To stay with him, to live with him. Regulus isn’t sure.
The words have been used interchangeably, and he does not think they’re similar enough to do that, but Sirius is always a shoulder turned from him before Regulus thinks to point out such a thing. He feels like he’s intruding, though he really shouldn’t, but his lack of spine has left a mess all over Sirius’ hardwood floors like a sad slug waiting to dry out and die, so he’s sorry.
He’s just so sorry.
He and Sirius’ relationship could be much better. Regulus is really not sure when it went sour.

That is why he had slipped away to the music room instead of attending breakfast. It was his last moment of peace. His goodbye to his old life in which he could enjoy his solitude. Because after today, all eyes would be on him and his family. After today, he would never be allowed to wander anywhere without supervision. Not even in his own home. Because today is the day he becomes a prince.

Regulus Black has two obsessions.
1) Hating his older brother’s best friend, James potter. Has Regulus met the man before now? No. But he has deemed James Potter his mortal enemy since he was ten years old.
2) A certain voice actor by the pseudonym Jay, who makes “spicy” audios.
Regulus has always known the universe to have a sick sense of humour but he didn’t know it was this cruel. He’d recognize that voice anywhere. To Regulus’s shock and abject horror, James Potter is Jay, there’s no doubt about it.
