Summary
The ocean, with its endless expanse and boundless freedom, seemed to mock him. It reminded him of the beauty he could never fully embrace, the feeling of weightlessness he could never experience. He wanted to be carried away by the tide, to be reborn as something new, something more true to himself.
How much he longed to be like the waves, free to crash against the shore and transform into something new, go wherever the tide carried him.

Summary
He never liked being hugged. Or rather, he never allowed himself to submerge in someone else's comfort, hated being unaware of how far it extended and unsure if his scars would gradually wear it thin and sever it like a frayed rope.
But with Johnny...
It was like being enveloped in a chrysalis of safety and comfort. He leaned into Soap's embrace, his head resting in the crook of his neck, inhaling the faint scent of cologne, leather and tobacco. Maybe, it'd be okay to just stay here for a moment.
Maybe it'd be okay to let himself fall just this once.
Maybe, just for a moment, he could let his guard slip a bit and allow himself this...

Summary
He wades in it now, eyes still open, fixed on the speckled ceiling, begging himself not to crave bomb blasts and artillery fire in his childhood bedroom. Although…there might be something beautiful about it all, Johnny supposes, those noises in the thick. The gasps in between discharge that say: I’m here, I’m a part of this song too.
After a near-fatal injury, John MacTavish finds himself back in his hometown in Scotland. Fresh off an untimely discharge, he's forced to cope with disability, his dysfunctional family, and the lingering knowledge that there are some things he's just not ready to leave behind...

Bookmarker's Notes
i cannot help but re-read this endless amounts of times knowing i will sob thrice before half the chapter is over. I chose to put an end to the endless witchhunt I have to commence on Google every time I need to have this again. Its perfection.

Summary
"Soap had been struggling with his feelings the past few days. Something clearly had changed between Ghost and himself, but he couldn’t figure out if it was for better or worse. In the two weeks since the incident with Graves, they had barely spoken. Things hadn’t been too awkward around the garage, and Ghost didn’t seem to mind dropping him off at class if the pain in his arm was too much to consider driving alone, but their usual banter was gone. Conversation was polite, professional, sterile. They were two acquaintances again, not close friends. Certainly not two people who had almost kissed in an adrenaline fueled haze while a bullet was dug out of his arm on the kitchen table."
Or, the one where Price's Body Shop on 141st Street is the place to be for cool cars, stray cats and hopeless romantics.
