Summary
Eddie’s eyes snap open, his vision blurry and disoriented as he registers the unmistakable form of a toddler sitting on his sternum. His cheeks are round, blonde curls a mess and a pacifier is dangling half out of his mouth.
The kid is also patting his face like a bongo drum.
“Hi,” the child says, grinning wildly, just before the pacifier drops directly onto Eddie’s cheek.
He sits up with a jolt, instinct taking over and the kid topples sideways with a giggle, landing in the space beside him on the bed.
“What the fuck?” Eddie mutters, fully awake and adrenaline rising as he looks up and sees Buck… who is lying casually on the other side of the bed cradling another child.
“Don’t swear,” Buck says absently, like he’s not currently holding an unknown child.
“Don’t… did you just say don’t swear? Who the hell—” Eddie stammers, his eyes darting between the two kids and Buck.
“It’s us,” Buck says, like that explains anything, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Or; Eddie makes a wish by accident and it comes true. So he and Buck spends the day with their younger selves aging up three years every time they falls asleep.

“And who's better?” Buck raises his eyebrows, “You?”
It’s Eddie’s turn to narrow his eyes, “Damn right I am.” He blinks, the words said before he has time to think.

Standing there, looking at Eddie with a grumpy expression and zero recognition in his eyes. Not like Eddie. Eddie remembered everything about the guy from when they were younger. Eight years had been a long time not to see someone, but those blue eyes were exactly the same and the birthmark was almost brighter and prettier than it had been the first time he’d seen it. And, Jesus, how could Eddie not stare at those legs? They were more muscular than they had been when Eddie was 19 and Buck (because apparently he wasn’t Evan anymore) was 18.

Eddie and Shannon Diaz, happily divorced and co-parenting their son Christopher, never told anyone, literally anyone, that technically, biologically, Christopher wasn't Eddie's son.
