Chapter Text

April - Two Months Ago

Millie paced around her bedroom, wondering when was the best time to tell Moxxie and Booker. While Blitzo convinced to go ahead and tell Moxxie, she then realized that she had absolutely no idea on how to tell Booker. However, she ultimately decided to tell Moxxie first.

Right now, she just kept pacing around her room as she waited for Moxxie and Booker to arrive him, Moxxie having driven to Booker's school to pick him up. Eventually, she grew tired of pacing and just lied down on the bed for a while.

Eventually, she heard the car pull up outside. Millie took a deep breath as she listened to the car stop, followed by two car doors opening and closing soon after, which was then followed by the front door opening and closing. Millie got up from the bed and left the bedroom.

She walked over to the living room, where Moxxie was heading to his computer to start working while Booker was removing his backpack.

"Hey, Booker," Millie said with a smile.

"Hi, mama!" Booker said as he ran up to Millie and gave her a hug.

"How was school?"

"Good."

"Ok, that's good," Millie said as she leaned down towards Booker as her voice took a hushed tone, "Hey, how bout you go to your room for a bit? I need to talk to your daddy about something."

Booker nodded as he ran to his room, leaving just Millie and Moxxie.

Millie looked over at Moxxie, who started working on an assignment.

"Hey, Mox?" Millie asked, "Can I talk to you about something?"

Moxxie looked from his computer to Millie, "Uh, yeah, of course. What is it?"

"I need to tell you something really important."

"Is everything ok?"

"Yeah, everything's fine, it's just.." Millie's voice trailed off.

Moxxie got up from his desk and walked over to Millie, "Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong. I'm just still trying to figure out how to say it."

"Say what?"

Millie stared at Moxxie for a few seconds until eventually, she decided "Ok, screw it."

She sighed, "So, I've been feeling off lately. You know, right?"

"Well, yeah. Why?" Moxxie asked.

Millie didn't say anything. She simply grabbed Moxxie's hand and placed it on her stomach. Unlike the last time, it didn't take Moxxie long to figure it out.

"Are.. are you sure?" Moxxie asked.

"Took a test while you were gone," Millie said, "It was positive."

"Ok.. is.. this a problem?"

"I.. I don't think it is.."

"Ok.. well, me neither," Moxxie said with a smile.

Millie smiled as Moxxie gave her a hug.

June - Two Months Later: Present

Rita walked out of the cabin. She looked around, but Blitzo was nowhere to be seen. She looked everywhere. The back of the cabin, the sides, and in and around Spindle's stable, but Blitzo was gone. Judging by the fact that Spindle was in her stable and his truck was here, it seemed that Blitzo was on foot.

So, Rita took Spindle out of her stable. She led her to the gate and brought her to the other side before hopping on her, turning her to the right and giving her the command to run. Rita rarely rode Spindle, but Blitzo gave her lessons just in case.

After a few minutes, Rita eventually spotted Blitzo walking down the right straight ahead. Spindle continued to run for a while longer until Rita had her slow down when they got behind Blitzo.

"Going somewhere?" Rita asked as Spindle kept walking after Blitzo.

"Just blowing off steam," Blitzo said as he kept walking as well, not bothering to turn around to look at the former teacher riding his horse, "I told Via and Tex to tell you."

"They told me, but I figured I should check on you."

"Thanks. I'm fine."

Rita shook her head, "Babe, I already know you by now. I know when you're not fine."

Blitzo didn't respond. Rita sigh.

"Could you just stop and look at me?" Rita asked.

Blitzo did stop, which caused Spindle to stop as well. He turned around to see Rita staring at him for a moment before she got off of Spindle and walked over to him.

"Ok, what happened?" Rita said.

Blitzo groaned as he rubbed his eyes with his fingers, "That fucking clown knew about Thomas."

"Really?"

"He basically said it."

Rita stared at Blitzo for a moment longer before getting closer and giving him a hug.

"So, that's why you attacked him?" Rita asked as she let go of her boyfriend.

"Yeah," Blitzo said, "He deserved it, though."

"I understand you feel that way, but what happened to this whole 'keeping the peace' thing you told me about."

"Hey, he started it. He wanted to disrespect me in my own house. I don't what the hell he expected."

