HERO FACTORY
MAKUHERO CITY

It was the middle of the morning at the Hero Factory as Heroes returned from missions and other activities. While many believe that the Hero Factory is just a vast military building, Mr. Makuro had ensured that all heroes, no matter their rank, would get their daily breaks, rest, recharge, shower, and whatnot. This included large lounge rooms for all the heroes to rest, relax, and even eat. While the heroes didn’t need to drink or eat like any organic organism, they could consume energy or oil-based foods and drinks to feel full.
Mr. Makuro had travelled across various galaxies a lot, so he was able to collect various recipes and dishes that he then turned into energy-based food.

The three rookies of the Alpha 1 team were on the couch of one of the lounge rooms as they were watching a movie from Koliop XI. On the screen of the high-tech television there was a roaring purple three-eyed dragon that was facing against a blue alien in a high tech jetpack and weapons while a chained purple three-armed alien was tied up with chains behind them, and of course, like every damsel in distress, screaming for help at the sight of the dragon.

Furno was mildly interested into the movie, watching just because he had nothing else to do, Breez had a bit of a bored expression and tired of the screaming woman, but Surge had his entire attention to the film as he was always a big fan of outer worlds cinema history and such, and he was most of the time he was the one that forced the other two to watch those movies during their free time.

“Here we go again with this...” Natalie muttered as she rolled her eyes and folded her arms, almost not wanting to watch the movie. Surge shot her a half-glare, distracting himself from the movie. “I’ll have you know that this movie is one of the best that has come out from its solar system! And that no other studio has ever succeeded in doing something as good as this!” Surge said with confidence, which he would get only in these rare cases when they talked about his favorite topics.

“No offense, Surge, but…” Furno started as he rubbed the back of his head. “There are only three planets in that solar system, and this movie was the best…like 60 years ago. Plus, it’s a butchering of the classic one,” He said honestly to his best friend.

Natalie hummed in agreement and scooted a little closer to Furno. “If we’re being honest, Surge, he’s right. I mean, it’s like replacing those cool elemental fights they had 10 years earlier with a couple of dudes with jetpacks and blasters, not the same level of coolness,” she said while waving her arms.

Surge rolled his eyes and slumped back on the couch, not facing his friends anymore. “Whatever, you’re just jealous you never made a movie,” He muttered as he continued watching.

Breez stretched a little and got up. “I’m gonna grab a drink,” She said as she was about to open the fridge of the area since she was half-asleep. When she was just a few inches away from the handle, the door opened off the lounge with a ‘hiss’ as Stormer was there with his mask lifted up as he immediately looked around the room and arched a brow.

When the two on the couch noticed their leader, Surge sprinted to turn off the TV while Furno got up and straightened immediately. A surge followed. Breez really wanted a drink but groaned to herself as she straightened up too.

“Happy to see that you aren’t slacking off during your time off, rookies,” He muttered while pacing around the room with is arms folded behind his back “Just kidding, I’m never happy when I’m around you three, nor you should slack off during your time off” he scolded them.

Surge muttered, “But then why is it called Time off?” to himself, but before Stormer could hear him, both Breez and Furno gave him a slap behind his head. Stormer turned around with a confused look but decided not to question it.

“We got a mission from Zib, this time we will work with another hero team, so Bulk and Stringer won’t be present with us” He informed them as the three rookies looked at each other, wondering which hero team they will work with “When a Hero Team is training rookies, they often do mission with other specialized teams so that the rookies can learn from various experiences while still being lead by professionals” he said and then stopped in front of the three “Usually my rookies don’t last this long” he says “Usually they get reassigned before, but you three have somehow impressed me a little” The three rookies felt proud about themselves a little before Stormer added the following.

“But a really small impression, so small, smaller and shorter than your time off. If I could measure my pride in centimeters, then I wouldn’t even be able to get to a quarter of an atom, which is already too much for you three combined.” He finished while looking at them with the most serious and emotionless expression. The three rookies stood there in silence, Surge moved from one foot to another before Stormer turned around and told them to follow him.

Breez tried one last-ditch attempt to grab her drink, but she was pulled out by Furno.

—-

The hero and the rookies arrived at Zib’s command center, where they greeted him. Zib looked up near Quadal and smiled at the heroes as he held his datapad as always.

