Al-Haitham feels his lips pull up into a smile.
In retrospect, starting a philosophical argument in the margins of an ancient poetry book might be one of the best ideas Al-Haitham has ever had.

“Urgh,” Ryuji made, a sound that didn't need to be articulated out loud but was anyway. “Here he comes again.”
“It's like he's actively seeking you out,” Makoto added, annoyance in her voice.
Akira fought the butterflies down that were fluttering somewhere in the pit of his stomach, threatening to come up and flower his words.
“Yeah, I don't know what his problem is, honestly,” he managed to get out, lips twitching as he caught Goro's eyes on him.
Always on him.
“Ah, the Phantom Thieves,” Goro Akechi greeted them with a saccharine smile. “Come to steal from the library now?” He gave Akira a sharp smirk as he aimed his next words directly at him. “That might be the only way you get through this semester.”
Or: Akira Kurusu is a normal college student. He goes to classes, hangs out with his friends, and gets regularly insulted in public scenes by his secret boyfriend.
