Summary
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
We all know that Caine is loosely based on Am from 'I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream', but what if he was also based on Robbie, Speedy, Cutie, and Nestor from Isaac Asimov's 'I, Robot' novel. This is a character study of a conflict between code and emotion. What I think could be a realistic reason for Caine to abstract.

Summary
Ed Teach is a freshly minted lawyer who is given what he thinks is a routine job - transfer of property to someone with limited ID. Easy, right? Instead he’s faced with Stede, a unique robot owned by the Bonnet household. And Stede's unique brain allows him to grow, and develop a creativity and an individuality that he was never meant to have, and most importantly, to want.
It’s bad enough, in this world, that humans want. Ed has spent his whole life pushing that urge down, to work towards what he’s supposed to aim for. Has fought hard not to stay in the mould that he was destined for, but has had to fight just as hard to tamp down his own wants to fit into the one he’s chosen. Has cut bits off and tried to forget how to want them. He can see why unbridled desire appearing in a robot - no shame, no need for conformity, only logic pathways and the Three Laws to guide them - would freak them out.

“Do you fully understand when seen from the perspective of recent events this…exchange…indicates your meeting was intentionally manipulated to occur for the RK’s detriment, but considering the antagonistic dynamic from your shared history, someone incorrectly anticipated your mutual… positive…reactions?”

“Hi, I’m Bridget, Head of Nanobot Screening.”I forced a polite smile, feeling the heat rise in my face, and blushing from minor embarrassment which he didn’t seem to notice until his face went slightly neutral before he smiled sweetly back. I swallowed, knowing what appeared to be a passing thought was actually him scanning me. I was one of the few people with the right background to recognize it.
“Hi, I’m Detective Connor Anderson with the DPD. It’s very nice to meet you!” He took my outstretched hand and firmly held it, waiting for my response.
“Good,” I thought, “since your hot ass just scanned me.” I cleared my throat, not quite confident in my voice.
“I apologize for not seeing you there, Connor .” He still firmly held my hand, possibly taking my pulse, while sweetly smiling.
I eyed him warily.

Summary
She glances at the clock on her dash, a bright 9:43 glaring up at her in contrast to the darkening skies. Her eyes dart back up to the windshield, searching for a small exit sign to pull in for the night, and she nearly blanches when she spots the small redhead thumbing for a ride on the side of the road. She nearly screeches to stop next to the girl slowly trudging down the shoulder, free arm curled around herself, and a huge hiking backpack slung over her delicate shoulders. She has enormous headphones on, and she doesn’t even notice Jo’s there until she honks and rolls her window down.
"Hey, uh, you need a ride?" she half-yells over her car’s chuffing, her eyebrows drawn together in a semi-pout of concern. the redhead practically jumps out of her skin, eyes wide when she turns to the noise. She yanks the headphones around her neck and wraps her hands around her backpack straps before almost screaming back.
“What?"