“Ready for another mission, Stormer?” He said with enthusiasm as the white hero was the first to come down the stairs. Stormer nodded while the rookies followed him down. “Just ready to show these rookies some actions with some big threats,” He said while gesturing to the three coloured rookies. “Who do you have for me?” he asked Zib.

Zib tapped a few buttons on his datapad as he smiled up at the four. “Well, I’m not usually the one that does the presentation, but here I present you: Hero Team Epsilon 4!” He said excitedly as he opened his arms to a hero team of three on the other side of the room.
The hero all stepped forward one by one as their names were called by Zib.

“Azar Wright!” He said the first to walk forward was a hero with pink armor. Her helmet was identical to Furno’s, and her body armor was the one of Stormer. She had orange optics, and she was holding a weapon, the same one that Stringer had. “She’s the technician of the team,” Zib said, introducing her.

“Gil Driver,” he continued, and then a black armored bot stepped forward with a helmet that was the same one as Stormer's. He had green eyes and core with the chest armor of the rookies, meaning he was a new hero that had just graduated. “He’s the encyclopedia of the team; ask him about any threat that you could encounter, and he WILL know them to the smallest detail”.

“And finally,” Zib said as the slightly taller and central bot stepped forward, “The leader of the team, Landford Puck.” The bot had the same armor of Bulk as he had as a helmet, a different one that the heroes had never seen before. He had an orange armor on that matched his helmet, and he held a small baton stick to his side, which confused the heroes.

Stormer and Landford both walked toward each other and shook hands. “Glad to finally have another mission with you, Stormer, Sir,” Landford said while releasing his grip and smiling. “I hope this batch of rookies is as good as Zib said if they lasted more than a month with you”. Stormer smiled at the fellow leader “The honor is mine, Landford” He said as he turned to the confused rookies “Landford Puck here has been a veteran from the start of the Hero Factory. He was the first to be created for a specific type of emergencies and yes, he is a generation 1 hero” he said as if he was describing the emperor of the galaxy.

All three rookies widened their eyes in surprise or let out a small gasp of admiration, even Breez, who was feeling down for her drink and also because she didn’t meet her favorite hero.

“Wow it’-it’s,” Furno stuttered as he held his head and got his act together though he was smiling like a child seeing his favorite role model. “It’s an honor even being in your presence, sir,” He said, flustered.

Stormer glared at him a little but Lanford chuckled “Calm down, William right?” he asked and Furno was shocked at first that he would call him by his first name but he nodded “William, my age and experience doesn’t make me different from any other hero in this Factory, but still it’s always nice to meet a fan” he chuckled while his other two teammates walked forward to the rookies.

“Looks like you’ve got a fan, Sir,” Azar Wright said as she leaned on her side and chuckled at Furno. The red hero wouldn’t have admitted it, but he got a little more red and looked down with a smile but with shame, which Natalie and Mark noted and didn’t like.

“Oh, cut him some slack, Wright,” Landford said while looking back at his team and then at the rookies. “He’s just nervous to be in the presence of two of the greatest heroes of the Hero Factory in the same room, right Stormer?” He said, turning to the leader.

Stormer arched a brow and nodded, though in his mind he was thinking, “He didn’t act this way when he met me. By Mr. Makuro, this kid reminds me too much of Von-” His thoughts were cut off when Landford turned to Zib.
“So Zib, what’s the mission this time? Got an Arcadian Sand Snake to catch? Or maybe we need to help some boats taking care of a space megalodon,” he chuckled while saying so.

Surge and Natalie got a bit puzzled at his joke and looked at him weirdly. “Wait, what do you mean by that, Sir?” Breez asked.

Gil Driver answered for the team, “The Epsilon 4 Hero Team is designated to a special type of emergency calls: Handling Mythical Creatures from all the galaxies,” he explained, at which the three rookies got even more bewildered. How much more could these guys get cooler? They thought in unison.

Zib cleared his throat to get the attention and smiled “Exactly! Today you will go on the planet known as Earth, in the Milky Way” he explained as he pulled up an image of the planet on the hologram table in the middle of the room “Reports were coming from students, teachers and local authorities of the area that a dragon had crashed inside the school and it’s now sleeping it it” he said as he pointed the part of the map where it happened, which was in North America. “They said that the dragon just came out of a portal and crashed while spitting flames and destroying everything. Luckily, no one got hurt, and they evacuated the school”.