"I understand being angry," Rita said, "But still. You're right about this whole 'keeping the peace' thing. Even if it was about him and Victoria, it should count between you and your friend."

"He's not my friend. You know that," Blitzo said.

Rita nodded slightly.

"Yeah, I do. Sorry I said that," Rita said, "Look, how about we go back to the cabin and talk things over."

"I'm not going back. Not right now."

Rita stared at Blitzo once again. She sighed before going over to Spindle and getting on her. Blitzo followed suit, getting on Spindle as well while also getting in front of Rita in the process. When he did, Rita wrapped her arms around Blitzo. Without saying a word to Rita, Blitzo gave Spindle the command to start walking. As Spindle walked, no words were exchanged between the imp/sinner couple.

Barbie walked into the kitchen with two bandages where Fizz was sitting at the dining table.

By then, Fizz was able to stop the bleeding coming from his nose and lip. The only concern was the cut on the back of his head stemming from when he hit the floor and the cut on his nose stemming from when Blitzo punched him.

After putting the bandage on the back of his cut, Barbie gave the other bandage to Fizz, who placed it on his nose.

"You ok?" Barbie asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Fizz said as he got up and threw the bloodied paper towels he used to stop the bleeding in the trash, "Jesus, all I did was give an opinion."

"Yeah, and then you started arguing with him and then dropped that bombshell."

Fizz didn't say anything. He simply looked away and sighed.

"So, is it true?" Barbie asked, "Did you know?"

"Yeah.." Fizz said, "When I met Verosika, she had already given birth to him."

"Did you recognize him when you saw him?"

"Not at first, but he did look familiar."

"I see," Barbie said.

"Well.. what about you?" Fizz asked, "Verosika told me that you guys spent some time in rehab together. Did she tell you about it?"

"I mean, she did, but she was drunk when she told me, so I didn't really know if she was really drunk or just bullshitting me."

"Oh.."

"Hey, do you know why she gave up Thomas?" Barbie asked.

"I have a feeling I know why," Fizz replied.

"Well, why then?"

"Cuz she was constantly getting drunk while she was raising him."

"You think someone called child services on her or something?" Barbie asked.

"I don't know," Fizz said, "All I know was that he wasn't with her anymore a few months after I met her."

Barbie nodded a bit before sighing.

"Look, I appreciate your concern about me probably meeting up with a killer, but I'll be fine. I can take care of myself," Barbie said, "Besides, I'm gonna have Victoria with me, so if they do try anything, Victoria will just shut that shit down."

Fizz looked at Barbie for a bit before looking away again, "Ok."

"In the meantime, just sit here and rest up. His girlfriend's probably caught up with him by now. so by the time they get back, he probably will have calmed down.

With that Barbie left he kitchen, leaving Fizz by himself to sit there and think.

Once Detective Naylor returned to his motel room, the first thing he did was go to sleep. After all, he was up for several hours.

Once he woke up, he went straight to work investigating the Wire twins, more specifically, "Brandon."

Now, Detective Naylor knew that "Brandon" was obviously not the White Rabbit. After all, by the time the fire department was called to put out the fire in the grocery store where the latest victim was found, "Brandon" was standing right in front of Detective Naylor.

Now even though "Brandon" wasn't the White Rabbit, Detective Naylor was still incredibly suspicious of him.

After all, Detective Naylor was right about one thing.

When he first check records about Barbie, there was no mention of two brothers. Only one brother, named Blitzo, who died back in 2023.

But after seeing "Brandon", Detective Naylor could help but wonder..

What if Blitzo was "Brandon"?

While it seemed like the plot of some sort of crime novel or something, Detective Naylor still thought about it.

But even if it's true, why the hell would he even fake his own death?

Was he running from something?

But what exactly?

Now while he was extremely curious, Detective Naylor knew this had to be a second priority. After all, there was a serial killer still running around.

However, this whole thing still gave Detective Naylor something to ask Barbie and "Brandon" later.

By the time they got back, it was pretty late, so the two went straight to bed.

When morning came, Rita woke up first. She looked at Blitzo, who was sound asleep. She then looked at her phone. As it turned out, she woke up pretty late as it was already well into the afternoon. After getting dressed, Rita decided to leave Blitzo alone for a bit and went over to the guest room where Loona was staying in. There, Rita was found on her bed using her phone while Tilla was sitting beside her playing with a toy.

