Summary
“Hey, you good?” He asks, Lo’ak closes his eyes and tries to calm down his thundering heart once again. He then opens his eyes and stares at the lake in front of him.
“Did you do something? Want me to take cover?” At those words, he starts to tremble. Neteyam always took cover for him, even if he didn’t ask. It pains him that his dreams are so accurate with reality.
Silence falls between them again. Lo’ak feels so bad that he’s not talking but it’s like his mouth is clamped shut. Words aren’t coming to him at all.
Then—
“Oh, I get it.” He doesn’t think his brother understands. Now the fish are swimming away, far, far away like something dangerous has entered their waters. It makes his frown deepen.
“Do you blame yourself?”
Those words make him freeze.
“What?” Is the only word that leaves his mouth, quiet in shock.

Summary
After the battle that had killed his brother, Lo’ak finds himself hurting far beyond what was physically possible. His hurt infests his dreams and floods into his waking life, reminding him that Neteyam was truly gone. His parents don’t blame him, his siblings don’t blame him, but he blames him. Lo’ak blames himself and maybe that’s how it was supposed to be.
It should have been Lo’ak who was shot, not Neteyam. And now he has to deal with the consequences.
Or: After Neteyam’s death Lo’ak crumbles at the seams. Blaming himself for his families misfortune. As his mental health is left unchecked he finds himself on the verge of loosing himself to Pandora’s might waves.

When the Sully's move to Awa'atlu in search of uturu, Lo'ak is sure he'll hate it. Unironically so, he does. He can see the way he stare at his hands, at the hair on his forehead. He can see the way they stare at him and see how ashamed he is to be there. After the war, Lo'ak is sure they're talking about him.

Meanwhile the Sully family has changed since Lo’ak’s capture. After learning from Quaritch that his son is “dead”, Jake becomes harder on his remaining kids. Neteyam has become cold, over-protective and closed off since Lo’ak’s kidnapping. Hoping to give the kids a fresh start, Neyteri convinces Jake to move to Awa’atlu. Once there they meet a young Na’vi named Ezra who Neteyam often butts heads with. But what happens when they find out an important secret from Ezra’s youth?
