. “Birdie?” he called, opening the front door. “Where you at?”

Hawks sat on the bed as he continued to try and make the plushie he had been working on. It was pretty tricky and going to take a while. He had two of their shirt he was using for extra pieces. The blonde looked up hearing Dabi as he perked up. “I’m here babe,” he greeted as he got up, abandoning his work as he headed to the living room to welcome his mate home. “How did it go?” He asked as he hugged the arson happily.

Dabi winced as Hawks embraced him joyfully. The blond looked so psyched to just see him, and now he was gonna have to give the omega shitty news. “Not great,” he admitted, leaning down and preemptively scenting the omega. “Can we sit down? We need to talk about it,” he admitted, sounding just as nervous and sad as he felt.

Hawks hummed happily as he was scented before returning the favor as he pressed against Dabi. The omega frowned hearing his mate as he pulled back slightly to give him a concerned look. “Damn… yeah let’s sit..” he said worried as he took the arsons hand and pulled him over to the couch and sat down. He wasn’t sure he was ready for whatever Dabi was going to tell him.

Dabi relaxed slightly as Hawks scented him, always comforted when he felt like the omega wanted him back, but the sad look on the blonde’s face as they moved to the sofa sent him spiraling right back again. “So, uh, I guess it’s pretty bad? And the work that weirdo did on me is just as extensive inside as out. Like, apparently, these aren’t even my lungs. They replaced them when I was in the coma I guess, smoke inhalation or whatever. But everything else is mine and it’s… cooked, I guess? Like it doesn’t help that I’ve used my quirk so much, but the majority of the internal damage is all from that day on the peak,” he explained. “They did like a bunch of bloodwork and x-rays and shit and asked me a bunch of questions, and then they called in this other doctor before just fully admitting they have no idea how I’m even alive, much less functional.”

Hawks watched Dabi, giving him his full attention as he started to talk about what they said. His heart dropped immediately when he said it was pretty bad. He should have went with him…he wouldn’t have let him hear bad news alone. His grip on Dabi’s hand tightened slightly as he was given all the news. “But…but that doesn’t make sense…because you are alive and functioning. There has to be some explanation. They can’t just say they don’t know,” the omega protested, upset the doctors just seemed to have given up from his point of view. “They need to get someone who knows what the hell they are talking about to look at you,” he added, getting more worked up as he thought about it.

Dabi shushed the blond, rubbing the small of his back and squeezed his mate’s hand. “Birdie, hey, they seem to know what they’re talking about. They’ve got a bunch of tests they’re still looking at and shit, but it seems like maybe they used a quirk or something? And clearly I’m just determined not to die, which they said is pretty helpful. But yeah, they’re mostly not sure how to help short of a pretty serious healing quirk? Something like Eri’s would be good,” he said with a sigh, hating that they’d basically never be able to get her help.

Hawks tried to relax as Dabi comforted him. He was upset and…scared. He wasn’t sure what this meant or what they could do. The omega gripped Dabis arms to steady himself and he sighed deeply. “So what do we do…are they going to get a healer?” He asked softly. He wasn’t sure Eri would be available and even if she was, if she could even control her quirk. He still wasn’t sure the specifics of her powers.

Dabi shrugged, kissing Hawks on the forehead. “They’re gonna look for a healer, yeah, but I require a lot of healing. We just keep living, and if I get sick or anything we go to the hospital. And I’m not supposed to do my own staples and shit. They said that was really stupid and I should have quit using my quirk when my new skin started to reject. They said the new jaw looks fine though, no problems there,” he said, trying to look for the positives in a shitty situation.

Hawks gave Dabi more of a worried look when he was kissed on the head, his anger starting to melt into worry. “So that’s just it…we wait?” He asked softly. How could he wait when Dabi could..die? He wasn’t sure how to move forward, just keep doing what they had been? That was a lot to deal with without many answers. He was hoping for something more.

Dabi nodded, giving Hawks a sad smile. He nuzzled his nose into the blonde’s, trying not to cry. His omega needed him to be strong. “Something like that, yeah. There’s not a lot we can do but wait. Even something like that old lady at Shoto’s school has can only heal stuff, not reverse the damage. Maybe they’ll find something, maybe not, but either way I’m gonna do everything I can to be here for as long as I can, okay? I’m not leaving either of you,” he promised.

