Summary
When Paul enters the study, Darry is drinking beside the fireplace, and that's what he focuses on first as he shuts the wooden doors behind him. "You've been drinking a lot lately."
"I think I earned it," Darry replies, voice even, cool. That's a good indicator of where he is and Paul takes the time to take in the study. It's very Darry: neat, orderly. Papers in the right places, clipped and put together. There's a dull fire going, books on the shelves, the carpets arranged neatly, the chairs put exactly in the correct place. Nothing out of order except, well, Darry.
Paul crosses over the floor, unbuttoning his shirt, loosening his tie. Darry's scent mingles well with the cologne and the faint woodsmoke. There are still bits of Darry's father and mother in the room: his mother's favorite glass is in his hand, the Cognac he's drinking is his father's. "Did you?"
An annoyed sigh leaves Darry, and he looks at Paul, eyes glinting, sharp. "Paul, I don't want to play games, tonight. Not now. You— you know what day it is."
Paul speaks to his husband. It's a negotiation, as all things are in life.

Summary
Darry takes the papers, trying to steady his breathing, trying to think around his feelings of betrayal, of anger, of confusion. "How long will it take to notify?"
"It will be done by the end of the day. Possibly, the hour," Mrs. Crenshaw says, her voice thinner than ever.
Darry confirms who his brother's father actually is. A phone rings in Philly.
