Summary
Kim Hajin is a failure. There's no two ways to look at that objective truth. It's a truth that resonates through how others look at and ridicule him. Yet, as the common narrative dictates, everything begins anew with an innocuous email requesting to remake Hajin's novel.

If you must fix something, you must start at the root of the problem. Except they already tried that and the Root was not very receptive to the idea. So... start before the problem even existed??
Except Team Ro didn't plan to come back to the past. They didn't have any concrete idea of what to fix. Most of them don't even think they have the jurisdiction to make such changes.

There were many things that Shaun Hastings was good at: history, organisation, and hacking, to name a few. Feelings, however, were not included in that list. Especially not when it came to Desmond Miles.
So when Desmond's nightmares wake them both up one night, and Shaun spills his guts in a most undignified, fumbling fashion, he finds out just how repressed he's been. And how good letting go feels.
