Jesus fuck. Feyd rolls his eyes impatiently.
“You want someone else to fuck you?” He asks, tearing at the stubborn hangnail. It rips suddenly, skin stinging, bright blood welling from the cut. Feyd licks at it, sucking on his skin.
“I don’t want anyone to fuck me,” Paul says firmly, cheeks waxen. Freckles standing out starkly on his pale skin.
Feyd wonders how old he actually is. Probably closer to his age than he initially thought. Twenty maybe. Feyd’s teeth pinch the broken skin in his mouth sharply.
“That’s not how it works here,” he says, letting his bloody thumb drop. “Someone’s getting fucked.”

Unfortunately for him, events unfold in a different direction, leaving him humiliated and forced to make amends to his rival. As per the rules of kanly, he must offer a gift of great value to the Duke.
Said gift, his rather disappointing nephew in fact, is delivered to house Atreides only to be received by the Na-Duke instead. And so, two boys close in age if not in character, end up irrevocably tied to one another. As the court schemes and history unfolds, a young love starts to blossom under the most trying of circumstances. Events, however, seek to prove if love alone is to be enough.

“The Harkonnen animal has been woken from his induced comatose state.” Ah, he thinks. So the time is upon us at last. The Suk Doctor determines he is finally healed enough for a difficult conversation; what I hope is a conversation. If that’s possible. Paul notes his friend’s gritted teeth, and his measured but heavy breaths. He knows Gurney still desires to see the new Baron Harkonnen slaughtered and his body thrown to the desert like his uncle and brother. But Paul saw further than his loyal friend. The ‘Harkonnen animal’ is more useful alive… provided he cooperates.
“I shall see him at once,” Paul says. But as Gurney opens his mouth to argue, he adds, “Thank you, Gurney Halleck. You are dismissed. Get some rest, the days are long here.” Gurney nods once with a huff and leaves Paul. He has learned to trust Paul’s sight and judgment for the most part, but old habits die hard. He still sees himself as the young duke’s protector, as the child he trained on Caladan. Paul watches his Warmaster set off back into the palace until he can no longer see the man. Paul steals one more look at Arrakeen before entering the building himself.
