Castiel Novak knows a thing or two about faith healers and although Dean would normally never dream of dragging a civilian along on a case, he could really use Cas' expertise here. Besides, with Sammy off at Stanford and John barking orders at him from three states away, Dean is pretty fucking lonely. And Castiel, with his kind eyes and his uncanny ability to get under Dean's skin in all the best ways, fits into the Impala's passenger seat just right.
Until, of course, it all comes crushing down around them.

Dean didn’t wait for the man to write anything else, storming out of the room and down the stairs. He didn’t stop at the information desk, ignoring Barbara calling his name as he headed for the exit. Strong fingers wrapped around his wrist. He twisted around, breaking the hold and glaring at the man.
“Don’t fucking touch me.”
The man held up his hands. Amusement made his eyes brighter.
“Jason,” Barbara said as she wheeled over to them. “I told you to be gentle. Not bulldoze him.”
Jason, apparently, gave her the finger.
She snorted. “Dean, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to freak you out. Jason is my boyfriend’s little brother.”
Jason stiffened at the words and signed furiously at Barbara. She concentrated on what he was saying before rolling her eyes.
“Jason is not my boyfriend’s little brother. He is completely unrelated to my boyfriend and his whole family. He only puts up with me because I provide him with int—” she cut herself off. “Gossip.”
Jason crossed his arms like he was done with the conversation.

He gets the job almost immediately despite his lack of farm experience. I mean, he seriously sucked. He also finds out that he's got to live on the farm with Castiel and Charlie.
Dean finds himself at a cross roads. He notices a strange feeling he gets from his boss, and soon figures out that it's because he's attracted to him. Dean being brought up by John Winchester, he's got a mental state of needing to stay manly, and being attracted to another man makes him freak out.
Castiel is Catholic. He'd known about his attraction to men from a young age, but no matter what, he still tries to pray that one day he'll find a woman that he's attracted to and will settle down with.Both men create distance between themselves to avoid these feelings coming to light, both battling with the thoughts of what they could do to each other.
