Chapter Text
Sophie's heeled boots clicked on the ground as she pulled her bags both on her shoulder and being pulled behind her rather than on a trolly. They just looked too ghastly to go near. Plus she could carry them herself. She could be both gorgeous and strong.
Harry stood to her right, willing to let the more confident girl take charge. She looked like she knew what she was doing so he trusted her to do so.
She scanned the crowd in search of the entrance to the platform. She knew by the name of it enough (9 & 3/4) that it was a wizard thing. So she only had to find them to find the platform.
Soon, she spotted a red haired family huddled together. They brought with them trolleys loaded with bags an old owl and she swore she spotted a rats tail poking out of one’s pocket. So it wasn’t to hard to figure out that they were going to Hogwarts.
They couldn’t have stood out any more if they tried. Though, she heard a few Londoners mutter something about ‘those foreigners’, evidently choosing to ignore the strong accent the family sported.
She walked over to them but stayed quietly to the side, still taking in as much as she could about the family as she spoke.
"Alright Percy, you first." The mother said, nodding at a tall, skinny boy. The eldest kid looked around before walking through one of the pillars.
As the mother got another kid ready the smallest (a girl) spoke. "Em. Mum?" She pointed to the two spectators. Sophie and Harry.
"Excuse me." Sophie said in an overly sweet tone.
"Oh dear! I'm sorry please go first!"
"Oh no that's not what I was saying I was just going to make sure you were aware we weren't muggles."
Harry nodded harshly at Sophie's words. After the twins had gone through Harry spoke. "Sorry could you tell me-?"
"How to get on to the platform? Not to worry dear it's Ron's first time to Hogwarts as well! I'm assuming it's yours two dear?"
Sophie nodded. "I'm happy to go through first though."
"Oh on you go then!" She stepped aside "Best to have a run up, makes it easier."
Sophie ignored the woman's words and strutted through without even a beat of doubt. On the other side, the platform buzzed with life, a warm red train standing proud.
Once in an empty carriage, Sophie pulled out the letter Merlin had left for her that very morning.
It read:
Dean Sophie, as a thanks for your sacrifice of time. I do hope you enjoy but also keep your guard up! There is a reason you are here of course.
PS. Half the wizarding world probably thinks I'm dead.
Beast wishes from Camelot.
Merlin
Sophie didn’t think Merlin was funny. She just didn’t.
There wasn’t much time to dwell on that thought as Harry’s head popped through the door.
"Oh, there you are!"
"Hello Harry."
She sat down and Harry looked over to her. "How do you walk on those heels?"
“They’re hardly heals.” She responded with an amused smile, chuckling at Harry’s frown at her comment.
Sophie rested her head on the window and began to drive off, watching the hills roll past the window like a painting.
She awoke at a large bump. And feeling something crawling on her, making her skin crawl.
"Hey what was that?!" Sophie screeched and blushed as the others in the carriage laughed.
After she had dusted herself off a bushy brown haired girl opened the door "I would get changed into your robes if I were you. We're almost there."
These robes are hideous!!" Sophie wined.
"There not that-" Ron (who had apparently entered after the girl had fell asleep) began to say.
"I can’t stand this I’ll look so horrid! This is almost as bad as those sacks from my old school!” She whined dramatically.

Sophie stepped into a boat with a few random strangers. As they were gliding across the lake excited chatter filling the air.
"I'm so excited to get sorted. Gryffindor's the best, I hope I get in."
"Hopefully not Slytherin! They're all evil you know!"
Once they arrived Sophie separated from the group and drifted toward her original group. They were herded up the stairs where a woman waited.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," the woman spoke "now, in a few minutes you will go through these doors and meet your houses. Now before you take your seats you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
“Now while you're here your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points any rule breaking and you will loose points. At the end of the year the house with the most points will award the house cup-"
The woman was interrupted by a kid running forward to hands rocketing out to catch a toad sitting at the woman’s feat, a cry of ‘Trevor!’ leaving his mouth.
She eyed the creature before continuing. "The sorting will begin momentarily."
A blond, greasy haired boy spoke. "It's true then Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts."
"Is he famous or something?" Sophie asked herself. It was clear to her now that neglecting to read Merlin’s letters explaining this work may cause some annoying consequences.
"This is crab and Goil and I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." The blond said with a cocky smirk on his lips.
Sophie giggled and a boy with red hair sniggered. "Think my names funny do you."
"Apologies, you remind me of someone, I meant no offence really."
"It's not difficult to tell who you are. Red hair and a hand me down robe? You bust be a Weasley. And," he looked to Sophie. "I don't even know who you are." He spat.
"Sophie, of woods beyond." She smirked. Draco's mouth fell open "Oh." He immediately went back to tormenting the Weasley.
Sophie wasn’t expecting that to mean anything to the boy, just expecting it to make her sound important but she wouldn’t lie and say she wasn’t pleased with this outcome.
Then the woman from earlier walked in and tapped the blond wizard on his shoulder. He snapped his mouth shut and all chatter ceased.
"We are ready for you now, follow me."
