Is it way too obvious what he and Ren were getting up to? Tango tries to swat the fire burning extra high on the tip of his tail. Impulse, who’s sitting up in the dirt, tilts his head to one side. Unblinking. Geez, dude… Get a hobby. The black horns curling from his head look like they could seriously stab a guy in the stomach and toss him at a wall with a bang.
“Are… you leaving?”
“No, we’re not- we’re not!”
Pixels Tango is a blaze who patrols his turf before dawn every day. Pixels Impulse is a trauma survivor the whole server knows can’t be left alone to sleep. Compared to the life and beauty upstairs and the electric nature of Decked Out, this was empty. Lonely. “I was thinking something closer to dinner?”

"That's... complicated," Scott swallowed the lump in his throat.

It’s almost always dumb luck that gets Jimmy killed first every single time, not a lack of skill. He might not be the best fighter, but he’s not weak. He’s the butt of every joke, but he’s not dumb. He knows that everyone might think he is, but he knows that he’s not. In all honesty, it’s not the worst thing ever; Jimmy can deal with the teasing and insults. Let them underestimate him. One day, he’ll win and then they’ll all see.
What Jimmy means to say by all this is that despite what people might think about him, he’s smart. He’s observant. He knows how to read people. He sees things that a lot of people disregard.
He sees a lot of things about his bad boys that others don’t.

While this bars them from interacting with the uninfected outside of special circumstances, it allows them to use their powers to deliver mail across distances and locations that would be too dangerous for the uninfected to travel. Traveling, meanwhile, allows them to never stay in one place long enough for the feelings to catch up.

And usually, Joel would’ve just turned around and found somewhere else, maybe go for a walk down the street and back, but the stranger was crying. And staring up at Joel with wide eyes. And he supposed it felt a bit awkward, just leaving him out here, without even saying hello, offering his condolences. Sure, Joel could be a dick at times, but he wasn’t an asshole.
He sat down next to the stranger, offering him a polite smile. “Lovely night, innit?” he greeted, only to be met with silence. After a second, he cleared his throat. “You, uh, here for the funeral, then?”
The stranger stared at him, his eyes rimmed red.
