Summary
Mumbo was having a wonderful day. Really. He had spent some time visiting Pearl’s megabase, and had finished a farm he’d been working on for the past couple days. But if his day was so great, why was there a corpse on the ground?
Scar’s bloody body lay on the floor on the walkway between his and Grian’s bases, and Mumbo had absolutely no idea how it got there. It didn’t look like he had been killed by a mob, or from fall damage, the wounds looked like they were inflicted by another player.
Any chance of getting details on how this had happened from chat was also gone, as the server had just reset a few minutes ago. Scar had probably died sometime around that time too, as bodies usually disappeared after someone respawned, and the only reason one would stick around would be if someone wasn’t respawning.

Summary
Pearl had messed up. She knew that now. Sitting on the floor of her megabase, unable to move any of her limbs, she knew she had messed up. It hadn’t seemed like a bad idea. Sure she had been at 10% power, but that happened sometimes. Usually she had a few hours before her power would get too low. She had forgotten that her battery was old. She was supposed to switch them out every few months, to ensure maximum power and to keep her from needing to plug in too often. She hadn’t done that in over 6 months, and now she was paying for it.
She tried to move her hands, even just twitch her fingers, but they wouldn’t move. Her comm was useless in her pocket, a lifeline she couldn’t use. The chance of anyone coming by to save her was non-existent. She hadn’t backed up her hardware onto an external source like Mumbo had suggested, so she didn’t exist outside of this robotic shell. There was no chance of her consciousness being transferred into another vessel. She was going to die.

Summary
Tango was tired. He was always tired these days, but today he felt worse. Too bad the world wasn’t going to wait for him to feel awake again. He swung himself out of bed, stumbling before catching himself on his dresser. The wood began to rot under his touch, and he quickly let go of it. He grabbed his gloves, pulling them over his blackened hands. He grabbed his cloak too, pulling it on over the clothes he was already wearing before leaving the room.
He bypassed the kitchen altogether, completely forgetting about doing anything along the lines of brushing his teeth or combing his hair. He had a fresh set of shulker boxes filled with material waiting in his storage room, and that meant he had work to do. Good work to do, not just the boring grind that usually awaited him at the start of every day.

Mumbo was back. He was finally back after months of being missing. He was back, he was shaking, and he was pointing a gun at Grian’s chest. He didn’t look like he recognised him.

Summary
X didn’t know how long he’d been working. He didn’t know how many bugs he’d fixed, how many lines he’d rewritten. He didn’t even know what day it was. Anything recent had blended together into the giant mush of nothingness that was his life.
He was so tired. His eyes hurt and his movements were sluggish. The lines of code were beginning to blur together into a meaningless pattern of black and white. Even when he could see the words it was hard to piece together their meanings. He’d been reading for so long that some words were beginning to look like random series of symbols rather than actual words.
He needed a break. He was so tired. Even just a 2 hour nap would be better than this. He’d been responding to bugs non-stop for… a long time. Too long. He promised himself that the moment this was no longer necessary for people’s safety he’d go to bed. But first: Impulse’s code.

Summary
Cleo was pissed. No, they weren’t just pissed, they were beyond pissed. She wanted to kill him. How many times had she told him that a trip to the mountains was a bad idea? How many times had they tried to stop him from going, only to end up going with him in an effort to stop him from getting himself killed? And now they were stuck on a mountaintop in a snowstorm with no signal, and when they got back she was definitely going to kill him.

Summary
Xisuma couldn’t breathe. Why did this happen? Why now? Why did everything have to get messed up the moment he felt stable? He’d just gotten used to being an axolotl before they left world-8, and then he’d been so distraught over what he’d let happen that his body had stayed with his first form for what he’d hoped would be forever.
But now things were different. And they were worse. They’d gotten so much worse than normal. He looked like half his face was being overtaken for pete's sake! He couldn’t go out like this. He couldn’t let himself be seen in this form. This was so, so much worse than anything he’d shown the other hermits thus far. He could barely stomach it himself, and he was used to seeing a horrendous monster staring back at him through the mirror!