Hawks listened to Dabi before closing his eyes slightly when his nose was nuzzled. He was trying not to cry. It was a scary thought, Dabi dying like this. If anything he figured it would be in a fight and Hawks could potentially save him, but how could he protect him against his own body? “You better..” he whispered as he pulled the villain into a tight hug, pressing his face against the alphas neck. “I don’t know what I would do without you…” he admitted as he gripped Dabi tighter.

Dabi squeezed Hawks tightly, pulling the omega on top of himself and flopping back onto the sofa. “You’d get by,” he promised, not doubting it for a second. Hawks was stronger than anyone he knew. “You’re gonna be okay no matter what. And even if something happens to me, you’ve got Hiroto,” he tried to reassure the blond.

Hawks whimpered hearing Dabi as he was pulled on top of the alpha. He felt a few tears roll down his cheeks as he kept his face hidden. “He needs you to…I don’t know if I can do this alone…a-and he needs siblings. We’re gonna have more pups. I need you here,” he told the alpha, almost bargaining for him to stay longer.

Dabi nuzzled into Hawks, hating the tears he heard in the blonde’s voice. The fear of this had been why it was so easy to walk away from his family and dedicate himself to killing his dad without making any friends or connections. “I’m gonna be here as long as I can, birdie, I promise, but we need to be realistic too,” he said gently. “You can do anything, with or without me,” he praised.

Hawks whimpered louder hearing Dabi. It felt like he had already accepted he was going to die and Hawks just couldn’t. He didn’t want to be here without Dabi, not now, not that he was finally happy and free. “I am being realistic. I won’t lose you like that. We’re gonna figure something out,” he assured the arson in a stern, determined tone. He had to.

Dabi laughed when Hawks got stern with him, eyes watering. His chest ached hearing the omega. “You sounded just like a mom right now,” he told the blond, voice breaking under his sadness. What if he wasn’t here to see Hawks be the kickass oma he knew his mate would be? “I love you so much. I’m sorry for being such a fucking mess.”

Hawks couldn’t help but laugh back softly hearing Dabi as he nuzzled closer to him. “I love you too…so much,” he told the villain as he sniffed softly. “Be as messy as you want, as long as you are here I don’t care…” he whispered to his mate softly. “We’re gonna find someone, even if we have to get that quirk specialist our self,” he told the alpha.

Dabi snorted, petting Hawks’ back. “You’re so fucking soft for a bird of prey,” he teased. “How’ve my boys been today? He give you any trouble?” he asked, wanting to change the subject. “How’s the plushie going?”

Hawks snorted softly hearing the alpha. “Just for you,” he told the arson gently as he pet his mates head. “We have been good. Easy going today,” he told him as he rolled onto his side gently and rubbed his stomach. “The plushie is..coming along. Little harder than I thought. But I am managing,” he said in a lighter tone.

Dabi snorted, reaching down to rub Hawks’ belly at the same time as Hawks. Hiroto needed him too, so he had to do whatever he could to heal. “You’ve got this, oma,” he encouraged. “Just think how cute he’s gonna look in the hospital cuddling his dolls. I talked to Geten about getting us a bank account and documents and whatever and they can do pretty much all of it, so he’s gonna get that ball rolling. You know he wants to fuck that old cult dude?” he asked, still kind of amazed by that.

Hawks felt Dabi rub his stomach as he sighed softly. He did..but only with Dabis help. Could he do it by himself? Grieving while trying to raise a pup? He wasn’t sure he was that strong. “His gonna be adorable…” he said lovingly as he pet the alphas head. “Really? That’s great…wonder if they could hack my bank account,” he teased softly. It would be great to get all his money out his account.

Dabi leaned into the touch, relaxing fully for the first time all day. Resting there with his omega felt peaceful and safe. He had to get through this for Hawks’ sake. “Probably. Sounds like they have some freaky computer guys,” he said appreciatively. “Seriously though, you don’t think he’d go for Geten, do you? I don’t like him very much,” he admitted.

Hawks hummed softly as he got into a more comfortable position on his side, half laying against Dabi. “They must if they got so much information on us,” he reasoned before groaning as he stretched out. “I don’t know. Geten is really pretty. If the guy wanted him I don’t see why they’re not together if he likes him,” the blonde said. “A little hard to see what Geten likes in the guy. But then again his obsessed with the cult so that could be it,” he said, it was hard to wrap his head around. He definitely had no interest in the big guy.