The seven heroes listened carefully to every and any information that Zib gave before Stormer turned to Landford. “I’ll give you overall command of the mission, though my rookies are still under me,” he said to him. The orange hero gave a short nod and turned to the rest of the heroes.

“Well, rookies and heroes, looks like we’re going to Earth,” He said while putting his arms on his sides. “We’ve got a dragon to relocate back home”.

Chapter Text

The Hero Craft flew through space as the heroes arrived closer and closer to Earth, avoiding asteroid belts and shooting them if they ever got too close for their comfort. Their ship was modified to be larger and able to transport and relocate dangerous creatures. The cockpit of the ship was of the same form and so was the rest of it, until the end. The ship then prolonged into two rectangular pillars that served as generators to create a large energy cube around any creature that they could find. The engines of the ship were put on the sides of it, near the wings of the dropship which were now four in this model. In the cockpit of the ship, Stormer and Landford were piloting it, surprisingly Stormer stood on the co-pilot station, which he would only do when he would give rookies flying tests with a Dropship.

The other members of the team and the Rookies were instead sat in the normal haul of the ship. Furno fidgeted with his thumbs a little as he was put between Gil and Azar, Natalie and Surge were instead on the other side as the blue rookie checked his weapon and Breez just read the files and information that they had been given.

“So..” Furno said and got the attention of the two heroes and Surge, Breez just glanced up at him for a moment before looking back down at the datapad “What’s it like to serve under one of the first heroes ever existed?” He said while turning to both Azar and GIl.

Gil Driver was the first to answer the rookie “Actually, he’s pretty chill. He may give us orders and be our team leaders, but that’s what we are, a team. He’s basically what organic organisms call a ‘father’ or ‘big brother’” Azar Wright then spoke up and made the rookie turn around “We couldn’t ask for a better leader, but that doesn’t mean he can’t go hard on us." The pink heroine said “Honestly we all wished to be on the Alpha 1 Team, but catching creatures that are 20 times our size is pretty awesome too! One time we went inside an Asteroid Worm for a month” She said excitedly.

Furno listened closely to the two and smiled a little at the female hero “Woah, that sounds awesome” He said, he thought to himself how that sentence sounded a little too similar to the one of a fanboy. He then turned to his friends to see their reaction “Doesn’t it, guys?”

Surge was actually listening and gave a small shrug and nod with a smile “Yeah, it does actually sound pretty cool. Don’t know if I would change it for my spot in the Alpha 1 Team though” He said as he was actually impressed with the two. On the other hand, Breez looked up from her datapad for a second, let out a noise that all couldn’t recognize and went back to her reading. It was between a ‘Heh’ and a ‘Mhm’, but for Surge and Furno it translated to a: “Don’t Know. Don’t Care”.

“It does sound exciting” Breez said after a moment of silence while putting the datapad down and looking up at them “But it doesn’t sound like it would be something I would do” she finished as Surge shot her a look “What? Something that YOU wouldn’t do?” He asked not to believe her. Gil gave a confused look “Why would that be strange, Surge?” He asked the rookie. Mark turned around to face the three “Breez has been built with one of the newest technologies in the galaxy” he said at which Furno continued “She can speak to basically any animal registered in the universe like it’s her mother tongue, also she can understand, copy and speak an entire language of a planet just by listening to a few sentences”

“There’s no need to explain it like it’s my application for the team” Breez said while crossing her arms and giving Furno a half-glare. Furno rubbed the back of his head but Azar spoke, looking at Breez “That sounds awesome! You could really help us with every creature and monster, plus we’d really need another girl on the team”.

The last part of the conversation was also picked up by Stormer as he took off his focus from the ship and leaned just a little closer so his auditory receptors could hear Breez’s response.
Breez sighed but gave Azar one of her usual bright smiles “No offense to you, Azar, or any of you honestly, but working in the Alpha 1 Team was my dream since I was able to see what Stormer, Bulk and Stringer could do” She said “They always inspired me more than other heroes, they felt closer than the others, even if they didn’t have my same abilities” she then looked down and fidgeted with her hands a little “Plus there is a downside to my …ability” Gil and Azar leaned a little foward to listen more to the heroine. Natalie gave a sigh and looked up again “Having the ability to talk with animals…it’s awesome really, you can understand them at a deeper lever and…connect to them more, but…” she stopped a moment to think to herself “When I tested with more…intelligent species I didn’t feel like I was talking to an animal. I felt like I was talking to someone on my same level of intelligence. They had ideas, thoughts, beliefs, instincts that almost felt…complicated, too complicated for their minds” she finished and took a sigh of relief “So yes it would be a real honor to be on your team, really, but I also know that most of the species you engage are over the basic intelligence levels of a normal animal and that I…still need time to adapt to that” she finished with honestly.

