Bruce sighed heavily. Sounding tired more so than normal, "Yeah, from my time in Arkham."

Still, Buck keeps going, pushing the comforter to the side and shifting his legs to put weight on his good one.
Buck’s leg flares up, causing him to have a bad chronic pain day. Clark is there to help.

Recently watched "Stray" and "Ryan", the first time I'd seen any Smallville in a decade, really, and was inspired to write what amounts to a missing scene for "Stray", picking up when Clark is hugging Ryan in the cellar.
Ryan is scared, and Clark wants him to feel safe. His Kryptonian biology does a thing, and he and discovers that his new 'little brother' has never had one formative bonding experience. They get a little turned on, and, well, smut happens.

Clark arched his back and took off, higher and higher, the city faded to shapes of shadows and lights that glittered warmly as they reflected off the snow. The wind pressed coldly against the layers, she could feel the snowflakes pelting them both but they were not enough to bother her.
“Are you warm enough?” Clark asked, his gaze incredibly, heartbreakingly, warm and soft. It made something in her squirm uncomfortably, but it was a part of her she didn’t plan on keeping. She deserved this love, inherently, because she existed.
Lois nodded, still transfixed by his gaze. She pulled her scarf down enough to press a kiss to his lips. -

A recent incident in a fight against Lex Luthor reminds Bruce of this, and he struggles. And, of course, Bruce being Bruce, he doesn’t share his worries with Clark.
Clark, of course, finds out, and is more than willing to help his boyfriend. Or: these are indeed wild times, and I needed a bit of gentle SuperBat to cheer me up 😊.
