Chapter Text

Why did Ango think it would be a normal day at work today? He should’ve expected that at this point, literally anything could happen. So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when he blinked and found himself standing in the middle of a random room he had never seen before.

The room looked almost like a cabin or lodge, with the walls being made of logs and everything having an overall warm and cozy feeling. However, his situation was anything but warm and cozy. Just where the hell was he?

Ango walked over to one of the windows and tried to pull the curtains open, but they were stapled to the window frame. He tried to peek through the gap and found that there was just a picture of a forest posted on the outside of the window. It still had the Shutterstock watermark on it. Whoever or whatever brought him here clearly wasn’t trying too hard to make him believe it was real.

With a sigh he let the curtains go and turned back around to find another person sitting on the floor. He looked like he had just been pushed over with the way he was sitting, his arms were behind him and supporting him from falling on his back. He had short blonde hair and looked to be no older than seventeen at the most. His outfit was also very strange for someone his age. It was very formal and he gave off rich kid vibes.

“Who the hell are you? Did you bring me here?” The boy snapped, his eyes narrowing.

“Do I look like I brought you here?” Ango responded sharply.

“I’m starting to learn not to judge someone’s abilities based on what they look like,” he said.

“No, I didn't bring you here. I’m probably just as confused as you,” Ango told him, trying to keep in mind that he was just a teenager.

“What’s your quirk?”

Ango’s brain paused for a moment. Quirk? What was he on about? The kid made it seem like it was a normal question. He didn’t know exactly how to respond. He didn’t want to seem like he was stupid by coming straight out and asking, but also pretending like he did know was also a dangerous game to play.

“It’s none of your business,” Ango decided after a moment.

“Why are you being so secretive?” The boy asked.

“Because I have no clue who you are and I have no reason to tell you anything,” Ango snapped back. This only made the kid seem even more suspicious of him however. Ango walked over and offered him his hand to help him up. “My name is Ango Sakaguchi.”

“Monoma,” the boy replied, after eyeing his hand for a moment before finally taking it and pulling himself up to a standing position.

Ango was about to say something else when he heard a high pitched shriek from the other side of the room. Him and Monoma both turned and saw another teenage boy standing nervously behind a couch. He had black messy hair and was wearing a white school uniform. He seemed frozen in fear for a moment before ducking behind the couch.

“Kid, we saw you,” Ango said with a tired sigh.

They stood there in silence for a minute before the teenager slowly stood up, his eyes avoiding both of the others. “Uh, sorry about that.” His gaze slowly panned upwards to look at them. “Do either of you know where we are by any chance?”

“No, we just appeared here as well,” Ango told him.

“Do you think there’s going to be more,” Monoma asked him.

Ango gave the blonde boy a weird look. “What?”

“I mean, three of us have already anonymously appeared here, who’s to say there won’t be more showing up at any moment?” Monoma said, explaining his thought process.

“I just hope that if you’re right, the next person who shows up isn’t a teenager,” Ango said with yet another sigh. “Kids are so annoying. They only ever cause me problems.”

“I think you would like one of the teachers at my school,” Monoma muttered.

“Well, well, well. What have we here?” Another voice rang out.

Everyone looked up to where the voice had come from. There was a boy with bright red hair leaning against the railing up in the loft, which none of them had even realized was a part of the cabin. He was also wearing a school uniform, however his blazer was unbuttoned and he seemed more laid back. Ango didn’t like the expression he wore though. He was pretending to be all cocky, although you could tell from his eyes that he was analyzing everyone in the room.

“Where’s the octopus when you need him?” The boy groaned.

“Octopus?” Ango asked, raising an eyebrow.

The red haired boy narrowed his eyes onto Ango. “You look like you work for the government.”

Ango was starting to feel like he was definitely right about his hunch on this boy. “I do, but I don’t see why that’s any of your business.” He also didn’t like how the boy had deflected his question about this so-called octopus.

The red haired kid swept one of his legs over the railing before jumping down from the loft. He then waltzed over to the couch and fell onto it, kicking both his legs onto the armrest.

“I don’t understand how you can be so calm in this situation,” Monoma commented.

“Because I’m sure I’ll be saved momentarily,” he responded, as he leaned back.

Ango sighed and walked over to the other couch. “I need a nap, wake me up when everyone’s here or when something important happens,” he told Monoma.

“But how will we know when everyone is here?” The black haired boy asked, stepping away from the couch where the red haired boy had flopped onto.

“From what I’ve observed so far, it seems the appearances are only getting quicker, so I’m sure everyone will be here soon,” Ango said, laying down and closing his eyes.

This certainly had not been what he was expecting to be thrown into today. Where was Dazai’s super intelligence when you needed it?
