Swerve hated to tell this story, but it was the only one the gossips at the bar wanted to hear. The irony. Swerve sucked up his discomfort because he’d rather have them laugh than be ignored again. He chuckled and smiled through their teasing remarks, as if he didn’t know he didn’t have a chance. It the world's most embarrassing crush, and he was sick of it. If only Skids had gotten the memo and stopped being Skids around him, maybe then Swerve could move on and forget about him.
And maybe, they could focus on something else. Like the fact OverLord was in the bottom of their ship and someone might be trying to start a coup.
