La guerre contre l’empire Talsh a laissé des marques et des cicatrices indélébiles sur plusieurs milliers de vies. Alika fut l’une de ces victimes. Pour guérir et faire la paix avec elle-même, Balsa a décidé de l’emmener à Kanbal et de la laisser aux bons soins de Tante Yuka.Au fils des années, Alika choisit définitivement de s’établir à Kanbal et d’y vivre, changeant plusieurs choses dans la société Kanbalese, notamment le rôle des femmes auprès de la hiérarchie du roi. Découvrant qu’une autre fille possède un don avec les arts martiaux et le maniement de la lance, elle décide d’en faire son apprentie et de lui transmettre son savoir.
C’est un nouveau départ pour elle avec de nouveaux amis, de nouveaux buts. Peut-être même y trouvera-t-elle l’amour ?
