Something slips down his throat, through the peaceful delusion that maybe none of this is real at all. Things that don’t feel real often aren’t. You can’t see the Eclipse Cannon’s remnants in the sky at night, on this side of the world. When the moon’s in the right phase, you can’t see what’s left of it. It’s not unreasonable to think that maybe the world wasn’t nearly annihilated, cosmically, while Stone had been choking on Thames water.