Dabi grunted, wrapping his arms loosely around Hawks’ hips. It felt nice to be snuggled up to the omega. “Yeah, I don’t think Geten’s had a lot of life experience outside of my mom’s shitty family and this fucking cult. You know they were gonna sell him off like they did my mom?” he said, sighing. “I think he likes that the guy took care of him and doesn’t look down on him and shit. I mean he probably likes that he’s older and fancy and stuff too. Geten seems like he’d like fancy stuff, look at his hair,” he said.

Hawks hummed softly hearing Dabi as he laid his head on the villains shoulder and rubbed his chest gently. He wanted to continue to sooth Dabi after his hard day. “Yeah that’s pretty common for omegas unfortunately…” he responded in a somber tone. Even with it mostly being looked down on, it wasn’t illegal unfortunately. “Probably. He seems pretty young too so it’s probably the most affection his had from an alpha even if it’s not necessarily romantic,” the blonde agreed. “The Himura family seems to like fancy things without the money to fund it anymore, probably why they have to sell off their kids,” Hawks pointed out. Rei was kind of like that too, they seemed to have been raised high class even if the family wasn’t well off anymore.

Dabi laughed softly, closing his eyes and focusing on his mate’s scent. Hawks’ scent had changed slightly during the pregnancy, and it also seemed a little smokier after they were in a lot of physical contact. He liked knowing other alphas could smell him on his mate even if he wasn’t claimed. “I’m glad you like normal shit like fried chicken even if you were rich as shit,” he praised. “I’m sorry I wasn’t nicer to you when we met. I mean, not that people should be nicer to omegas, just because like your life fucking sucked,” he said softly. “You shouldn’t have been forced to deal with us or any of the stuff they did or made you do. I’m glad you made us just hang out and have lunch. Even if it hadn’t led to this, it was the most normal day either of us got to have, and I’m glad we shared it together.”

Hawks smiled up at his mate warmly hearing him. He said the nicest things sometimes…”It’s fine babe. I didn’t expect anything different. Not like I was really there for the right reasons…you had every right to be on guard,” he assured Dabi gently. “I’m just happy with where I am now…without all that I don’t know where I would be. I might not have all this,” he pointed out. “That was a great day though…my best day,” he cooed to his mate happily as he nuzzled against his warm chest and closed his eyes.

Dabi hummed, kissing Hawks wherever he could reach. “Our best day,” he said confidently, taking a deep breath in and then sighing. “I’m pretty lucky no one else was courting you,” he teased. “And that I knocked you up so easily. Why do you make taking naps so fucking easy? I swear I never took naps and now you snuggle me and I’m out like a light.”

Hawks relaxed under Dabi soft kissed as he hugged the alpha around his chest. “Yeah could have been a mess…I can’t believe I got pregnant so fast and on my first try. So embarrassing,” he whined softly before yawning softly. “Mm I don’t know. Just feels good. You’re so warm and cozy and my energy levels are being zapped by your son,” he teased softly.

Dabi snickered, kissing Hawks on the jaw a few times. He couldn’t help but be affectionate when it made them both feel better. “So he’s my son when he’s naughty, huh?” he laughed. “God, I can’t believe there was a time I didn’t want kids. He’s already the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Hawks laughed softly hearing Dabi. “His your son when he acts like you,” he teased back before pecking the arsons lips softly. “Same…I never expected to have them and now…I know I would if regretted it. I’m glad I got the chance.” He said happily. With how much he wanted to little guy from the moment he found out he was pregnant, he knew deep down he always wanted a baby.

Dabi snorted, glad Hawks was still so good at teasing him. “You’re the cutest mom in the whole world,” he cooed. “Thank god we were too horny to wait,” he yawned.

Hawks smirked up at Dabi slightly. “I better be. Don’t need you looking at other moms.” He teased with an amused look. The hero laughed again. “Yeah really. Though I would have liked to have waited a bit. Everything is turning out just fine,” he said softly. They just had to get through all this. “Let’s take a nap then…I’m a little sleepy.” He mumbled softly as he held onto the alpha. This was a good set up for them, things were going well. They just had to keep things this good and hope nothing came to ruin their peace again.
