Summary
'It was also regrettable that Napoleon was unrelentingly infatuated with his friend. Aware of Peril’s doubtless heterosexuality, he had railed against his thoughts, desperately trying to shake them from his mind as a dog would fleas. When Napoleon had attempted to test the waters in the past, discussing his escapades with other men, he had been met by a bristling silence which further confirmed that Ilya was (without a doubt) uninterested in men. It certainly hadn’t occurred to him that the silence was a carefully chosen act of self-preservation from the Russian.'
Napoleon Solo lies about being desperately single to his best friend, Gaby Teller, a mere week before he goes to stay with her over Christmas. Not wanting to back out of the lie, he finds himself roping in his new friend Ilya Kuryakin.

“It’s very nice to meet you,” said the erstwhile ice-cube. He had a warm, deep voice; unaffected by his long sleep as the rest of him. It really was spooky. Francis had looked up the daguerreotype: a rusted and pitted old thing, scanned into some museum’s system, taken nearly two centuries ago of a man who had hardly aged a day since.

Summary
“Don’t be ridiculous, Francis,” James replied. “I’ve found someone for Dundy, it can’t possibly be as hard as all that to find a wife for the hero of the Franklin expedition.”
At the wedding feast of Lt. Henry Le Vesconte after their rescue and return to England, James Fitzjames promises Francis Crozier that he shall find him a bride before the year is out. He'll consult Francis' closest friends (who all seem to think the entire thing is extremely hilarious and won't say why), compile the evidence, and return with the perfect woman for his friend and fellow captain. How hard could it be?
(Quite hard, actually, and he isn't quite sure why.)

Summary
Shortly before Daniel Molloy could finish the interviews with Louis du Pointe du Lac, meant to produce a book– likely to be his last– that would save the world (yeah, right) from vampires, the aging journalist was lured into meeting Lestat de Lioncourt, whose pretty young assistant, Evelyn Rosenthal, has a lot of secrets– particularly when it comes to Louis’ longtime companion, Armand– and those secrets caused the book deal to quickly unravel.
Now, under the supervision of Evelyn and Armand, Daniel writes from Elysium House, a mansion in upstate New York which Evelyn describes as "neo-brutalist" and Daniel describes as a glorified cave. He seeks to untangle the events that led him here: how a series of interviews became an initiation, a descent into a labyrinth of memories and the silences between; how his understanding of himself has been altered by his discoveries; and how he will answer the question that awaits him at the end of it all.
