Summary
In a world still healing from the scars of the Hundred Year War, peace is fragile—and beneath it, tension brews between the nations.
Amidst this Cold War, Fire Lord Zuko rules with a steady hand and heart—devoted to his now-pregnant wife, Mai, and the fragile peace they’ve built. Katara, meanwhile, pours herself into diplomacy and ambition—straining an already fragile relationship with Aang.
However, when a mysterious girl named Izumi arrives claiming to be from the future, all they thought they knew is shattered—especially when she warns of a war in twenty-five years with a supposed "Bloodbending Queen" at its centre.
And, most shockingly, the world reels when Izumi reveals another unexpected truth: in the future, it's not the Avatar who is the leader of the resistance against the Bloodbending Queen...but rather Fire Lord Zuko and Fire Lady Katara, married and united despite all odds.
As tensions mount, Zuko and Katara must confront not only the looming threat but also deeper forces at work: an ancient curse, entangled truths they fear to uncover, and a love powerful enough to rewrite time itself.

Summary
Katara had been so sure of her plan to liberate the prison rig. How was she to know how efficiently the guards would respond to an uprising? Zuko had been positive that his best course of action was to travel separate from his Uncle. What else was he supposed to do when he came across a person from his past? Sometimes, through all the doubt, two people collide. Eventual Zutara.
This is both a Canon Related and Canon Divergent, reimagined ATLA story. Katara joins Zuko in his journey of self-discovery across the Earth Kingdom as personalities clash and beliefs are questioned. Familiar allies and enemies await them along the way.
Ripple effects of having Katara absent from the majority of 'Book 1: Water,' are seen once Katara and Zuko meet up with the Gaang later on in the story. 'Book 1: Water' occurs mainly in the flashbacks of this story as Chapter 1 picks up close to the start of 'Book 2: Earth.'
The plot of the story has now reached the allied invasion of the Fire Nation Capital City. The scene is set for Zuko's confrontation with his Father, Ozai.

Despite what Zuko's father used to say, he was the lucky one in the family, wasn't he? The one his dad didn't actually care about. Katara deserves more and she knows it. For two years she has been living at the Southern Air Temple helping Aang to bring back the Air Nation, but she feels parts of herself slipping away. Already, people are forgetting what she has sacraficed, her culture is moving on without her, and her friends have all found peace with their roles in this new world but she hasn't. Katara decides she needs to find herself again which prompts her to begin traveling the world and writing letters to her friends that she's speant too much time without. She is drawn to a certain firebender and the memories surrounding him, what will she find when she gives in to these thoughts?
Post-cannon story with some cannon events retold from Katara's perspective, slight cannon divergence (the events of the show takes place over 3 years, not 6 months), and an extreme slowburn. I mostly just was justice for my girl Katara and what happened to her post-cannon.

Summary
It was a brilliant plan, all things considered.
On paper and in the eyes of the public, they were a charming if oddly mismatched couple who somehow found love despite their differences. A fairy tale come to life, sighed the more romantic members of Ba Sing Se society.
So it was almost a shame that Katara's courtship with Prince Zuko was ultimately nothing more than an act - otherwise, they might have been a perfect match, if not the perfect partners in crime.
