He does his best to settle in the wake of the destruction of life as he knew it. That's complicated when Hannibal comes back into his life. But is Hannibal real? Or are Will’s delusions taking over his mind? In the midst of the confusion and chaos of his uncertain reality, Will must come to terms with his choices and who he’s becoming, with or without Hannibal.

A Season 2 AU in which Will Graham did not, at any point, accuse Hannibal of being the Chesapeake Ripper.
Will Graham is the smartest person most people will ever have the misfortune to meet. Hannibal Lecter has been no exception; he's brilliant, but his failing is that he assumes he's the mastermind in every situation. He still thinks Will didn't pick up on every weird joke, every coincidence, every threat disguised as a charming quip, every flashing neon sign that screams "Hannibal Lecter is the Chesapeake Ripper!"
Now, Will has to decide what he wants from Hannibal. For the first time in his life, it seems like there's a possibility that somebody might be close enough to his level for a real connection. Hannibal is an apex predator in a garish suit, blind to Will's superior camouflage, and the Ripper's obsession with Agent Graham is so obvious it's drawing attention from... undesirable sources. If Will can manipulate everything to his desired outcome, Hannibal could become the equal Will has always wanted.
If he wants to protect their fragile peace, it'll take a lot more than just Hannibal Lecter.
That's fine. After all, Will has never been able to stop himself at just one stray.

Summary
Will had a few certainties growing up, cardinal truths that were undeniable in his eyes.
The first was that dogs were much better than people. No dog would ever lie to you, or use you in any way.
The second was that being rude and being straightforward were two very different things, but for their own convenience people would confuse the two, pretending not to know where one ended and the other began.
And finally, the third was to never trust psychiatrists. They were the worst, along with doctors, when it came to Will and his peculiar condition.

When Will realizes that Hannibal is the Copycat Killer in Minnesota, he also realizes one other thing: pointing the finger at Hannibal without any evidence would get him nowhere. So, he keeps his mouth shut. As he mourns his friendship with Hannibal and tries to untangle his complicated feelings on the betrayal, he also starts to draw him closer, desperate for a motive behind the sick game he played with his life and for any evidence that real affection had existed between them at all. As Will's trial, and the real threat of the death penalty, draws nearer, he begins to realize that his fate may rest in his ability to convince Hannibal that he likes him better alive. And furthermore, if he survives this, that he has to decide what he wants to do with Hannibal afterwards.
Or, a season 2 rewrite fic where Will decides that earning Hannibal's trust and breaking it at an opportune time is much sweeter revenge than putting him in prison. That is, if he can avoid falling into his own trap.

Will had no intention of seeing the neurologist Hannibal referred him to. Will was sure any doctor could be persuaded into believing anything the esteemed Dr. ‘I can smell cancer’ Lecter claimed to be true. But Will didn’t exactly have a list of non-Hannibal-affiliated neurologists on hand. Google would have to do.”
Crack fic where after a successful recovery from encephalitis, Will decides to start a new life as a dog trainer. Hannibal has no idea what’s going on, and is trapped in a cycle of making a fool of himself as he tries and fails to get into Will’s head. Luckily for Hannibal, oblivious Will thinks Hannibal’s newfound awkwardness is endearing.
