Summary
Set during World War II. Arthur is sent to the front lines to fight for Britain, while Merlin is left behind, struggling to cope with the absence of his best friend. Seeking to give Arthur some comfort, Merlin begins to send him pieces of a story, which tells of a legendary King and his devoted manservant.
Through their letters, Arthur and Merlin grow closer, and perhaps begin to discover feelings that they could not put into words before. But will Arthur make it through the war? And what will happen if he does?

This is a short fanfic I wrote, my very first one to be precise, that I have specifically written as inspired by a friend. What would happen to the body if the heart stopped for a minute, but the consciousness and heart was revived? What would happen if one lung was removed entirely, and the body was forced to rely on a single source of air? What if a tonic implanted toxins in the bloodstream, but not enough to kill, and the test subject survived, all while under the guise of ordinary living? What in the body causes these effects? What was connected to what, and how?
Without clear, absolute answers, Mira would not rest.