"Hey," Rita said.

"Hey," Loona said back, not looking away from her phone.

Rita walked over to the bed and got on it.

"Scoot," Rita said. Loona did so, allowing Rita to lie beside Loona, "What are you up to?"

"Nothing really," Loona said as Tilla began leaning on her. Loona put her phone down and had Tilla rest on her chest.

Rita smiled.

"Looks like she's tired," Rita said.

"Feels like it," Loona said with a smile, "Hey, so, have you thought about.. you know.. the proposal?"

"Yeah, I have. Why?"

"No reason. Just wondering if you made up your mind or something. I'm not trying to be like dad and keep questioning you or anything. I'm just curious."

"Well, I'm still thinking over it, so no, I haven't made up my mind yet," Rita said as she lifted her hand up to look at the engagement ring Blitzo gave her. Loona looked at it as well before grabbing Rita's hand and pulling it toward her to get a closer look at the ring.

"Looks good on you," Loona said as she stared at the ring.

Rita stared at Loona for a moment before sighing.

"Hey, I have a question," Rita said as Loona looked at her, "If I do marry your dad, how would you feel about it?"

"I wouldn't mind," Loona said, "I mean, I was happy that he moved on from what happened with Stolas.. and even more so when I saw him proposing.. so, yeah. I wouldn't mind if you guys got married. Besides, I've been calling you mama for like months now, so that should tell you I would be more than ok if you guys got married."

Rita nodded a bit before looking away.

"I think I still need to think about it," Rita said.

"That's fine," Loona said, "Don't rush your decision, ok?"

"Don't worry. I won't."

The two were silent for a long time after that.

Rita wasn't lying. She was still thinking over it. After all, she was still troubled over the idea of marriage after her last one.

But, she will admit. As the days passed on, the idea of marrying Blitzo grew more appealing.

Once Blitzo woke up, he decided to go outside to have a smoke break.

After getting dressed, Blitzo walked outside, sat down on the porch steps, and pulled out a cigarette. Quickly lighting it, he started smoking for a while before the door opened behind him. He turned around but then looked away when he saw Barbie with Fizz behind her.

"Blitzo," Barbie said, "Fizz has something he wants to say."

Blitzo didn't bother turning around, especially for Fizz, who looked at Barbie, who gave him look that said "Just say it." Fizz sighed.

"I'm sorry for disrespecting you in your home.." Fizz said, though his tone made it clear he didn't mean it.

Blitzo simply scoffed. Barbie got in between the two.

“Ok, look,” Barbie began, “I know you two hate each other and Blitzo, I know you really don’t wanna help Fizz anymore, but I am really hoping that you do because I'm not asking, I'm begging you. Besides, weren't you the one going on about 'keeping the peace'? Well, you were right. We have to keep the peace. At least until this whole thing is over. Afterwards, if you don't want to you'll never have to see him again."

Barbie looked at Fizz next.

"And you," Barbie began again, "I know Blitzo has fucked up royally on more than one occasion, but he was still going out of his way to help you, even if he was doing it for me. Like I told you, I appreciate your concern, but Blitzo knows what he's doing. He knows I can take care of myself. Ain't that right, Blitzo?"

Barbie and Fizz looked at Blitzo. He didn't look at them, but he did nod slightly. Barbie sighed.

"We got too much going on right now," Barbie said to Fizz, "So this whole 'keeping the peace' thing is not just you and Victoria, it's you and Blitzo, understand?"

Fizz stared at her a bit, but he nodded. Barbie looked at Blitzo.

"Blitzo, you understand?" Barbie asked.

Blitzo nodded.

"Good," Barbie said just as her phone started to ring. She pulled it out of her pocket, and saw that it was an unknown number. She answered it anyway, putting the phone up to her ear, "Hello..? Oh, hi.. wait, how'd you get my number..?"

Blitzo and Fizz both looked at Barbie.

"Oh, makes sense," Barbie said to whoever was on the line, "Oh, um, well, he can't come with me. He's really busy.. oh.. um.. well.. maybe I can convince him to come.. ok.. I'll be there soon.. bye."