Summary
His body lunged forward and Etho tried to scream. He blinked and he had one hand around Bdubs’ throat, pinning him against the ground. He had a sword in his other hand, raising it.
“‘Tho-” Bdubs wheezed, and at that moment Etho would’ve done anything to regain control of his body.
He tried to will his arms to release Bdubs and send the sword through his own chest but he couldn’t. He didn’t have any control. His sword came down cleanly between Bdubs’ ribs and he watched his friend scream and thrash before he quieted down and went still.
AKA- Etho betrays Bdubs in Limited Life. They both suffer from this.
AKA AKA- I got inspired by a single line from Etho once again. This time it was: "If I killed Bdubs I don't think he'd ever trust anyone again."Series

Summary
There were so many unknowns- where they were, how they got here, why they were here- but they didn’t want to face those questions yet. Still though, the questions did not go away. What was the ‘it’ he had referenced before, the one that had taken him here? He didn't know… Against their better judgement, EX cracked an eye open.
Immediately, they wished they hadn’t. He was sprawled out across a hill, across from something that looked straight out of a fairytale… ew. Why hadn’t he kept his eyes shut? Sprouting up from the castle was a giant cherry-blossom tree. He only knew one group of people who would create something so… elegant. Hermits. Gross. And if there were Hermits here, Xisuma couldn’t be far. That was both disgusting and dangerous.

Summary
EX was running, racing through the forest. Three left. There were only three left, they had released the hounds- Soon there would be none. They’d released the hounds, there was no way the three were going to manage to survive this-
He could hear the snarling behind him, a hound racing after them, snapping its jaws at the air in an attempt to scare them. They were scared. They were so scared. They didn’t want to die, they wanted to go home-
There was no home. X had thrown him off Hermitcraft, and he had nowhere else to go. He wouldn’t go back to the void, but the hubs wouldn't take him, and he was never going to be naive enough to join a private server again.

Summary
Everything hurt. The day had started out fine: He’d done some schedule planning in the morning, decided his week-long goals, tormented Grian… It had been a good morning. A perfectly nice, normal morning. A good morning that should’ve led into a good, productive day.
And then the headache started. It had come on as slowly as ever. He’d thought it would stay at an annoying but not debilitating level. And now Doc was stuck in bed. His blackout curtains blocked most of the light from the windows, and he kept his lamp off. There was no reason to make things worse.

Summary
Grian took a deep breath, hand just an inch from Xisuma’s door. He’d been practicing this interaction for days. He’d run through it in his head hundreds of times, prepared himself for every scenario. He should be ready. But now he was frozen. Was this really the best course of action? Was this really all that he could do? Was-
It was. Of course it was. If there was anything else to do, he would’ve thought of it by now. Grian took another breath, then, knocked. He heard mumbling and shuffling from inside, then the door opened.

Summary
Doc was pretty used to people just showing up in his perimeter at this point. Apparently, if you dig a giant hole, all the Hermits are going to be drawn to it. Maybe it was something to do with their name, the word ‘hermit’ did kind of imply that they lived underground. Or maybe they just liked bedrock, that could also be the case. Whatever it was, though, Doc had gotten pretty used to coming across unexpected visitors. However, he hadn’t expected he’d ever be faced with this.
Grian was curled up a shadowy corner of one of his farms, shaking. Grian, who had been missing for over a month and a half now. Doc crept toward him slowly, afraid of scaring him off. Grian obviously didn’t notice him approach, his head on his knees and his hands clamped over his ears. Doc sat down a few feet away from him, being careful not to make him feel trapped. He’d made that mistake already, and he wasn’t willing to do it again.
Note- This is set in HC season 9 but the only context you need is that Doc built a giant hole called the perimeter and put crazy stuff in it.
