When the mage had threatened to burn Jaskier’s fingers a small part of him wanted to tell him everything. Geralt had left him after all, shattered his heart and left him alone with no supplies. Spilling what secrets he knew probably would have hurt less. But he couldn’t do that to the princess. He had met her a few times over the years and no matter how things stood between himself and Geralt, he wouldn’t do anything to endanger her.

Jaskier was standing on a balcony overlooking the Witcher’s below spar. He couldn’t deny that he enjoyed watching the show, he was only human after all and they were all very attractive, but that wasn’t the main reason he was out here.
He was writing a new song for the wolf Witchers, a song of their bravery, their love of one another, their dedication to the path. What better inspiration than to watch them as he wrote.

After the Fire mage, after Yennefer, after prison, after Geralt and finally after the Deathless Mother, Jaskier was done.
Ciri was safe, for now.
Yennefer had her chaos back.
Geralt…Geralt had suffered the loss of far too many brothers, too many friends, but he had Ciri. He had Yen. He even had Jaskier, if he still wanted him now that his help was no longer required.
Jaskier wanted nothing more than to withdraw back to his room, get blackout drunk, and forget the nightmare his life had recently become.

“You can do what pleases you otherwise.” Geralt watches the expressions pass over Jaskier’s face. “Except bathe. You’re saving for new boots, aren’t you? I’ll bring back coin for a bath once the contract is done.”
“I can have anyone? Truly?”
Geralt goes after a contract alone. Jaskier can do anything he wants while Geralt is away, with only two exceptions. (Do not need to have read Part 1)

Jaskier hadn’t awoken yet for three days—three long days where Geralt painstakingly fed him, dripped water into his mouth, wiped him down with damp cloths, all while Jaskier lay deeply unconscious. Sometimes he roused—only briefly, and he was never lucid enough to know where he was. Not lucid enough to know that Geralt had pulled him from the Nilfgaardian dungeon, that it was Geralt who tended to his wounds.
