Work Text:
October 10th
“Whoa whoa whoa, wait a sec Luxie, we can’t do this.”
There were a lot of ways Lux thought Jinx would react to Lux being dragged into a closet as part of her ‘birthday celebrations’; that most assuredly was not one of them.
“Jinx?” She asked, cupping her girlfriend’s face “Is something wrong?”
“We can’t do this. It’s illegal”
What?
For a moment, Lux looked at her girlfriend in stunned silence, baffled at that statement.
“I’m an adult now, Luxie,” Jinx continued, “I can’t be dating a kid, it’s not right.”
“Jinx what are you talking about?” Lux cut in. “There’s provisions for this, Caitlyn’s not gonna kick down your door and…”
Lux trailed off, her words sparking a memory in her mind, her face scrunching up in thought.
“Luxie-” Jinx began, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.
“Wait a minute.” Lux cut her off, using her Team Leader voice that made Jinx shrink back a little “Is this because of that time you called Caitlyn a groomer for almost a year? When she kept dating Vi after she turned 18.
“I, uh I mean…” Jinx stammered out, unable to meet Lux’s stern gaze, before finally her expression fell and her gaze dropped to the floor, “yeah it is.”
“Jinx!”
“But Luxie, Flashlight, Pinky, light of my life, think about it!” Jinx pleaded, clasping Lux’s hands in her own “Vi’s gonna give me so much shit if we keep going. It’s just 9 days, and I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
Luix raised an eyebrow.
“You promise?”
“On my honour as a star guardian!” Jinx proclaimed, holding her hand over her heart. Lux thought for a moment. This clearly meant a lot to Jinx, and it was barely more than a week. She could make it that long, especially with the prospect of Jinx owing her at the end of it.
“Okay Jinx.” She finally said. “Nine days, no affection. But I'm charging interest.”
Just nine days, she thought to herself.
How hard could it be?
October 11th
Lux could do this. 9 days with nothing romantic from Jinx? Easy peasy. She’d lasted almost fifteen whole years without any of that before she and Jinx had started dating. Even if she’d woken up that morning with a chill in her bones, her bed cold from the empty space where Jinx normally snuck in every night. Even if the bathroom felt quiet and lonely as she brushed her teeth without the sounds of Jinx’s off-key singing in the shower.
She could definitely do this.
October 12th
Lux couldn’t do this. She absolutely could not last a whole ‘nother week of no affection from her Jinx. Sunday was the day they always made time for their study dates, which meant Lux studied while Jinx got bored and played footsie with her until Lux couldn’t resist her girlfriend any more and then ended up making out on Lux’s bed.
But today Jinx was studying. Not napping, not idly doodling in her notebook, just… studying. She’d never seen Jinx look so adorable, her face scrunched up as she concentrated on a history essay. Stars, she just wanted to spin Jinx around and kiss her senseless, but she couldn’t just kiss Jinx, it wouldn’t be right. But if she could make Jinx want to kiss her…
Tentatively, she nudged Jinx’s ankle with her own, the same signal she’d always receive whenever Jinx decided she was bored now and wanted to play with Lux. Her leg swayed from the impact, but Jinx gave no indication of having noticed. She tried again, and again no reaction. A third time and still nothing, and with a dramatic sigh Lux let her head collapse on the textbook she hadn’t read a word of in the past twenty minutes.
“You doing okay, kiddo?” Jinx asked her, and Lux could just hear the teasing smirk on her face. All she could muster was a dissatisfied groan into her papers.
October 13th
She was supposed to be waking up. She was supposed to be getting out of bed, getting washed and dressed and ready for school, same as every other Monday. Her alarm clock blinking in front of her face told her if she kept this pace up, she was going to be later than Jinx.
She sighed and buried her head in her pillow.
She missed Jinx.
October 14th
Today had just been the worst.
They’d run out of coffee in the morning, there’d been a sudden downpour as they were walking to school, and it felt like the world was going out of her way to make her stub her toe on things.
She felt like she was cursed, and in her grumpy, tired, soaking wet and kissless mind, she knew exactly what was to blame for her current misery.
October 15th
Lux was sure that whatever Professor Heimerdinger was talking about was incredibly important, something vital for her education that would most assuredly be on the test, but quite frankly she couldn’t bring herself to care in the slightest. She had far more important things to do.
Like stare at Jinx all day. That was a vital task, one that required every ounce of her attention. Not only was Jinx far too beautiful to not look at 24/7, there was so many details for Lux to keep notes on. How else was she going to keep track of the ways Jinx twirled her twintails between her fingers when she was bored (which was all the time)? Who else would catalogue all the little doodles Jinx made in her notebook instead of actually writing down anything important to the class?
And what else could she do but stare at Jinx’s mouth whenever she said anything, and miss how those lips felt against her own?
October 16th
There was a red rash starting to form on Lux’s hand, covering her entire palm, between her fingers, and tapering off into points on the back of her hand. She alternated between staring at Jinx and staring at it as she fought the urge to scratch at it.
