"Don't let people hurt you like this, Merlin." He mumbled, raising his other arm and untying the neckerchief to get a better look at the damage. "People do this to claim others, don't let them."
Arthur finally looked up at Merlin's eyes, who was looking at the prince like he had grown a horn. Merlin finally seemed to break out of the brief shock.
"And that's because as a servant I belong to the kingdom, don't I? This is basically property damage." He was teasing and trying to get under Arthur's skin but his eyes were still glued to the prince's.
"No. You don't let no one own you, that's an order," Arthur chuckled, brushing his thumb against the bites that were all down to Merlin collarbone. "If you break it you are gonna be committing treason." -

Summary
A slightly tweaked re-write of BBC Merlin, with all my fav ships cause if i talk long enough anything can be canon. But keep in mind that the ships are not the only focal point so it won’t be all romance. This is bound to take an extraordinarily long time as i am starting this at the same time as i am starting my GCSE’s so well see what happens. Updates will more than likely be irregular but I’ll try to keep it to like a monthly schedule.

Arthur looked nervous, and Merlin wanted to reassure him, thank him, drop to his knees and pledge an oath of loyalty as if Arthur hadn’t had one from him all along, but he couldn’t even move.
“Merlin?” Arthur asked, suddenly much closer to him. He said something else, but Merlin couldn’t hear it. He was untethered, unable to find himself.
Arthur’s hands landed on his shoulders, and Merlin inhaled sharply, suddenly feeling his feet on the ground, his sleeves on his wrists, the tears on his cheeks.
“You with me?” Arthur asked.
“Always,” Merlin said.

Summary

“Well, this is the game. It is remarkably simple. You just have to steal Merlin’s neckerchief.” Immediately, complaints erupted from the knights.
“The neckerchief? He always wears it!”
“How are we supposed to steal it?”
“Merlin never takes it off for some reason — no way I’m going to risk my life and find out why!”
“Silence!” Arthur stared at the group, incredulous. “My knights, the most feared in the five realms, are terrified of my manservant?” They hung their heads in shame. “Even a squire probably could nick it off the idiot!”
“Is the squire still alive?” said a knight under his breath. Around him, his fellow brethren nodded their agreement, avoiding Arthur’s eye as he snorted.
“Merlin can be scary, Sire,” tried Lancelot. Arthur still looked like he seriously disagreed with the statement but after seeing the effect one pathetic coward had on a score of knights, he was forced to accept that yes, the Knights of Camelot feared Merlin the Buffoon.
Or 5 times Arthur gets blindsided by Merlin's ingenuity to stop the heists involving his neckerchief and 1 time Merlin gives up.

If Merlin hadn’t been hiding from Gaius and his dirty leech tank, then he never would have been out on an early morning trek through the woods. And if Gwaine hadn’t been looking for a way out of training, then he wouldn’t have been tempted to come with the manservant on his hunt for herbs. In short, none of the morning’s events should have happened, but it was too late for wishful thinking.
Merlin and Gwaine get jumped by some mercenaries, Gwaine watches as Merlin gets tortured, and Merlin accidentally puts on a talent show for Gwaine while saving their butts. Pretty standard stuff. I didn't write it as slash, but you can imagine.
