"Mama..." The little girl was standing on the threshold of the room, holding the door with shaking fingers. Her silhouette was illuminated by a pair of wraith butterflies that lingered around her.
"What are you doing awake?" He was fully awake and sat on the bed now, and Hua Cheng had turned over his back to watch their daughter.
"Mama... Baba... I had a bad dream." She whimpered.

You’re only so weak because of me, anyway, he thought guiltily. This washed-out specter was a far cry from the ghost who easily destroyed seal after seal within the walls of Yong’an’s Royal Palace.

This is a work that I came up with at 3 AM from Andy’s work where they posted a WIP pic of our dear Huahua and Dianxia. They asked what would the two be saying to one another, and if Lian was teasing them, or vice versa, or both. I said that it looked like Xie Lian would say “Gege will take care of you,” and it has thus spiraled into me making a full fledged fic based solely on their art with permission.
This fanfic was created with one protein shake, one red bull, and blasting 红绝, Hóng Jué at like 90% volume (thus annoying my cat). I rarely post my fanfics to the public, because of my worry about reception from fandom. You may not see others listed, as I primarily share original work instead. So if you came for more Huahua, I apologize for the lack of it.
