Fate is also something we are all familiar with. A kind of destiny that controls the world, forcing predetermined effects to happen.
In the Six-Faced world, the strength of one's destiny varies. Some may be destined to become great heroes, while others might die at the drop of a hat. Such is the fate of one Rudeus Greyrat, one who holds a strong fate.
Yet even then, fate can be unwoven. Like a piece of fabric coming apart, destiny, too, can be unraveled.
Unlike most timelines, where the NEET who was to be reincarnated as Rudeus Greyrat was jerking off the day he was kicked from his house, this timeline is a bit different.
Instead, he was stuffing his face with ramen noodles and didn't have time to jerk off at all. That slight addition of weight caused him to run just a bit slower. Though he still saved the three kids from dying, he himself died just a second later than he normally would have. Causing him to not be reincarnated as Rudeus Greyrat.
Instead, he was reborn as someone long since forgotten.

Ghost supposes that many would probably say that they get better. They do get better, don’t they? Yes, they do. Things change, and they are better. The Infection is gone, and Hollow is safe, and Hornet is happy, and so Ghost is fine. Perhaps they are selfish, and they mourn a dying world that they can never return to, and they are more alone than ever before, but they’ll get over it.
…And it’s not as if anyone will notice if they don’t.
