1) of soft and sharp things by call_me_steveSpencer squints. Hotch is certainly acting a little weird. He’s not sure why. He’s being… soft. Soft is the best word for it, he decides, as he searches his boss up and down. The job he’s done to his wrists isn’t as bad as Spencer’s, but he still shrinks back at the blood dripping down his forearms, staining his white shirt cuffs. Spencer racks his brain for where his suit jacket had gone and can only scrounge up the memory of Hotch entering the conference room at the police station, doing his best to roll up his sleeves.
It’s odd. Hotch doesn’t roll up his sleeves. He doesn’t laugh at Spencer’s jokes.
“Is everything okay?” Spencer finds himself asking, without thinking about it.
Hotch deflates. “Reid-”
And then the door opens.

Hotch and Spencer have been kidnapped by their latest unsub and tied up with barbed wire. It's up to them to stall for time and get them home safe.

“Damn, kid,” he says, “who did this to you? I thought you weren’t going out on patrol until Tuesday?”
Damian steadfastly refuses to answer. He reaches up to his nose, batting Father’s hands away. Father’s brows furrow before he tries to pry Damian’s hands away from his face.
Father’s voice is terse as he says, “Let me help, sweetheart.”
Both Damian and Todd seemingly ignore Father as Todd turns his head to the side like it’ll help him get a better look. “Did you sneak out? Are you giving us the silent treatment ‘cuz you’re pissed off you got caught?”

Drake clicks his tongue and tilts his head off to the side. “This really isn’t as fun as I thought it would be.”
Oh, really? Damian starts furiously finger spelling, just to be annoying. You know, I thought the floating platforms would be of the utmost excitement.
“I caught a solid half of that and I think you’re making fun of me.” Drake goes to shift before remembering that he can’t - his face beneath his domino contorts into something unpleasant. “My legs are falling asleep, dude.”
You move, signs Damian, for real this time, and I go under.
“You talk,” Drake shoots back. “And I go under."

It hits her, now, that she’s really about to do this. She’s about to burn her little brother to save his life. For a moment, her resolve waivers. Maybe she should let Jason do this.
“Steph,” says Jason. “You either do it now, or I do it.”
She swallows. “This is gonna suck,” she warns-
And then she presses the fire to her brother’s skin and her brother screams.

Or, an undercover mission goes completely wrong, leaving Steph and Jason to take care of Damian.

“Damian,” Dick says. “Damian, it’s me. Dick. You’re in the hospital.”
Finally, so very carefully, Damian cracks an eye open. The second follows close after, leaving him blinking a little waspishly as he pulls in everything around him. His gaze lands on Dick - who just smiles warmly and places a hand over the top of his little brother’s.
“Hey, baby, it’s good to see you up.” He swipes his thumb over the back of Damian’s hand. “You had me scared there, for a bit.”
“Why am I-?” His voice is rough - Damian tilts his head back, pressing it hard against the pillows. Dick, without meaning to, makes a soft noise in the back of his throat. “Hospital?”