Barbie hung up the phone.

"Fuck.." Barbie simply said.

"Who was that?" Blitzo asked.

"The fucking detective," Barbie replied.

"What detective?" Fizz asked.

"There's a detective in town and he's investigating the White Rabbit case," Barbie said, "And unfortunately, he's seen Blitzo and now he wants me and him to meet him at a restaurant."

"Hold up, you and who now?" Blitzo asked as he got up.

"I tried telling him you were busy but he was all like 'oh, I'll just meet him later then,'" Barbie said.

"Shit," Blitzo said as he buried his face in his hand.

"What do you wanna do?" Barbie asked.

Blitzo let out a heavy sigh.

"Something I'm probably gonna regret."

Detective Naylor took a bite out of his burger as the twins walked into the restaurant. He noticed the two and waved them over. They walked over to them and joined him in the booth, sitting across from him.

"Thank you for meeting me you two," Detective Naylor said, "I really appreciate it."

"No problem on our part," "Brandon" said, "So, what's up?"

"Well, first, I want to question you guys about the White Rabbit."

Detective Naylor grabbed a folder that was sitting beside him and placed it on the table.

"Now, like I mentioned to Ms. Wire yesterday, I suspect the White Rabbit could've been someone you worked with in the circus," Detective Naylor said.

"Oh, actually, I didn't work at the circus," "Brandon" said.

Detective Naylor looked at him, "Really?"

"Um.. I guess we should tell you more about Brandon," Barbie said, "He wasn't actually raised with me and Blitzo."

Detective Naylor looked curious, "Really?"

"Yeah," "Brandon" said, "I was adopted."

Detective Naylor stared at "Brandon" as he continued.

"So, my mama gave me up when I was born," "Brandon" said, "When we were born, our family was really poor. Well, except for our daddy, but he was a cheap bastard. He didn't even want us in the first place. So, my mama knew he was never gonna help with us.. and she couldn't provide for the three of us.. so.. she.. made a difficult choice.."

"Brandon" seemed like he couldn't go on, so Barbie continued for him.

"She decided to give one of us up," Barbie said, "And unfortunately for Brandon, my mama chose him. She really didn't want to, but she knew that he would have a chance of a better life if she did. I'm pretty sure that's why records say I only had one brother because my mama gave up Brandon the moment he was born."

"Hmm.. I see," Detective Naylor said, "Well, I'm really sorry to hear that."

"It's ok," Barbie said, "I mean, me and Brandon reunited a few months ago, though, of course, I wish Blitzo was there."

"Yeah, me too," "Brandon" said, "It would've been nice to meet him."

Detective Naylor nodded, "Well, I'm happy for you guys."

"Brandon" and Barbie smiled and nodded at the detective, praying that he bought their story and wouldn't question it further.

"Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to get to the matter that I invited you two for," Detective Naylor said as he opened the folder and pulled out a few pictures, "Like I said, I think the White Rabbit worked at the circus Ms. Wire worked at."

Detective Naylor placed the photos on the table.

"You recognize any of these people, Ms. Wire?" Detective Naylor asked.

The twins looked at the photos. They were photos of the suspects Barbie was gonna meet soon.

"Uh, yeah, I worked with these guys," Barbie said.

"Did any of them ever show any violent tendencies?" Detective Naylor asked.

"No. They were all really nice guys."

"None of them were ever of concern?"

"Nope," Barbie said.

"So, in your opinion, who do you think would be likely be a killer?" Detective Naylor asked.

"Honestly, none of them. Everyone I worked with was really nice. It would be a surprise if they turned out bad."

"Have you spoken to any of them?"

"Oh, no. I haven't seen or heard from any of them in almost 30 years," Barbie said, "After the fire, I rarely kept tabs on anyone."

"I see," Detective Naylor said, "Well, I would ask if you have anything to do with the White Rabbit killings, but, of course, the serial killer's a male and I was talking to you when the latest victim was recovered, so I don't think it's necessary."

"Well, either way, I've got nothing to do with it."

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure you don't."

Detective Naylor grabbed the photos and placed them back in his folder, "Well, I do believe that's pretty much everything. Again, I appreciate you guys coming down to talk to me. Now, I do recommend you guys keep this conversation to yourselves and to not leave the area, especially since the White Rabbit's active."

