Summary
“Bruce really does love his black haired kids,” Roy mentioned offhand, passing Jason the photo on his phone so that he could see the context. "Whenever I see you all lined up like this, I just can’t believe how similar you look.”
“Haha, yeah, that’s Bruce for you.” And Jason was clearly smiling, but Roy could tell that it didn’t quite meet his eyes. “There’s definitely a type.”
In other words, 5 times Roy doesn’t realize Jason dyes his hair, and 1 time that he does. This fic is in response to Jason’s original red haired character design.

He wasn't bitter. Not at all.
It wasn't the fact that Bruce had immediately adopted Jason. It wasn't the fact that Dick was still his ward and not his legal son.
It wasn't that the boy seemed to have a better relationship with Bruce than he does, than he ever had.
It wasn't even that Jason had taken his place after he left.
It wasn’t that Bruce was having Jason run around in his costume with his name.Or
In which Dick is mad at Bruce and feels bad for Jason. -

Summary
Bruce wasn't expecting to see Batman at his door. He also wasn't expecting him to shove a lashing redheaded boy his way and grimly state:
"Stole tires"
Only two words, yet Bruce stilled, bound by ice-cold terror.
Batman places his big hand on the boys scrawny shoulder and persistently guides him forward, to Bruce. Before Wayne can process this statement and make up a response, Batman dissolves into shadows.
They're gonna have a talk about dropping off random kids by his door.
The child and he observe each other for one long moment. Bruce sees tired, but feisty blue eyes, haggard face..
The kid looks so…

Summary
"What's it, Dickie?" Jay asks him, unconcerned as he counts up the money. His red roots have been growing back out for a while, though it's kind of hard to see under all the grime.
Dick thinks dyeing it is dumb. Jay says it's necessary for stealth, and that black hair is way more common. Dick still thinks it's dumb, since that's what he is for, so Jay definitely doesn't need it.
"Grow your hair out."
Jay snorts. "You're obsessed."

Summary
After watching the fight between Batman and Clayface, Jason is torn. Bruce has no reason to lie over the fact that he believed Jason knew that Bruce loved him, but Jason didn't know that. It made him wonder if his other family might...care. He finds his way across the bridge to Bludhaven, while also making inroads into Gotham's crime underground as the Red Hood.
In Bludhaven he meets a damaged Supergirl and finds himself accidentally taking on the identity of Flamebird, when Superman comes to see her. And, after that, well, certainly it wouldn't hurt to look out for Nightwing as Flamebird, right? If only a jealous Wally West wasn't SURE that Flamebird was trying to make a play for his man and going to make sure that Flamebird stayed FAR away from Nightwing.

Summary
Jason was not a good person.
It was actually more accurate to say that Gotham didn't let good people survive. Being a good person, especially if honest, in Gotham was the best way to get killed or end up in Black Gate. In Park Row, being a good person was synonymous with being stupid, and stupid people ended up with cement shoes at the bottom of the river or pieces in plastic bags.
Red Hood was born out of necessity, nothing more than a simple red hoodie with a handkerchief tied to his face. It was so easy to pretend to mess with the bigger gangs and other lone criminals, to make them believe that there was even a much bigger and more organized gang behind it while the anonymous, little Jason Todd put sweatshirt and handkerchief in his backpack and went about making a living for another day.
So, with that premise, Jason had no chance of getting on that skimpy list of good people.
Absolutely not.
