Summary
Warlord!Jaskier after setting about creating a world for witchers to be equally treated is forced to confront the fact that his vision did not quite come to fruition.
A nasty rumour about him conquering the continent because a witcher spurned his attentions has cause some misunderstandings. Such misunderstandings lead to the kings he has conquered giving him gifts of witchers that they scour their kingdoms for.
Our favourite witcher is given as a gift, and Warlord!Jaskier must be a force of change for this man who he has conquered the continent for.

There’s a steadiness to Geralt that centers Jaskier, a sturdiness and a patience that resonates with Jaskier’s energy like two tuning forks suddenly chiming in sync. He fits with Geralt, in a way that Jaskier has never fit anywhere.
And for all that Geralt may occasionally tell him to shut up or may roll his eyes or may urge Roach farther up the road to get some distance, Jaskier can be himself around the witcher. Jaskier chatters and sings and composes out loud and flirts and jokes, and Geralt takes it all in stride.
He may not always like what Jaskier does, but he never seems to expect Jaskier to be anything other than what he is.
It’s addicting, that sort of acceptance.
With each year, he grows more and more terrified of losing it.

Summary
There aren’t many things that will incapacitate a witcher for long, but a severe head injury will do it. After a hunt gone terribly wrong, Geralt discovers that the physical recovery is difficult, but more so is the boredom that goes along with it. While unable to survive on the Path, Geralt takes the opportunity to challenge himself in new ways, attending a wide variety of the classes offered at Oxenfurt university, and in the process heals more than just his head injury.

The bard doesn’t look like he’s hurt, he can’t see the blood, just smell it. It clings to Jaskier, beckons Geralt to take a look, to save what’s left to save. But the troubadour seems fine, his face distorted in discomfort which can stem from standing in the waters of a spring river for two long.

He and Geralt work things out, but the bard feels out of sorts again when Yennefer turns up and climbs one of the towers to get drunk alone one night. Geralt finds him, of course, not that Jaskier believes it’s actually him. And so, he pours his heart out to a hallucination and his witcher finds out exactly why his bard has been avoiding him.