"Yeah, don't have to tell me twice," Barbie said as she and "Brandon" got up to leave.

The twins shook the detective's hand and walked out of the restaurant as Detective Naylor stared at the two.

Or more accurately, stared at "Brandon".

Victoria was by herself by the time the afternoon came around. Barbie had left to try and settle things between Blitzo and Fizz earlier, so Victoria was by herself and, other than reading a book, doing nothing in particular in the mansion.

Admittedly, it was rather surreal to be back here. A lot of bad things happened here months ago after all.

Bad things that she caused. Bad things that she didn't want to think about.

However, it was also here that good people realized that she needed help. So, it did help a lot that she thought about that instead of the last time she was here when she shot the woman that ended up becoming her girlfriend.

Victoria that thought away as she continued reading her book when she heard a knock on the door. Assuming it was Barbie, Victoria placed her book down and got up from the couch. She walked over to the door, unlocked it, and opened the door.

To her surprise, it wasn't Barbie, but rather Octavia.

"Via.." Victoria simply said.

"Can I come in?" Octavia asked.

Victoria immediately moved out of the way so that Octavia could enter. When she did, Victoria shut the door behind her and then sat down on a nearby armchair as Octavia took the couch.

The two said nothing for a few moments.

"Um.. would you like something to eat?" Victoria asked.

"I'm not hungry," Octavia said. Victoria stared at Octavia for a bit before nodding slightly.

"Ok.. so.. what is it?"

"I just.. I feel like I need answers.. you know.. as to why you did what you did months ago.."

Victoria sighed, "Via, I.. I don't know if any answer I give will be satisfactory to you.."

"Can you at least try to explain?" Octavia asked.

"I don't know.. I mean.. when your father died, I felt.. I was so angry.. after all, he was so close to getting away from her."

"What do you mean?"

Victoria sighed, "I was always aware of what your mother would do to him. He would tell me everything she would do. Were you aware of that?"

"Actually, no," Octavia said, "I mean, I've only seen them argue and she would throw things around, but I wasn't aware that she would hit him until after he died."

"I see.. she was always like that. Me and her attended the same academy when we were children and she was the absolute worst. No surprise that I grew up not being a fan of her's."

"Yeah, that was something I was aware of. Almost every single time you two saw each other, it would be like 10 seconds before you two got in a fight."

"Yes and let it be known that I won every single one of them. She wasn't so strong as she said she was when I got involved in," Victoria said proudly as she remembered that one time she got Stella in a hold and got her to tap out.

"That's nice and all, but can we get back to what we were discussing?" Octavia asked, "What do you mean him almost getting away.

"Oh, right. Sorry. Anyway, since it seems Blitzo never explained to you. I will."

"What is it?"

"Well," Victoria began, "As soon as it was clear that your mother was doing bad things to your father, I formed a plan. Me and your father would wait until you turned 18 and when you did, he would divorce her and we would go into hiding."

"He planned to leave?"

"Yes, but make no mistake. He made it clear that he wanted to take you with him when he disappeared. He was worried that your mother might use you to lure him out. That was the plan, but when your father started his affair, it forced us to enact our plan much earlier. By the time he passed, he was already in the divorce proceedings with his wife and I was working on transport to secretly get us out of Pride."

"I see.." Octavia said.

Victoria sighed, "So.. when your father died.. I just lost it.. I knew she was involved in it. I wasn't dumb. And knowing that he was almost free and she got him killed, I was absolutely furious.. that was when I started to let my anger guide me instead of logic.. I felt as if everyone who hurt him needed to be punished. There was other ways to handle it, but.. I was blinded by anger.."

Victoria started to tear up.

"And you have no idea how much I regret it," Victoria said as tears rolled down her face, "This whole thing cost me my marriage.. cost me any type of relationship with my son.. and I suppose it also cost me my relationship with you.. I know I can't take it all back.. after all, what's done is done.. I mean, I know everyone seems calm around me, but.. I can't help but feel as if they still don't trust me.. even my girlfriend.. she says she trusts me, but.. there's still this feeling in the back of my head that maybe, just maybe.. she doesn't.. and I know you don't as well.. but I know I deserve that.."

