Who knows what's best for you? Surely not the people that have known you the longest. Not the people who don't live in the same home as you. But definitely not someone who isn't you. Especially not the one person who has always hated you the most. No one can really say for sure looking from the outside whether a situation is abuse or genuine concern. You never know until you know, but which is worse? Physical, or mental? Sometimes a person would rather be hit than realize they've been manipulated. It's easier to heal from one. Easier to leave.