Azar smiled at the rookie and leaned back in her chair “Oh don’t worry, Nat. I understand, but don’t think we’re not gonna call you when we need some assistance with some big fishes” Stormer in the meantime had heard Natalie’s response and leaned back up in his position, satisfied with the rookie’s determination to the team.

“ATTENTION HEROOOOOOES!” Landford said loudly and happily from the pilot seat as they now saw that they arrived near Earth’s Atmosphere, already going inside of it “We’ve arrived on Earth, home to the human race and uhm..honestly I don’t know what else, but we’re here so buckle your seatbelts! We’ve got a dragon to take back home!”

Notes:

Yes, Stormer is very overprotective of his rookies and actually cares about them in some kind of twisted way.

Chapter Text

The Herocraft landed outside of the school, in the parking lot of the cars which was thankfully evacuated. The seven heroes stepped out of the craft as they looked around themselves. Immediately they saw that hundreds of humans of all ages ,that ranged from little kids to full grown adults, were filming them, screaming excitedly at them as if they were some kind of rock stars. Stormer rolled his eyes as he proceeded to activate his mouth guard to try and prevent the locals from seeing his annoyance at them. Landford chuckled at the Team Leader’s attitude and turned to his teammates. Meanwhile, the rookies were watching the humans with a surprised look on their face as their battle masks were also on due to protocol. Breez was the first to speak of the three “I would have never expected that the Hero Factory was this famous on a planet like Earth” she muttered at which Surge could just nod in agreement “Maybe a really important mission happened here? Maybe a battle to the death against a villain?” Furno asked while looking around and then back at his friends who just shrugged.

They were interrupted when Stormer signaled them that they were regrouping. The three rookies round up with the other four heroes as Landford spoke up to explain the plan “Okay, listen up people” He began “I’ve talked with local authorities and it seems that the dragon did nothing but fall inside the school, which means three possible things” he said then stayed in silence hoping that the rookies answered. Breez, who was the more experienced with animals. said “Injured, Dead or sleeping” with a rush in her voice. Landford nodded to her in confirmation and continued “That’s right, we’re going inside of the school to see what its conditions are and then we’ll see what to do from there” He waited for the whole team to get an idea of what they were going to do before concluding with “Let’s go Heroes” as he turned around and they began to walk to and through the school.

“Hey uhm Alpha Leader, sir?” Surge asked in a bit of a hesitant tone as the three rookies hurried behind him, Stormer meanwhile just gave them a little side glance while they continued to move forward. Surge continued “Why do you hate Earth so much? It doesn’t seem so bad” he asked. Stormer thought about if he should respond or not for a little before turning around and facing forward “I don’t hate it, rookie” he said bluntly “Nothing that major happened here, I just hate…fans and admirers” he said with a bit of honesty “We’re supposed to be heroes, not rockstars”. The three rookies took the information and decided to accept the answer for now.

“But you’re a famous hero, no?” Furno asked “Surely you have lots of fans that like you”. Stormer didn’t turn around for this question “Sure I do have them, doesn’t mean that I want them” He said again bluntly before giving a side glance to the rookies “Never let fame get in your head and let you think you’re better than any other person in this galaxy or other” he decided to halt and turn around to face them “Never, EVER, think you’re not a hero. You’re always a hero no matter what, but you have to be only that and not anything else, or you’ll begin to change how you are” He concluded and turned around to walk behind Epsilon 4. He didn’t know if he was too harsh on the rookies with that last sentence, but he really wished that he would have said that to HIM before he…Stormer shook his head, deciding that it wasn’t the time to think about that mission again.

The 7 heroes began to walk around the hallways of the large school, trying to find anything that would prove where the dragon was, they had found some rubbles here and there, but nothing that would tell them where it had crash-landed inside of it.