Octavia stared at her aunt, who looked away from her.

She could tell the Victoria was genuinely sorry. After all, Octavia could tell that she didn't mean to hurt her.

Octavia sighed, "Look, Aunt Victoria.. what you did was.. it was not ok.. it was messed up.. on so many levels.. you didn't just hurt me, you hurt people that I care about.. I don't know if that's something I can forgive.."

"I'm not asking you to forgive me.. nor do I expect you too.." Victoria said, "I just want you to know that I am deeply sorry.. and if I have to spend the rest of eternity to prove it to you, then so be it.."

Octavia kept her gaze on Victoria.

"I.. I do appreciate that.." Octavia admitted, "Look.. I know I said that I don't know if I can forgive your actions.. but.. that doesn't mean I can't try.."

Victoria stared at Octavia for a moment before a slight smile formed on her face, "I.. I'd like that.."

Octavia nodded slightly. She sighed.

"You know.. I guess I am a bit hungry.." Octavia said.

Victoria beamed a bit, "In that case, let me make you something to eat."

Victoria got up from the armchair and made her way to the kitchen. Octavia couldn't help but smile over her aunt's excitement.

It was official. Moxxie was about to go insane.

For him, it was nonstop anger from Millie. No matter what he did or said, she would always find a reason to be pissed.

He couldn't take it anymore. He wanted his wife back. He didn't want this woman who was pissed with him 24/7. He knew it was because she was grieving. He understood that. But this was starting to become too much. For him, it was only a matter of time before he gets angry with her again.

And when that happens, there's no telling what Millie might do this time.

Moxxie sat at his computer. It was already dark outside. He had been trying to work all day, but honestly? How can he when all this was going down? He was stressed to hell. Far too stressed to be working.

Because of that, Moxxie finally gave up and shut his computer. He stood up and stretched his limbs for a bit before deciding to go to his room to lie down. Unfortunately for him, that was not gonna happen as Millie had returned home from wherever she went to.

"Where are you going?" Millie asked.

"I'm gonna rest," Moxxie simply said.

"But, I need to talk to you."

"Hun, can it wait for just a few minutes? Just a few minutes and then we can talk."

Moxxie started to walk away, only to stop when he heard Millie scoff. He winced and sighed before turning around.

“What?” Moxxie asked.

“Oh, no, nothing. You can go,” Millie said, clearly irritated as she walked over to the couch to sit down.

“Millie, I clearly made you angry, so how about you just get it out of your system already.”

“Angry? No. I’m not angry. Not at all.”

Moxxie walked up to Millie as she sat on the couch, with a clearly pissed off look on her face as she crossed her arms and leaned back.

“Millie, I really don’t wanna do this later, so just get it over with and tell me why you’re angry again,” Moxxie said.

“Don’t worry, Mox. I ain’t angry,” Millie said, “Or maybe I am because I wanna talk to my husband and he’d rather go ahead and take a nap.”

“Millie, I’ve been trying to work all day and I couldn’t because I’m stressed. I’m just gonna rest.”

“Ha! You’re stressed? You’re stressed?! Clearly, you have no idea what I’ve been through!”

“Um, yes, I do know," Moxxie said, "You’ve made that very clear for a while now.”

"Oh, have I? Well, thank you for being so caring when you noticed what I've been going through."

Moxxie opened his mouth to say something. But instead, he stopped and faced away from Millie.

"What?" Millie asked.

"Nothing," Moxxie said, wanting to make sure that Millie didn't see him cry.

That didn't make Millie less angry, unfortunately. She shook her head.

"Of course, you'd rather just ignore me," Millie said.

Moxxie didn't look at her, "...why are you being like this..?"

"Being like what?"

"THIS!"

Moxxie turned to look at Millie with tears in his eyes.

"Ever since what happened with our baby and your dad, you've been nothing but pissed about literally everything, including with me and Booker!" Moxxie said.

"Uh, I got a right to be angry, Moxxie!" Millie said.

"I'm not saying you don't! I'm saying that I can't take it anymore! I swear, I'm about to have a heart attack with the stress you're putting on me!"

