Cid is living his best life. He has a newly bought house that he enjoys renovating over the weekend, he has a good job as a Professor at the local University which he adores doing, and, of course, he has his boyfriend, who he wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with.
There is only one problem.
He is a werewolf and he hasn't found a way to tell Clive the truth yet.
This turns out to be less of a problem than he originally anticipates.

Summary
He sees the scar on his cheek that swallows half his face with ruined skin. The voice doesn't have to say anything he doesn't already know this time, and he goes to look away—
—only for the rough touch of a hand to snap onto his jaw, preventing the movement. Cid is behind him, as he has been the whole time and naturally their gazes meet in the mirror. It's different from looking face-to-face, to watch his own features shift and melt slightly under the intensity of his scrutinising, calculating expression.
"Cid—" he starts to say, but stops when that hand holding his chin squeezes imperceivably harder. A warning. Clive's heart flips in his chest.
"I did not spend my time," Cid says slowly, "making a mirror big enough to capture your entire visage just to watch you look away."

Or, Cid builds a vanity complete with a mirror with one singular purpose.
