He doesn’t know how to explain to the man he wants in a way he shouldn’t, that being compared to him feels like filleting his very soul.
Damian wasn’t built to be a hero.

A mistake that leaves bodies on the ground and ends with a reaffirmation of his goodness is the last straw on the camels back. That’s all it takes for Damian to finally snap.

Damian is aware that his beloved Richard is considered rather an attractive specimen and that there will inevitably be more than a few contenders for Grayson's hand.
Damian was however totally blindsided and totally disgusted to discover just how willing and open people are to share with the entire world their perverted fantasies about Nightwing and/or Richard Grayson on the internet. There is at least one entire website dedicated to "appreciating" Nightwing's posterior and posting photographs of it. (Bonus if it's revealed that Tim, Jason, Dick himself, a rogue or two, and/or someone else in their circle has provided some of the pics in the past.)
Not to mention this appalling new thing called "real person fanfiction" where people write the most depraved (and usually extremely implausible) scenarios under the guise of "fiction."
In any case, Damian is not going to take this discovery sitting down.

To every rule, there's an exception. To every line in the sand, there's someone who will toe it. For every vigilante, there is a villain. For every member of the family, there's someone on The List.
It feels like there's something lodged in his throat when Damian takes the pen and tries to decide what to write on the sheet. Part of it is probably that Dick was so predictable in his choice. Part of it is that feels anxious and squirmy inside to be included in this at all. He doesn't want to write a villain on this list. He wants to write a hero. Someone they'd all judge him for.

Jason wasn’t as blind as Dick was. He saw how Dami looked at the Golden Boy, saw how she sent him the signs and saw how the idiot missed them every single time. Either he didn’t feel the same way (which was unlikely, he wasn’t that subtle), or he was a slowpoke.
In any case, if Dickwad wasn’t going to make a move, Jason was all too willing to snatch his opportunity.
