Chapter Text
The sun is starting to shine. It's Saturday. Yay.
Jack woke up first. He felt a hand wrapped around him. He slowly turned around to see simon cuddling him. His face went red. Jackson waited for simon to woke up. He still feels sleepy and closed his eyes.
//
Jackson woke up again. This time, simon isn't next to him. He slowly stood up and went outside. He went to the kitchen to see simon cooking something. "Good Morning, I'm cooking pancakes, would you like to have some?", the older asked as he flipped the pancake.
Jack is a picky eater. He likes to eat pancakes with syrup but not too much. It disgusts him. If it's just what jack likes, he'll eat it. He also doesn't like butter and syrup together. It makes him vomit.
"Uh..sure? I'll have some", he said. But first, he went to the bathroom first.
//
"Are you feeling well?", simon asked while taking a sip of his coffee. "Hm..I have work today..", the younger responded. "Are you sure you're okay? If anything happens call me, alright?", simon said. "Yes, I'm fine, I'm gonna call you if anything happens, don't worry", jack reassured him.
//
Well what do you know, he has a headache again. His vision is getting blurry. He's showering in sweat and he feels like he's gonna vomit blood.
He can't breath properly and feels like he's suffocating from the lack of air. He didn't know what was happening. He fainted. A loud thud can be heard.
He heard tony calling for help while mason is trying to wake him up. Then, he heard nothing.
...
Jack got up quickly, gasping for air. He's drenched in sweat and his hand holding his chest. The room was dark.
He went outside of the room to see mason, Mr. Hall and Simon on the living room. "Huh? wha-what are you doing here?", he stammered.
"You passed out ed, I saw your phone on your pocket and called the first person that was in your contacts", mason explained. "Professor Paladino brought you here, in his house, if you're wondering why he's here..", pointing at Richard, "I called him to pick me up", they finished.
Jack noticed the tension between Simon and Richard. They're not looking at each other nor talking with each other. He thought that they don't get along very well. He also noticed that Richard felt uncomfortable standing next to Simon.
"Well, I'm just glad that you're alright, we're gonna get going now, take care of yourself", mason said and left with Richard.
"Do you feel like eating?", simon asked. "Not really..I feel sick", jack said. "Do you wanna go back to bed?", he asked again. Jack nodded.
Jack was shocked when simon suddenly carried him, bridal style.
"Hey! Why are you-what are you-", he stammered. Simon giggled softly. "I don't want you passing out again..", he said and smiled. Jackson's face went red as a tomato.
//
"Not to be in your business but, why are you avoiding professor paladino?", mason asked out of nowhere. Both of them are in the car. Richard driving. "I mean, you barely talked to him, you didn't even utter a word", they added. "Well, uh...it's a personal matter kid, don't get into our business, I don't want you getting in trouble", Richard chuckled nervously.
"I've known you since forever, I think I deserved to know what's bugging you whenever he's around", they said in a serious tone. Mason's just a kid. Why would he wanted to know their issue? "I'll tell you when we get home..".
//
He did not infact told him. He didn't needed to know about their business. All he said to him was, "We never looked eye to eye". That's it.That's all he said.
//
It's Monday. Again. He's getting a bit better. Though, he doesn't want to go to school.
He sat at the middle of the class next to cassie. He didn't really wanted to attend school today. Maybe cassie being here might make his day a bit better. "You okay eddie? You look a bit sad", his friend asked. Jack sighed. "I don't feel well", he muttered.
Cassie put her arm around jack. His face flustered of the sudden act. He looked at cassie and there's nothing on her face except for her expression to be serious.
"Some say you need to comfort and hug the most important people in your life if they're feeling down", she said out of the blue. Wow, he felt special when he heard that.
What is this strange feeling? He didn't felt this before. Maybe, a change? He was a narcissist back then. A person who has high ego. Cassie and his other friends being around him are making him feel weird things.
//
Jack and Cassie are outside. Cassie sitting and her back resting against the tree while jack is laying down on the grass. "He didn't asked you to have lunch together?", she asked, broking the silence. Jack looked at her with a confused face.
"What do you mean?", he asked. "Oh please, don't think i noticed you always having lunch with professor glasses everytime", she said. It wasn't surprising that cassie knows about this but it's still kinda surprising.
They were a moment of silence until jack saw him with...Ms. Hall? "Well would you look at that?", cassie said and scoffed. He's laughing with her. Smiling with her. Not the one's you give to your friends. This is different. Cassie looked at jack. She sighed.
"Forget him, you have me and you have that 2nd year guy", she said. "Mason?", he muttered. "Yeah, him, you have us, even if they're together, don't be so blue", she said, comforting him. "You have us anyway..", she added. Jack smiled a little.
//
Simon looks at his phone, wondering why jack hasn't been answering or replying to his messages for the past hours. Did he do something wrong? Or maybe he didn't said anything about him and Cynthia were gonna have lunch together. Maybe he'll get over it? Simon saw three dots appeared on the screen.
"Sorry i didn't had lunch with you earlier, i was with my friend cassie"
Cassie? Isn't that the girl who did some crimes at her old school? He's friends with her? Hm...
//
"Hey, did i do something wrong?".
Jackson was shocked to see Simon in his outside his apartment practically begging for an answer. "Huh, what are you talking about?", he asked. "You didn't talked to me for the past few days, you're ignoring me", he explained.
"You're acting weird simon, go home, it's already dark outside", the younger demanded. Simon looked at him with pleaded eyes. Jack sighed. "Just..go home..please", he said one more time.
//
It's the weekend. Jack's at work and cassie pays a visit. "Cassie? How did you know that I work here?", he asked. "Well, you always talk about working at a restaurant called happy platter", she said while looking at the menu. "By the way, did you make up with him?", she asked.
Jack looked at her. "Well, he went to my apartment last night and..I told him to go home cause he was acting weird..", he said while fidgeting with his clothes.
"You should really think about it ed, you're both adults but the other is already going up on his 30s, while you're still in your youth, trust me, I've been there", she responded in a serious tone.
Jack looked confused. Been there? "Did you have a relationship with a teacher?", he asked. Cassie chuckled. "Hm..that dude who's best friends with Professor Parr, yeah, him, Lucius Best", she said.
"Edward! Stop gossiping with the costumer", his manager said.
//
Jack saw Simon going to his office. He followed him, discreetly but he still saw him. "Jackson? What are you doing here?", he asked. Jack did said anything and just went to hug him. Simon was caught off guard by the sudden action. They broke apart. Jack didn't look at him. But simon kept looking at him.
"What...am i to you? What are we?".
