Summary
Posing as a student at Tohoku University by day, shadowing villains by night, Shinsō Hitoshi has spent the last three years working himself to exhaustion. He’ll be twenty-five in three months and all he wants to do is sleep for a week. So when he finishes his undercover job up in Sendai, he resigns from the agency. Moves back to Tōkyō, and starts figuring out how to have a life again.
Then he gets an email on an account he hasn’t used in years—a request sent to his profile on a compensated dating website, something he used to do to help pay the bills when he was first starting out as a hero. He’s ready to delete it and move on, until he sees the sender's name.

Now, being forced to make buddies with people he doesn’t trust and don’t trust him. It’ll be easy (at least, if no one finds out that he tried to kill them two years ago).

Summary
The Asset pauses. He remembers the first few days after dragging St- dragging Captain America out of the water, the aimless emptiness that had filled him, with no mission and no knowledge of what to do next. He’d spent a week staring at the peeling wallpaper in a motel. There had been butterflies patterned on it. He hadn’t known what direction to go in next, because he was (is) scared of Captain America, and he didn’t want anything to do with Hydra, and he’d just… stopped. That’s when he realizes Barton isn’t going to move unless he gives the man a reason to move, something to do that isn’t related to a past he can’t remember or the threat of imminent death. (It’s been burned out of him, the Asset can relate.)
