"Oh, come on, Vingegaard, don't play innocent! We're in journalism school, everyone saw the articles. You think we didn't recognize you in the picture? But now we understand how you make your money."
"What are you talking about? What kind of nonsense are you making up now?"
He shoves the screen in front of Jonas's eyes. Jonas almost chokes on his own saliva, gasping in surprise.

War...
For as long as Jonas can remember, war has been part of his life. The war between the Kingdom of Ardonyria and the Kingdom of Gelindel had already broken out when Jonas was born. War has cradled Jonas' life from an early age, formed and trained for war since Jonas was old enough to walk.
“You will make your father proud. You'll follow in his footsteps and be an even greater man than he was. "
“Why. .. why are you doing this?” spits Jonas, his voice trembling. « Why do you treat me like this? Why... why don't you treat me like any other prisoner! “
“Jonas...” Tadej murmurs softly, his words like flames in the cold, calm, reassuring, “I don't want to hurt you, I promise, I just want to help you, please don't force me to hurt you.”
“Why,” Jonas repeats, his voice breaking. “You should hate me... you should kill me! Why don't you! Why do you insist on doing this? I'm not worth it!”
“When was the last time you had a choice? “ asks Tadej in a soft but firm voice.

Tadej doesn’t really know that means, what his words could possibly be referring to, but Jonas does that a lot: say things that are too out-of-nowhere or baffling for Tadej to understand. Maybe it’s a difference in English level but Tadej doesn’t think he’s particularly bad. And Jonas isn’t exactly stellar, either.
“What does that have to do with this?” Tadej asks, gravely serious. This, as in: making out by the fire escape of Visma’s hotel, his body pressed against Jonas in a shameless way, pinning him on the brick wall, trying to communicate that his boner needs attention. And he knows he’s being sleazy and boyish and kinda stupid and reckless because it’s still bright out and they can easily be spotted if someone looks past the Visma mechanic’s truck
