"You again," Shen Qingqiu says, his tone accusatory. He holds his hand to his chest like Liu Qingge might try to grab it back. "Has Qian Cao Peak really become so overwhelmed that they're now recruiting from Bai Zhan?"
Liu Qingge leans back in his seat, casual, keeping himself relaxed. He's not ready to have this conversation, but putting it off won't make it better and letting someone else explain hadn't sat well with him. Liu Qingge wouldn't take back what he did — doesn't think not doing what he did was really a choice he could have made, when the other option would have been to carry Shen Qingqiu's corpse home instead — but that doesn't change the fact that this is, technically, something Liu Qingge has done to Shen Qingqiu.
The rescue went well, all things considered, but it has some unintended side effects.

Will’s hands were much softer than his, and certainly not as calloused, but there were tiny scars from when Will got heat blisters from over-using his healing powers. Nico had not neglected to tell Will what a hypocrite he was when Will told Nico what they were. Will’s hands were also a bit clammy, and if Nico was honest it was a tad too warm, but he didn't mind.