Landford began to look up at the ceiling as he saw that there were big cracks in it while also on the walls, he was not paying attention where he was going until Gil noticed it for his team leader and widened his eyes as he grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him back “Sir!” He warned as the seven heroes all stopped. Landford was taken aback a little by what had happened until he looked down. There was a giant crater in the ground with various cables and water falling down in it, they could barely see the bottom of it. Landford looked at it for a moment, giving Gil a nod as a thank you, he then turned to the others.

“Alright this is it, the dragon is 100 percent down there. We will see its conditions by going down there with our cables. Rookies, stay here for now” he said “I don’t want to put you on the bench but I don’t know yet if this dragon is awake or not, if it's docile, then you can come down with us, alright?” He said as if he was a parent talking to some children that wanted to go to a haunted house. The rookies nodded without much of a problem and the four heroes grabbed their cables as they attached it to the ground firmly and began their descent into the crater.

Landford and Stormer were the first to touch the ground, Azar and Gil followed shortly after. They looked around with their torches as they tried to locate the dragon, until they heard heavy breathing in front of them. In front of them, curled up like a dog, was the giant dragon they had been searching. It had white scales on its body as its tail had a spiked ball at the end of it. Gil checked the sides of the dragon to see if its wings were damaged, surprisingly they were not and he gave a nod to Landford since he couldn’t make too much noise or the dragon would wake up. Azar, along with Stormer, approached the side of the dragon and checked its vitality as she knelt down and attached her wrist cables to its belly. She waited for a moment before saying anything. Stormer looked down at her and asked “So?” In a hushed tone. Azar looked up at him “It’s…” She checked between the legs of the dragon which was at least 5 times their size, “She’s asleep, but her vitals are all off the charts, I think we’ve got a P case right here” She said while giving Stormer a worried look.

Stormer arched a metal brow at this “P case?” He asked, Azar answered quickly “Pregnancy case, she’s expecting” She said while touching the swollen belly. Stormer was shocked for a moment before looking back at the dragon “So that’s why she crashed here, she needed a new nest to lay the egg” he murmured then looked back at Azar “But shouldn’t she have laid the egg on her home planet? Why come here?” Azar looked down for a moment to think of an answer “I can’t say for certain, but maybe she was too far away from her planet or maybe something conquered her territory” she concluded.

Landford approached them with slow steps along with Gil “We need to bring her out before she wakes up, nobody wants an angry mother dragon that smashes through cities” He warned, but Stormer shook his head “No, she is dangerous but she needs to deliver the egg before she can be moved” he said while walking closer to Landford “We bring Breez down here to talk to her so she can calm down and tell her that we’re here to help her deliver the egg, then we bring them both home”. Landford was a bit surprised at Stormer’s defiance and walked closer to him “As much as Breez’s abilites are useful, this is a dangerous specimen who will act dangerously immediately after she is woken up. So as much as I do find useful your rookie’s abili-” “Don’t you talk to me about my rookies” Stormer cut him off and warned him. He still did so in a hushed tone not to wake up the mother “I’m not moving halfway through the galaxy a pregnant dragon with the chance that she might deliver it while we’re in space”. Landford got a little offended by this but tried to stay calm even if they were both grinding their teeth and glaring at each other “You said I had full control over the mission, Stormer” He said while glaring at the white hero “I said that before you decided to think of one of the most idiotic strategies you could have thought for”. Lanford’s eyes twitched a little for the last comment “Idiotic strategies? I’m not the one going around with defective rookies”. Stormer had enough of the conversation and really wanted to punch Landford in the face, until he felt himself shrink and go down. He looked down and saw that the ground beneath him had crumbled even more, causing a chain reaction of noises all around the crater.

Not much later all four heroes stood still as they heard a growling behind them. They all looked back as the mother immediately stood up from her slumber, even if slowly, while snarling and glaring at them. Its green eyes looked at all of the threats to her and her egg. She opened her mouth and roared at the heroes. The heroes took out their weapons, but Landford spoke up “Don’t use maximum force! We have to put her back to sleep or immobilize her!”. The heroes began blasting with their weapons but it didn’t do much to the armored dragon. The mother growled and turned around slowly as she brought down her tail over them. All four heroes jumped out of the way to evade the hit. Stormer looked around and then backed away a little when the dragon focused on him and snarled. Stormer glared back and pointed his weapon at the animal “Give me a reason, come on” He warned as he prepared his trigger. The Mother roared at him and lounge to him, Stormer blasted her with a few ice shots but it didn’t do anything to her as she brought down her talons on him. Thankfully she didn’t go to destroy him, but she did grab him and pull him up in the air as she began to slowly and heavily fly out of the crater. Stormer tried to use his harpoon but it soon broke when he tried to attach it to a pillar.

