Summary
Tenzo woke alone, eyes slowly blinking open as he got his bearings together. He fluttered bleary eyes open, slowly coming to an awareness of his surroundings. A sudden burst of warm sunlight fell on his face as the curtains parted, and he groaned, flinging one arm around his face at the brightness. Hearing a chuckle, Tenzo slowly peeked one eye open to stare at his lover who had been the source of the sound.
“Good Morning,” Gai greeted with a smile, voice pitched just a little lower than usual in awareness of his lover's tired state. “How are you doing this fine day?”
Tenzo scowled, pouting at the lack of cuddle time he was hoping to have with Gai. “What I wanted was sleep,” he groused out, stubbornly closing his eyes and turning away from Gai. Gai didn’t care about Tenzo’s words. He instead approached his lover and ran a hand over Tenzo’s hair, caressing the brown locks softly. The action was doing wonders to wake him up, and Tenzo sighed, realizing it was futile to try to sleep.
“I’d like to go to our garden,” Gai said softly.

Summary
Wearied medic Sakura is just trying to survive the civil war. Her task seems impossible to accomplish when her home village is razed by the enemy and she is taken as their captive to serve as a dutiful healer. At least she still has her head.
All she has to do now is keep it down and stay inconspicuous. But the dark, horrible eye of the violent commander is threatening her tenuous hold on life — and sanity.