She couldn’t help but notice how it was the exact same size and shape as the silhouette of Jinx’s hand whenever they’d hold hands, and that similar rashes were starting to form in all the other places Jinx normally liked to hold her.

“Oh Lux, I’m so sorry I came up with this stupid idea! I’ll never let you go without kisses for another day again!”
“Oh Jinx, I forgive you! Now kiss me!”
‘mmmphh mmmmm mmmpphhhh!’
“Hey Lux, are you in there?”
Lux leapt backwards like a startled cat as the door to the janitor’s closet flew open, her hands wedged firmly behind her back and a luminescent blush on her face.
“Jinx!” She exclaimed “What are you doing here?”
“Looking for you, ya’ big dummy.” Jinx replied with a lopsided grin “You pretty much sprinted out the door when the lunch bell rang, was wondering where you’d gone.”
She looked around for a moment, as a look of slow recognition came to her face.
“Hey, isn’t this the closet where we make out?” She asked Lux, whose face somehow managed to get even redder. “Were you trying to lure me in here?”
“Hahahahaha, yeah, you got me!” Lux let out a nervous and incredibly fake sounding laugh, which thank the stars Jinx seemed to buy. “All part of my plan.”
“Not gonna get me that easy, kiddo,” Jinx taunted. Lux punched the air in mock frustration with her left hand, her right still locked behind her back. “Come on, everyone’s waiting, didn’t wanna eat without you.”
“You go on ahead, I’ll be there in a minute.” Lux replied, and Jinx shrugged in response.
“Sure thing, Pinky.” She said as she turned around, “Just don’t take too long.”
Lux waved her off, her hand not dropping until she was sure Jinx was out of sight. When she was, she visibly drooped, her arms flopping down to her sides, before she lifted her right up to her face.
“Now,” she said to the hastily drawn face and red twintails drawn on her thumb and forefinger, “how am I gonna get you cleaned off in time?”

The countdown kept echoing in Lux’s head, keeping track of every second left until she could finally embrace her Jinx again. It rendered the alarm she’d set on her phone mostly redundant, but she didn’t care. She couldn’t risk any delay at all between midnight arriving and finally being able to do all the things she wanted to do to her adorable, beloved, infuriating girlfriend.
Her hands trembled as she wrote frantically in her notebook, She’d told everyone else she was going to her room to do some homework, but in truth, her notebook was full of hasty sketches of her and Jinx, locked in each other’s embrace, hugging and kissing and so much more explicit acts that she was going to have to tear out before she had to hand it in on Monday. Inside the margins were scribbled words, so many there was almost no space left in them for any more ink. Lux and Jinx’s names surrounded by flowers, every single ‘i’ in Jinx dotted with a tiny love heart, and between them all the name “Mrs Jinx Crownguard”.
Lux finally finished her latest sketch, and tore it out of the notebook sharply to admire it up close. Despite the frantic haste in her hands, there was a definite artistry to her work, and it was unmistakable what the sketch was depicting.
She only let herself admire it for a few moments though, and soon the drawing of Lux ripping open Jinx’s school shirt, buttons flying everywhere as she exposed her girlfriend’s bra, joined the pile of other, similar sketches next to her notebook. The pile stacked almost as high as Lux's desklap, and teetered precariously as her feverous drawing continued.
Turning back to her notebook, her pencil began its work again, the countdown still ringing in her head as she started sketching her next work. She had so many plans and ideas of what to do to Jinx, and only so much time to note them all down for future reference.

October 18th, 11:57 pm
“Come on… shoot faster… just a little bit of hmmm hmmm hmmm…” Jinx’s mumbled humming and the soft strokes of the brush running through her hair were the only sounds that could be heard in her room. It was a little bit of a ritual for her; the one of the only times she could actually sit still and quiet, focussed on the long task of brushing out all her hair so it didn’t get all tangled overnight. It was a lot of work, and had driven everyone except Lux to madness trying to help her with it (and even Lux she reckoned had gone slightly mad, but she just loved her too much to mention it), but to Jinx all the work was worth it. The way she felt when she finally got her twintails just right, the way Lux looked at her like she was the most beautiful girl in the world, that made the hours of work so worth it. Sure, Lux looked at her like she was the most beautiful girl in the world even when she was bleary-eyed and ruffled in the morning, but that just made her want to put in more effort for her girlfriend.
Speaking of Lux, it was almost midnight. Which meant it was almost her birthday, which meant soon she could finally embrace her girlfriend again. It had been hard sticking to that rule, but dammit Jinx was a woman of principles, at least when it suited her. Especially when those principles were built on a foundation of a year-long insult to her sister’s girlfriend that would be reversed on her in an instant if Vi found out.