Furno, Breez and Surge were waiting at the entrance of the crater as they wanted to hear any signal from the heroes. They looked down when they heard a roar. “Hey what’s that?” Furno said as something began to come closer and closer to them. Surge and Breez noticed it as they both tackled Furno out of the way before the dragon came through, smashing the ceiling and flying out of the school. The rookies got up and managed to get a glimpse of Stormer in the mother’s claw. They looked down at the crater and saw that Epsilon 4’s cables had been destroyed, meaning they were trapped there for the time being.

“Was that Stormer?” Surge said while looking up using the hole that the dragon made while Breez and Furno groaned as they got up and they rubbed the back of their heads. Surge’s eyes then widened “Oh…THAT WAS STORMER?!” He yelled as he turned around to his friends, panicking “And Epsilon 4 is trapped down there! How the hell do we stop a dragon?! It’s like 5 times our size and we certainly do not have the firepower for that thing, and then that thing ca-” Surge stopped his rambling only when Breez slapped him across the face. Surge waited stunned for a moment, Breez titled her head “Better?” she asked, he nodded.

Furno then began to turn around and run to the Hero Craft while the two rookies followed him “What are you going to do?” Breez asked while they were approaching the exit. Furno then responded honestly “I don’t know, I’m thinking about a plan right now” Surge chuckled in desperation and shook his head “You’re thinking of a plan right now?! Oh we’re doomed!”.

After a few minutes they finally reached the exit and found the Hero Craft where they had left it. Not bothering to even notice the crowd of people, the three rookies got in and closed the ship as Furno got on the pilot seat and started up the ship. “Do you even know how to fly this thing?!” Surge said as he got on the co-pilot ship after Breez had told him to do so. Furno waved his hand up and down and with an unsure tone he said “Hehhhhh, it’s a 50/50. It’s like a bike no?” And with optimism, but also with Surge’s protests, He began to pull up the ship. It took him a while to understand the command of the vessel, Breez was holding herself with all strength and Surge was trying not to puke, he didn’t even know if he could have, but he was trying not to. Furno then got the hand of it and proceeded to pilot the ship in the direction that the dragon had taken Stormer to, they were a heavy ship, but still, they know they were on her trail due to the fact that it left a bit of destroyed buildings.

“So, do you have any plans yet? Future Alpha Leader Furno?” Surge said sarcastically as he tried to steady himself. Furno tried to keep the ship on a straight line, but it was difficult for him “I have a concept of a plan” He said with a hopeful tone, Surge rolled his eyes and muttered a “Oh great”. Furno paid no mind to him and glanced at Breez “Nat, can you drop on top of the dragon and try to calm her down?” Natalie thought about it for a moment, Stormer’s life was on the line and she wasn’t going to let her fear stop her from completing her job as a hero. She nodded to Furno with a determined look “Just get me close to her”.

The trio had tried to find the dragon for a while, they managed to follow her over a dark green forest with very long Earth Trees. Surge saw the dragon in front of them and pointed it to Furno. After noticing it too, Furno steered the ship where the dragon was. The were near it, but not enough for Natalie to make the jump. They could also see Stormer dangling from her claws as he noticed them too, though he didn’t seem to happy about them piloting a Dropship. “I can’t get you closer than this, Breez” Furno said while trying to evade the dragon’s tail. Breez nodded and prepared herself “Don’t worry, this is enough for me” And she opened a valve on top of the roof of the ship which led her outside on the exterior. She tried to steady herself on the ship, but Furno’s driving skill didn’t make it easy for her. She took out one of her weapons and pointed it at the creature, she readied her harpoon and after a few seconds, she shot it out. The Harpoon wasn’t long enough for her to attach to the dragon. So she took a deep breath, and run until the tip of the dropship where she jumped off, then in mid-air, she shot out the hook again, which this time worked. Breez was taken up in the air and she was soon on the back of the dragon. It was hard for her, but she managed to crawl her way on all fours on top of the head of the dragon as she activated the language of some dragon species that she registered.