"If I've been stressing you out, then how about you just leave?! After all, it's pretty clear you want nothing to do with me anymore!"

"Millie! I still care about you!" Moxxie said.

"Do you?! Do you really?!" Millie asked, "Cuz I'm starting to feel like you don't anymore! And after all I done for you?! I worked two jobs to help you through college, I rescued you from some bullshit wedding cuz of your psychotic daddy, I forgave you for not telling me for 10 years that my best friend was still alive, I rescued you from a fish monster, and when that same fish monster gave you a stupid parasite that almost killed you, I stayed by your side! But of course, when I'm going through shit, you just wanna act like it's not important!"

"That's not true! I wanna be by your side! I just don't want you to be taking your anger out on me when it wasn't my fault!"

"Oh, so, you DO think it's my fault that I had the miscarriage, huh?!"

"No, that's not what I'm saying!"

"You pretty much just did!"

"No, I didn't!"

"Mama? Daddy?"

Moxxie and Millie looked to see Booker standing a few week away. They had woken him up because of their arguing.

"Why are you yelling?" Booker asked.

"Booker, just go back to sleep, ok?" Moxxie asked.

"But.."

"Booker, listen to your daddy and go to sleep," Millie said.

"B-but, I-"

I TOLD YOU TO GO BACK TO FUCKING SLEEP, YOU STUPID LITTLE SHIT!!” Millie yelled, causing Booker to run away crying.

“Booker, wait!” Moxxie said as he started walking before looking with Millie, “Millie, why would you say that?!”

“It ain’t my fault that brat doesn't listen!”

“Millie, don’t call him that!”

Moxxie continued walking.

“Where the fuck are you going?!” Millie asked.

“I’m gonna go check on him!” Moxxie replied.

“Uh, no you’re not! We ain’t done here!”

“YES WE ARE!”

Moxxie turned to walk away.

“Moxxie..”

Moxxie stopped and slowly turned around to look at Millie.

Millie glared at him, “If you walk away from me.. I won’t be here when you come back..”

Moxxie stared at Millie, not believing what he had just heard.

Millie stared back, waiting for him to respond.

But he never did.

He simply walked away.

Moxxie walked into Booker’s room to find him crying to his pillow. He immediately walked over to his bed, sat down, gently lifted him up, and allowed him to cry into his chest.

Moxxie stared at Booker in silence, rubbing his back. He didn’t dare to leave his side, even as he heard the front door open and slam shut soon after.

Notes:

Well... that didn't go well..

Ok, I could give a long explanation as to where I've been, but I'm just gonna sum it all up real quick.

First, I got really busy over the last few weeks, then my sleeping habits became absolutely garbage once again (it's why this chapter's coming late in the day), and finally, I was gonna return on Saturday but there was a family emergency regarding my mom that I had to be focused on, which was also the reason why I didn't post yesterday or Monday. And before anyone wonders, my mom is ok. Basically, she had to have surgery and is currently recovering.

To say I'm disappointed with how this is going would be an understatement. I feel like I'm constantly letting you guys down and I apologize for that. And if you're still here, waiting for me to post something, then thank you for sticking it out, even if it's annoying to wait for an update from me.

We're in the second half of the year now. I know I can't continue being absent for so long. I'm gonna try my best to continue posting, not only for you guys, but for myself too, because I love writing and posting for you guys. And again, for those that are still here, wondering and asking when I'll post whenever I'm gone, thank you so much for sticking it out.

Other than that, you guys want to know when I post a new chapter/new work more earlier, I do encourage you to follow me on Twitter: https:// /LostInSeas21 or on Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/lostinseas.bsky.social.

If you want to ask me a question about upcoming chapters/stories, about a preexisting chapter/story, or any question you might have, you can ask me it in the comments, on Twitter, or on Bluesky. I'll be happy to answer any question you got to the best of my ability!

If you wish to talk to me in private, you can DM me on Twitter. My DMs are open so I should be able to receive any messages you send my way. Just a quick note, if you do send me a message, my apologies if I don’t respond immediately. Twitter doesn't tell me when someone requests to send me a message. I’ll be sure to get to your message as soon as possible. If I’m unable to speak at the moment, I’ll be sure to let you know when there is a better time to speak.

With that, I'll see y'all soon!
