“I mean, I have nothing against Max. Actually, I really like her. But dating within the party, I don’t know, it feels..” Mike looks back at me, and he looks weird. Flustered.
“Dating in the party just feels weird, I guess.” I am angry, suddenly, so I decide to be mean.
“Is El not in the party? Because I’m pretty sure you two would count.” I say it coldly. He stops rowing for a moment and I realize that maybe that was too far and maybe he hates me. I open my mouth to say something but he’s rowing again, and he says something, softly, so quiet I can barely hear him.
“Yeah. Yeah, I guess so.”Set after the Snow Ball, the party goes on a school camping trip. Will falls even further for Mike.