Now, from the outsider’s eye, Natalie was mimicking growling and snarling noises from a giant dragon like a 5-year-old child would, which was amusing to watch in some way by Furno and Surge. It took a bit of convincing, but the dragon released Stormer and landed in the forest, though she released the hero in the middle of the air and he had to shoot out his harpoon to slow his fall until he hit ground.

Furno and Surge landed the ship as they ran to Stormer “Stormer, sir! Are you alright?” Furno said while helping the team leader up, Stormer swatted their hands away but nodded “I am, and we are going to have a long conversation about your piloting skills after we are done with this, but right now we need to help someone get their egg out of their body”. They ran to the mother which was laid on the ground and making deep and slow growls as Breez was patting her head. She turned to the other three and said “She’s about to give birth, thankfully her species is from Kolkor, so we don’t need to help with much, but you need to catch the egg” Stormer nodded and the three heroes positioned themselves where the egg would drop out, ready to take it as soon as it was out. Stormer then got a little confused and turned his head to Breez “Hey Breez?” He said to get her attention.

Natalie turned around to face him and gave him a nod to indicate she was listening to him “You said that Kolkor Dragon lay eggs with no help right?” She nodded again. Stormer then got even more confused “So what do you mean when you say we’re supposed to cat-”

Stormer didn’t even finish the sentence as the egg came out of the mother like a bullet would from a barrel. Unfortunately for the heroes, it was covered in a green goo, and all three were launched against a tree as they caught it and also got wet into an alien dragon goo. They all groaned in pain as Stormer got the egg off him and stood up, he looked down at himself and groaned. He glared at Natalie as he shouted “BREEEEEZ! YOU ARE DEAD!”. Natalie chuckled a little while the mother let out a small happy sigh before dozing off after seeing the egg was safe.

After a lot of work, The Alpha 1 Team were able to put the dragon calmly into her energy cage with her egg and they also retrieved the Epsilon 4 team from the crater, with Stormer and Landford having a talk about their argument. They laid the ship of Kolkor as they opened the cage and the mother dragon looked at them before grabbing her egg and flying off into the distant sky of the planet. Breez waved the mother goodbye as the heroes started to make their way back into the ship.

“Well it was a fun experience, wasn’t it?” Breez said while walking with her hands together behind her back, Stormer only grumbled in response “Maybe for you, I was in the claws of that beast for who know how long” he murmured and then stopped to face the rookies “But you did complete the mission alone without the help of the Epsilon 4 team, which is impressive as you were supposed to work with them. Do you know why you’re in the Alpha 1 team?” He asked them and they had come up with some funny responses but they kept their mouth shut and shook their heads no and shrugged “It’s because the Alpha 1 team doesn’t respond to only robberies, or rescue missions, or catching criminals or stopping a dragon” He stated “It is because we do all of them and if I choose you three to be on this team, it means I know you have the power, will, determination and abilities to do so. Sure you will have your bad moments, every hero has them, sure you may fail the mission, sure you may not be as qualified for a certain mission than for another, but you’re the future of the Alpha 1 Team, and I believe that because I believe that you will be the best of the best” The rookies felt full of confidence in themselves when Stormer finished that speech, ready to take on the entire galaxy, until he turned around and began to mumble like he didn’t care about them. “Of course that is if you are ever going to pass all of my tests, and if you don’t get killed in action, there is also the possibility that you injure yourself too much, and we definetly can’t not mention the possibility of you…”

The rookies stopped listening as they got on the dropship and returned home.

Chapter Text

The Mother returned back to her nest were she previosly was, she checked her surroundings to make sure that she could lay her egg safly before doing so. Suddenly, a ominous dark, blue, purple, black and white portal opened in front of her. She immediately snarled as she recognized who it was.

The shadow figure glared at her through his red blurry eyes “So it seems like the heroes have managed to fix this mess to even after I destroyed your previous nest? What a bummer” He murmured to himself as he looked around the rocky area of the planet and then back at the mother “Oh relax, I’m not going to do anything to you or your egg, it was just business” He said as he waved an clawed hand around. He then re-opened the portal that led him there as he hovered over the ground, he turned around to have a glimpse of the mother “Though I forgot to say, congratulations” He said with almost no care in his voice “A parent’s love for their child is…unmeasurable” He disappeared into the portal, leaving the mother alone and confused.
