Smart/nice way to pass a few sentences/paragraphs without using gendered words for Dean and Sam, leaving us unknowing till for a bit longer
Confirmation Dean is a girl first, and then we're left unknowing about Sam for a bit longer before we know Sam is a girl as well
Regardless, the night occurs differently for some reason, with Mary waking John and just the events altered
John possessed by Azazel, Mary lives, and they be on the run
Mary goes to her side of the family. Want to kill Sam as she told them that while she thinks John stopped it from happening the demon tried to bleed into Sammy's mouth. "Be sensible, Mary! Better to have one child than to let something monster-touched loose on the world!"Hmmmm. Deanna has powers? She's somehow able to just. Know when someone is good or bad to Sammy (from Mary's family members only that one was good) and Mary learned to trust her so when Dean said Bobby is a good man, regardless of her doubts she decided to trust him
The girls grow differently, mostly at Bobby's house as the wards there are enough to stop the demon. They're aware of the supernatural and everything, but Mary did things in the reasonable, smart way, instead of going off the deep end like canon John

Gabrielle very well knew why. She was just cross.
'Hey, remember that one time you made me believe I was living through the same Tuesday five times in a row when we went to California in the summer?' said Sam.
She grinned widely - even predatorily. At least it was a happy memory for somebody. 'What about?'
'Well I preferred you then than how you are now.'
The smile immediately slid off her face and he immediately felt gut-wrenchingly guilty. Dean was going to kill him when he found out. If Gabrielle had said something, anything, it would probably be better than the teary-eyed silence she was giving him now.
'You're going to be a horrible uncle,' she choked out at last, and Sam let his head fall against the wall with a loud thud.
'I'm sorry?'
'Say that to your future nephew,' she continued in the wounded-deer voice.
'I'm sorry, Michael. Please forgive me. I've never taken care of a pregnant woman before. You guys are going to be a great family.'
'Thank you,' she said coolly. 'Now get me a hot water bottle.'
He meekly did as he was told.

When he was on his way back downstairs, for a moment, he thought he was caught in an earthquake and gripped the banister tightly. Then he comprehended a kind of rhythm to the vibrations, and it dawned on him that Gabrielle was playing really loud music. He frowned as he continued his way down the stairs. Wasn't she worried about the neighbours?Of course not. It wasn't her house, dammit.
Then he came close enough to discern the beats from mindless rhythms, and realized: this wasn't for her benefit. It was revenge.
'You said you liked me better after Mystery Spot than now,' she beamed when he came down to a room screeching 'Heat of the Moment' by Asia.

Fics where the Deal™ happens differently. Talking about purely Dean making the Deal, and it's not like canon. For example like this where the Deal is with someone different.
I vaguely remember another fic or maybe even a few where while the Deal still happens, there were canon differences attempts (one where he had a connection with Death, another regarding an Angel, can't remember the details)
Hmmm in theory I could vibe with other Deals Dean makes (not normal shit, rather supernatural shit) or even Deals that aren't made by Dean, but are about him/regarding him (for example that fic with Dean as Michael's son, and Michael prevents John from making a Deal with Yellow Eyes by making his own Deal with John)
Doesn't necessarily have to be Demon Deals, but most of the time it does.
