And then it was 2022, and she was now known as Yeongi in this third—and hopefully last—life of hers.

About 1,500 years ago, in King Jinheung's twelfth year, Silla was the smallest and weakest of the three kingdoms. The young King Jinheung saw his life at risk because his sovereignty was unstable, so he lived in hiding. Queen Jiso, in her role as regent, gathered good-looking men to strengthen Silla's future and the throne: Hwarang.
But it was precisely at that time that the Japanese king, Tennō Soga no Iname, took notice of the crumbling kingdom and sent his best fighter to turn Silla's power shift in Japan's favour and expand the influence of the Soga dynasty: the young samurai Miyu.