She could hear a faint buzzing coming from another room in the house, like an alarm going off, and she glanced at the clock lying on her dresser next to her. Midnight. Perfect. She stood up, letting her half-brushed hair tumble down her back. Those remaining red tangles could wait. Her feet padded gently against the plush carpet, shielded from the October cold by her fuzzy shark slippers. She had it all planned out: she’d knock on Lux’s door, give her the most sultry and adult look she could and say something suave like: “hey, missed me?”. And Lux would leap into her arms and they’d hug and kiss and then Lux would pull her into her bedroom and they could do all the other coupley things that Jinx couldn’t think about for too long or she’d fluster herself. It was gonna be awesome.
Jinx’s plans came to a crashing halt when, mere steps away from her door, it slammed open with enough force that the draft from its wake staggered her. Standing in her doorframe was Lux, her My Melody pyjamas slightly ruffled, her eyes wide and almost manic.
“Uh…. hey?” Jinx said as she cracked a bemused smile, sounding far less sultry and confident than she’d planned and instead just sounding very confused, “Missed me tha- MMMMPPPPHHH!?”
Before Jinx could even finish her sentence, Lux lunged at her, grabbing her pyjama shirt so hard her knuckles went white, and yanked Jinx down into a searing kiss. Every conscious thought in her head blew away like smoke as she melted into the embrace, moaning in delight as she felt Lux’s lips shift against hers. It felt like Lux was almost growling against her as her tongue probed at her lips for entry, and Jinx gladly let her in, letting out another groan of pleasure as her tongue was overwhelmed by her girlfriend’s.
Lux's hands dropped Jinx’s shirt and instead moved up to tangle into her hair, pulling her even closer and undoing the last 45 minutes of Jinx’s hard work, a fact she couldn’t bring herself to care about in the slightest. She moaned into the kiss, one mirrored by Lux, as Jinx brought her own hands to rest on her girlfriend’s hips, squeezing lightly at the soft, squishy skin hidden only by fabric of Lux’s pyjamas. She took it as an invitation, stepping fully into her lover’s space, their torsos pressed together, separated only by two thin layers of cotton.
Oh how she’d missed this. The feeling of Lux in her arms, against her lips. It was like they were moulded to fit together, their bodies slotting together so wonderfully. She felt Lux tangle her hands in her hair tight enough to sting, and Jinx let out a whine, squeezing at Lux’s hips in retaliation as she did so.
Eventually though, the burning of their lungs forced them to part, the two girls panting as they rested their foreheads against each other, unwilling to separate any further.
“Nine days…” Lux said through heavy breaths as she stared deep into Jinx’s very soul. “You made me wait for nine days…”
There was something new to her tone, an undercurrent of something Jinx could only describe as menace. She swallowed nervously, and rubbed the back of her head as she let out a small sheepish chuckle.
“Well I, uh-”
And before she could explain anything, Lux shoved her back hard. Jinx let out a “Whuuuuf!” of surprise, and she staggered backwards. Her legs hit the bedframe she only then noticed Lux had positioned her in front of her, and with a cry of shock and a cavalcade of flailing arms, she collapsed onto the soft mattress, her impact scattering her small army of plushies like a wave.
“Nine days.” Lux repeated, and all Jinx could do was stammer and stare at her girlfriend, the girl she normally dwarfed now towering over her. She stepped forwards, so close into Jinx’s space she was straddling her, and despite the seeming gravity of the situation Jinx couldn’t help but emit a choked groan as her girlfriend put the full weight of her butt directly onto her lap. Her normally loose pyjama bottoms started feeling tighter and more constricting, as her blood began to flow down between her legs, stimulated by the wonderfully soft pressure on her nethers, the fabric slowly starting to tent under Lux’s weight.
“That’s how much you owe me, Jinx.” wait what. Lux didn’t give her any time to process, however, as she dug her fingers into the already crumpled Kuromi pyjamas again and pulled Jinx into another heartstopping kiss which saw her mind go blank yet again, her hands idly finding their way to rest on Lux’s hips. The kiss dragged out as long as they could let it, Lux tugging at Jinx’s bottom lip with her teeth as they broke apart for air.
Suddenly Jinx found herself on her back again, shoved down by Lux as she stared down at her, eyes almost glowing with lust.
“And I’m cashing it all in right now.” she said. Lux leaned back, and her smile only grew hungrier as she felt the tent in Jinx’s pyjamas press up against her butt.
When her hands came to the hem of her top, Jinx expected Lux to go slowly, to take her time dragging her shirt up her torso inch by inch, teasing Jinx with an impish glee like normal. She didn’t expect Lux to practically tear it off in a single motion, so fast it set her boobs bouncing, the garment hastily tossed across the room before she leant forwards, her arms braced on Jinx’s shoulders.
“With interest.”
Jinx’s facial expression very strongly resembled that of a beached fish, her eyes wide and her mouth gaped open in surprise. It only lasted for a second, as Lux crashed upon her like a wave, and the last thought that ran through Jinx’s brain before she got swept up in the tide was:
‘Stars, what kind of monster have I awoken?’
